I've got a newbie question! I've often heard many fans here on MW claim the VF-19 was not in widespread use even by the year 2050. Let me ask this bluntly; where is this "fact" coming from? I've never read it anywhere. Is this official trivia? Is this something that was stated outright in VF-X2, which fans are assuming as canon? Where exactly does this commonly held theory come from that the VF-19 was still not in widespread use a decade after being formerly adopted by the UN Spacy? Any help?

I followed the links you sent me and just realized that I used the same GameFAQ to help build the VF-X2 profiles for my website Yes, the writer of the VF-X2 FAQ indeed has it wrong. He continually names the Macross 13 as if it's the SDF-1 Macross, obviously not knowing the difference (which is a distinct possibility, since Macross 7 was never as well known internationally as SDF Macross or Macross Plus, so many fans may not even know what the "New Macross Class" is). Regardless, the ship in VF-X2 is absolutely a New Macross Class (number 13). The cinematic scenes show the New Macross design clearly and it is notably using a hand-held cannon. Good catch azrael. It should be. Why would the events of VF-X2 have any effects on the SDF-1 Macross?

I'm really glad they said this officially, because I've been wanting to mention much the same thing about the VF-25 for some time. But I've been dreading the inevitable deification placed on the VF-1 as the "ultimate" transformation system and the harsh replies screaming how could I even suggest the VF-25 transformation is actually be superior I should do another another write up on the transformation sequence like I did for the YF-19 and YF-21 (which reminds me, I don't think I posted that faux-dossier on my website as yet).

Rorschach, The Comedian and the Silk Spectre are definitely close live-action approximations of the original Watchmen character designs. Nite Owl and Ozymandias are certainly the most radically redesigned in their live-action incarnations. I must say the film is certainly surprising me with the amount of style it has retained from the golden age era motif that was used in the original Watchmen graphic novel. These live-action versions of the characters definitely feel very retro. Nite Owl still looks retro with those goggles and I noticed his ship looks the same in the background. Ozymandias actually looks Gilliam-esque, like he belongs in Brazil or Flash Gordon. Well, I have to say the costume designs are certainly much better than I was expecting.

AFAIK, the red and orange colored acrobatic team valkyries are never shown in Battroid mode, so I have no clue what the color is for their forehead sensors. Regardless, I know for certain the Macross II mecha don't use a leg stripe, at least, not according to the anime itself. Further, all the official models and pictures of the VF-2SS show it has a white colored hull. As others have previously mentioned, everything in the Macross II anime has a blue tint to it due to the animation techniques used, so the VF-2SS should actually be white. So that Viz picture wouldn't be canon, even if it is official. Anyway, here is the final colors I've chosen:

As Mark Nguyen has posted, the appearance of the Zentran Fighter is very brief. It appears in both Fighter and Battroid modes, but only in the most brief of glimpses. Just watch the final episode closely and you'll see it. It should appear three times in total (if I'm remembering correctly) but no more than a few seconds of total on-screen time.

So the new Q-Rau reallly is going to be piloted by giant sized Meltrandi. Very weird.

My apologies Sorata I actually noticed the Zentran fighter in three different scenes in Macross II, though I knew what to look for ahead of time.

I gamed in my younger years and fondly remember plenty of hours spent on his RPGs. It's like an old magician has passed, leaving only those with happy childhood memories of the show he played. RIP Gary.

Got through watching Macross II, my second time in about a decade. Ugh. Anyway, discussions of poor quality aside, I did notice the green highlighted VF-2SS fighters in the last episode of the show, so it's definitely a canon variant. As for the Metal Siren, I don't know what the hell the creators were thinking with that one. It's abilities are not explained or hinted at anywhere and it comes across as this big dues ex machina mecha just to give Nexx some time in the spot light (since his character is virtually forgotten near the end anyway). Whatever that "special ability" the Metal Siren had, it certainly didn't appear as any kind of pin-point barrier/omni barrier effect, especially since Macross II flat out ignores that technology, never once displaying it or mentioning it through the entire Macross II series. I suppose as fans we could reconcile the Metal Siren effect using past established Macross fictional technology (which works nice continuity-wise), but IMO, it's far more plot contrivance than anything else specifically.

I noticed NUNS as well recently going through Macross II. But I didn't notice it as much on clothes as I did in the background of some shots. I say NUNS on the wall of a building in the latter part of the series.

I'm convinced Revoltech is some kind of evil mind control cause I made a purchase similar to yours. I'm not much of an Neon Genesis Evangelion fan, but I love the mecha design so I purchased a Revoltech Evangelion Unit 0 (Blue)

I will say one thing; it wouldn't surprise me if Bandai upped the color saturation on these Macross Frontier toys "She wore lemon..."

I can't wait to see that figure. Every time I think about the figure I've got scenes from the films going through my head and even a few now classic poses from the early comic books.
