I am assuming, perhaps mistakenly, that VFTF1 is already aware of this fact. I'm also not inclined to dismiss his artistic interpretive analysis, since it is valid in certain cases where there quite simply is no internally consistent explanation. His Roy Fokker example as a case in point.
-
This is fixating upon another arguement totally unrelated to the question asked. VFTF1 has just written he sees no continuity problems in Macross and wonders why others can't reconcile the differing appearances of the SDF-1 Macross based on pure artistic interpretation in the sequels, as he does. I just responded saying that's good if it works for him, but isn't necessarily internally correct nor officially consistent. And then I went on to detail why. The canon explanation that the SDF-1 (Film Version) is actually just the SDF-1 (TV Version ) refitted never even entered into the discussion.

Is that a custom? It's very nice!

Omg, they killed Starbuck! What the hell? I didn't see this one coming. But there is something else going on. Lee Adama did see the Cylon Heavy Fighter in the atmosphere, so Kara Thrace wasn't hallucinating (entirely). She could be alive I suppose, though in a way I'd rather she wasn't. But they have to do something with the way she "ended" because they set up these plot elements that are now just hanging unless they address them. Well, only the final two episodes of Season 3 are left. I'm going to die when I'm done with them. There's going to be this insane urge to see more even though I know I can't. Arghhh! I hate television I like the new character Romo Lampkin. I hope they have more of his character cause I think he's up to something. His kleptomania is hilarious and entertaining too -
Be careful not to confuse two very different subjects when dealing with canon. No one objects to fan reconciliation and supposition, as long as it's understood that fan speculation is all it is. You, as an individual, can certainly reconcile all things as artistic deviations if that works for you. However, if some fans choose to analyze Macross with a literal approach, that rationale is just as legitimate as your interpretive approach (some may even argue more so and they'd have the official canon policy to back them up). The problem, even with officially created artistic revisions, is the continuity. Once you make a Macross production and officially release it as Macross, even the creators are stuck with it and disregard it at their own cost. The SDF-1 Macross was not originally envisioned as the popular Film Version it is now, for better or worse. It's original state in the series is forever canon unless Big West/Studio Nue removes it or the show from continuity somehow (ie. Macross II). Even if the creator says; "This Film Version is how the SDF-1 Macross was to appear and will forever appear as such from this point onward", that does not invalidate the canon status of the SDF-1 Macross as it appeared in the canon SDFM television series. These two canon elements must be reconciled from within the fictional universe, not from without. This is the essence of unification of continuity, the attempt to reconcile all the disparate elements of a given franchise, discarding elements only when there is an irreconcilable contradiction that cannot be solved otherwise. This is why George Lucas went to such pains to alter the original Star Wars trilogy so changes between the prequels and sequels would jive without creating glaring continuity errors, right or wrong. Correspondingly, Macross fans cannont be blamed for trying to internally reconcile the SDF-1 Macross pre-and-post DYRL until the day that SDFM is officially released with all instances of the original SDF-1 Macross removed

Oh, to look upon the science fiction of old with hindsight and marvel at how we guessed wrong I wonder if our modern day sci-fi mecha will look as silly in about 50 years

Tanks are cool because they are ugly. That's the point. Actually, most military hardware is ugly. Jeeps, tanks, helicopters, frigates; they all look ugly. Fighter Jets are about the only military machines that actually look aesthetically pleasing and that's because aerodynamic design is a necessity of building a flying craft. But I prefer my tanks ugly

Yes, me too. The matte finish makes the ship look much more like a real vessel. I'm keeping my eye on this one.

It looks more like the Macross Plus version.

It depends where one lives. Hobby shops are notorious for very limited selections in smaller cities. Modelling and anime are already niche markets, so smaller population centers (like Ann Arbor) are unlikely to have large selections of varied merchandise. The only online vendors I can think of that would have the stuff you're looking for sqidd would be places like Starship Modeller or Hobby Link Japan.

Wow! This looks way better than the original one! Fantastic!

