  1. The Kites also look like stickers though, and all of those have been tampo'd. We can't make a determination either way.
  2. Wow, don't I feel like a dope. So White I didn't see them right in front of me. That doesn't bode well for trimming them if I couldn't spot them right there. lol
  3. Oh hell, it's like you've just held me up for $800+!
  4. I agree, this is NOT the SDFM version IMO. I don't want some damned Frankenstein version of the SDFM. I want a proper, true SDFM SDF-1. I'm not buying this.
  5. Mmm, are you sure? On the sticker sheet that came with my 0A I only have two Un Spacy stickers and wasn't sure if I was going to use them on the fast packs or on the bare legs (or pilfer some stickers from another toy.) None of the stickers I've used from Arcadia have curled and they're pretty thin. i think they're a tad thicker on the 0D and 0A than on the VF-1's and the 19 were but they seem to change the thickness based on the color of the valk they put out (Yamato did this too.)
  6. Make it web exclusive if it has to be, this is a great idea IMO.
  7. Did you elect to use the U.N. Spacy sticker on the Fast Packs instead of on the bare leg?
  8. Thank you Scyla, that pic highlights the colors quite well. Personally I'm cool with it.
  9. I think the VF-4's pricing was already at the markup cost.
  10. I doubt the VF-4 would be marked up, honestly.
  11. If it ain't SDFM they can keep it.
  12. He also oversaw the shitty V.1 25's as well. His stamp of approval on a toy literally means nothing.
  13. I feel for you guys still hunting for G's, though I am surprised Bandai haven't popped off a 25 Leon version just to keep the visibility up.
  14. It wouldn't take much to get a V.3 right, really. Give it a real double jointed elbow, add a locking mechanism for the wing bar (or just remove the damn thing) add an additional click/more range to the upper thigh and fix the ankles!
  15. There is another possibility why the Arcadia is scoring higher in votes right now. if you go look at the introduction to Macross thread a lot of people on this board either discovered Macross through Plus and/or were re-introduced to it through Plus. The 19 is their favorite Valk. Not 3D-rendered, Frontier Isamu 19, but hand drawn Plus YF-19. Despite how accurate the Bandai is to the Frontier likeness, the Arcadia looks like the hand drawn YF-19. And, yes, the lack of tampo actually means it looks more like the Animation than not, so it won't bother too many people that it isn't there. My kingdom for new ankles.
  16. You should have received one. My payment is due by the 24th. EDIT: No, I can't read my own e-mails correct anymore. I haven't received payment request yet either (and I'm not too broken up about it right now anyway.)
  17. This is a fascinating read. All of the Arcadia fans are like "I like my Arcadia because..." all of the Bandai one's are like, "Arcadia sucks, Bandai is better, because Arcadia sucks!" It's almost like one side likes their toy and the other is just looking to grind an axe.
  18. Other than having a funky color they're just sweet potatoes. They aren't limited to the Philippines, they grow wild in Hawaii as well (as a matter of fact you can buy them at Natural Grocers here in Albuquerque too.) Whatever these Ube recipes are, they're just specific ways the Filipino's would prepare them, like here in the states we've probably just bury it in butter and cinnamon/sugar (though I'm not sure why you would want to cover up the natural flavor as they're amazing by themselves.)
  19. Short answer, niche show and niche product. Long answer, the show can only be distributed legally in Japan due to oddities with program broadcasting in the US in the 80's combined with a miserly US company that has strong armed it's way into blocking all Macross broadcasts from outside Japan. Thus, smaller market, smaller batches of toys produced, toys are difficult to obtain outside of Japan. If you don't already know the story DYRL is the most confusing bunch of beautifully animated BS. It does not hold up on it's own. You would have to watch it with whoever was viewing it and explain the original as you go to have it make any sense. It was truly "for the fans" and doesn't even attempt to be clear to newcomers.
  20. I didn't know that was a thing but I want to try it!!!
  21. Cool for the people who have wanted this. Looks like it's proportioned well. One of the few things I was never into so at least I can pass this one up.
  22. This is what the toy looks like. Note the stabilizers on the bottom part of the legs. There's also a patch on the back of the thigh (not pictured) and the little bits of plastic around the backpack boosters in that blue color as well. Totally serious, in the show the color of those fins change a lot and what they've gone with here is... puzzling, to say the least. Just FYI, the people in the toy thread are... touchy, to say the least. They prefer Bandai Valks because of enormous amounts of horrible, oversized, blurry obnoxious tampo versus cutting out their own properly sized decals (which they decry as being stickers because only water transfers are decals...) and customizing the valk to look as classy or obnoxious as they like. A few do repainting/weathering... most of them just cry about the color and cost.
  23. Well, this is... insane.
  24. Yes, that's what I'm talking about. The stabilizers on the legs. Maybe I wasn't clear?
  25. From what I'm getting from a thread I started asking about the tail fin in the official Macross thread Macross Chronicle shows the stabilizers as being "light grey" with a hint of blue. Which I feel is a good description for the main portion of the toys body, but doesn't jive with the toys stabilizer or some of the confusing, more blue, screen shots.
