Some tinkering

@Chronocidal I guess the short nose also was inspired by carrier-based planes of that era. The KA-3D has a comparable front profile.

Uuh, I need some vacation from The Last Of Us before I can watch this.

Volks announced a new 1/144 LED Mirage injection kit. Also a SAV Biblos is coming, which might be based on the old MM kit.

I think it's built around the Hasegawa kit, so yes. -

Moderoid Model Series by Good Smile
electric indigo replied to M'Kyuun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hobbysearch has a couple of Moderoid kits on sale right now, like the Madox and Power Loader. I bought the Deer Stalker last year, and the engineering is a bit clunky compared to Bandai, but it's a cool design and comes at the size of a 1/100 Gundam. -
I have built the Kaiyodo version of this kit and it's super small in 1/144 (about 13 cm)
-
Eggshell seems to be the direction there. Feel free to share your progress on the 1/72 kit.

Great work on this challenging kit, and nice photography on top! Thanks for sharing.

Time to close the canopy before I spend even more time with the pilot & the HUD. The frame is made from the kit parts, but fixing the acetate pieces in place took hours.

It's on preorder at the usual suspects.

@wm cheng Thank you. It's Trumpeter's F/A-18 A, which I find pretty good & affordable. Their F/A-18 C would probably be closer to the Kuwaiti machine, but the only difference I could spot are the number of antennas on the rudders. Since I could not source the aftermarket decals for the Kuwait air force, the kit will remain unfinished to a certain degree, but still be beautiful to look at.

Decals and more bits and pieces are added

The price is pretty reasonable considering the rate of aftermarket decals. And you get the figure on top.- 91 replies

Never heard about that, but it seems like a cool tool, thanks! Today:

Uhm but you don't want to use RGB for pigment colors (raising all color component values woud lead to white in RGB/additive, which of course never happens with paint). The CMYK system is your friend here. If you want to further de-saturize your mix, you could add yellow, or grey if you want to keep the more reddish hue.