If you really must have one, I recommend losing the angel and wings. Also, don't do snakes, skulls, knives, motorcycles, girls, hearts, demons, chains, barbwire, butterflies, asian lettering, or ancient symbols of any kind. If you do, I will hunt you down and sandpaper your tattoo for polluting the world with more mediocrity

Hahaha, could there possibly be a better time than now to review our favorite Red vs. Blue video? An oldie but a goodie... The Internet Vs. Real Life "Halo 3 sucks! I hate you and I hate the games you like!"

I'll check it out. Is the Ultra Titanium the large 7-8" version fo the Galactica? -
Wow. What an interesting solution to a broken toy. Is it quite effective?

I love hating a game because I hate the fans. It's very edifying

Gotta love the silly angle on that photograph. It makes the 1/48 look super deformed

I've actually been waiting for someone to post sexual innuendo about the posts on size, but no one did. Maybe I've just been spending too much time on AP, where no post lasts more than ten minutes without being sexualized I'd like to see these ships before even considering purchasing them. I don't understand the fascination with these pocket-sized ships. After all, I'm not interested in conveniently carrying them anywhere; they are home/office display pieces. -
Hehehe, it's so funny to see a new member enjoying the 1/48 Yammies. I almost feel like I just got one Now when I get home from work, I'm gonna ogle at my VF-1J and VF-1S. And I think the time has come to put FAST Packs on one of the units again.

Since I dont own the older TIAS or the Miyatake books, I don't know for sure if these books already contain the line art of the Prometheus bridge from the Macross Perfect Memory book. You're probably looking for something more detailed than this older line art from the way you've described your request. But I figured it can't hurt to post this older line art on the off chance you don't already have it. Anyway, here it is: Old Prometheus bridge line art

Omg, they used the name "Skin Job" in BSG! That is so funny. That has to be a Blade Runner reference. Edward James Olmos saying skin job in a science fiction show; there's no way that isn't a blatant Blade Runner homage Those look like the tiny 3 inch versions. Those are too small, IMO. But thanks anyway. -

Oh gawds (punny!). When I get to the end of Season 3, it's gonna kill me! My only solace will be in knowing that I only have to go through one season to finish out the story. I just finished the episode "Hero" about Adama's mission aboard the Valkyrie. It was probably about the weakest episode in the series so far, so I suppose some of the complaints about season three may have a bit of weight. But I loved the first seven episodes of this season and if the last 4-5 episodes are as good as everyone here tells me, I'd call this season another big win. However, even in this episode there was some cool stuff going on with Number 3. She's having these weird visions all the time, which really has me guessing. I must admit, I did get a fanboy thrill when Number 3 wakes from her nightmare and she's in bed with Number 6. I guess it wouldn't be so bad being Baltar at times. I could put up with a lot of self-loathing if I had a threesome with Tricia Helfer and Lucy Lawless. A whole hell of a lot of self loathing, I assure you -

Well, I'm done Season 2 and I'm well into Season 3. Wow, I sure wasn't expecting that huge one year jump. It's funny, but I've watched so much bad sci-fi over the years, I was half expecting it all to turn out as a dream sequence or time travel No, I wasn't really, but I did have that in the back of my mind. It sure was funny seeing Bamber in a fat suit, but damnit, he lost the Pegasus I really hated Thrace with long hair, so looked way too trashy. I'm glad she's back to the sexy tomboy look. And I'm sure glad they didn't kill Gaeta. Yikes, what they did with those traitors really didn't sit well with me at all, but then again I sure wouldn't stick up for them, not after what they did. I keep expecting season 3 to get worse like you all tell me it does, but it's fantastic so far. Or maybe I'm just to high on this show to notice -
Yeah, I've heard that used successfully on a lot of message boards. Apparently they just slip out real easy when boiled in water. It's easy and harmless. I've never tried it myself, but I might give it a shot just because I'm curious

I'm lousy with models, so I don't do them. It's figures or nothing I'm afraid.
