  1. I don't see a similar silhouette. The VF-0 is narrow and the fuselage has almost no angle from front to back, just like the old VF-1. The VF-25 has a clear wedge shape with the hull extending as a wing. The VF-25 has a fuselage shape very reminiscent of the VF-19F/S. The VF-25 also has prominent vertical stabilizers that angle out past the body, unlike the VF-0 that has no lateral overhang. Another major difference in silhouette would be the nose itself. The VF-25 nose is again a wedge in silhouette; the VF-0 nose actually narrows at the mid point.
  2. Well, it's something. I'll add these figures into the profile. Thanks AC.
  3. Thanks for the translation cyde01. Some strange bits in there I can understand your comments Still, this is fantastic news. I'm very curious about the non-Valkyrie releases as well. Something worth considering is that they could be referring to space ships as well. An interesting possibility.
  4. I still don't see in the VF-25 much at all of the VF-1 except the red/white color scheme and the variable geometry wings. As far as lineage within Macross, it's more SV-51 and YF-19 than anything else other than new elements. As far as real world inspiration, the VF-25 is definitely styled after eastern European fighters whereas the VF-1 was clearly inspired by the western F-14.
  5. GAAAHHH! My opinion, skip that one and do the 19. In fact, just forget you ever knew that this...can't even say it's name for fear of ruining my love for Wolverine with negative word association
  6. Can we hear the MW time-honored cry of lameness? I can... "Small balls! Small balls!"
  7. I love the mask I guess he wants to avoid being "Macross Violin Kid"
  8. Here's a scan of Isamu's flight suit from Macross Plus: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/miscellaneous/isamu-suit.gif Also, my website has a book section with color reference if you should need it: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/books/Books-Th...ovieEdition.jpg http://www.new-un-spacy.com/books/Books-Th...MacrossPlus.jpg I hope this helps you out.
  9. Sadly, there's very little that can be done other than ask the offending person to cease. There's simply no way to protect content displayed on the internet, not even with website coding like that which has been attempted in the past (which is bypassed via direct address connection, which can be accessed by simply looking at any HTML source page in any internet browser). This is one of the dangers of the internet and I'm sorry it had to happen to my site. Such is life.
  10. Wow, wow, wow! That is an amazing model of the Falcon. That's the best model I've ever seen and given all the years of hobbists who've made them, that's saying quite a bit. Amazing work. I really like the exhaust burnson the dorsal rear ports. Very nice touch. Lovliest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
  11. I'd be delighted to assist in a project like this. I'm at work right now, but later today I can do some quick scans of the character designs from the Macross Plus books to help this most worthy cause.
  12. Of course it's just an opnion, as is your own view. We are here to share them with each other after all. Fortunately the number of people here that try to pass their opinions off as more than that are few, so we're good. I'm not too worried about Macross Frontier's popularity. I don't think it'll be a smash hit (I can always hope), but I know it'll do well and we'll all enjoy the merchandise. No doubts there
  13. I've no doubt that the beam weapons of Macross are both very useful and possess advantages over ballistic weapons. It's clear they are powerful and even the head lasers on a Valkyrie are seen completely destroying mecha in several Macross animes. However, there's this perception that ballistic weapons in Macross are somehow antiquated in comparison. This is obviously not the case if the UNS/NUNS is still utilizing ballistic weapons after almost 50 years of OverTechnology development. Since these gun pods are still capable of penetrating the Energy Converting Armor of other modern Valkyries, they aren't using conventional ballistics or muzzle velocities because those wouldn't possess the penetrating power to defeat such armor. The UNG has had working mecha-scale rail cannon technology since SDF Macross (see Destroid Defender and Destroid Monster) and I've no doubt advanced ballistics are continually used in Macross, especially as the rounds get smaller yet more destructive over time. I've mentioned this before and it remains relevant. Unfortunately, the only time we've ever been given a muzzle velocity was for the Destroid Defender in SDF Macross. Personally, I think a lot of this would be solved if Kawamori were to give a muzzle velocity for the gunpods, but I'm not holding my breath
  14. YUMMY! I love that picture of Sheryl
  15. This looks great for a start! Wow. I love the anime-style cel shading. I bet you're going to get a ton of requests once this is done. All the Valkyrie modelers will want to use your figure for their cockpit
  16. Just another reason to get off this rock as soon as we can.
  17. I'll let the quality of Macross comment for itself. Compared to the bottom feeding of Shadow Chronicles, Macross Frontier is high art. The first episode of Macross Frontier blows the entire Robotech franchise out of the water and into an oil spill.
  18. It looks okay but I can't say I'm into it. I don't really care all that much for the character itself and I didn't like the first Ang Lee film either. Edward Norton's performance will probably turn out to be the most important reason to see this film and casting Tim Roth as the Abomination is smart casting too. In regards to the character design of Abomination itself, I'm not crazy about the look. I think the CG artist on the film must be an Id Software fan because this monster looks a little too Doom/Quake-ish
  19. Part Two before Part One...how avante garde Not a bad little video. The Franz Ferdinand track "Take me Out" was quite appropriate given the subject matter
  20. Who said anything about "masterpiece"? Macross 7 was the bottom of the barrel; chances of a good Macross production are much better if Kawamori and Co. stay away from wasting time remaking M7. As for Macross Frontier, it might turn out great or lousy, but so far I'm enjoying it.
  21. Seems to me private military contractors like SMS would be tasked with many varied defense contracts and would have an large assortment of materiel. It wouldn't surprise me if they have VB-6 Konigs, VA-3 Invaders and all kinds of other stuff.
  22. Macross 7 should stay in the past and does not deserve revisitation. Best to learn from the mistakes and move onward with something like...Macross Frontier
  23. It does make sense that there's a need for heavier firepower. The Valkyries seemed ill-equipped to battle the large red Vajra. The imminent appearance of the heavy combat VB-6 Konig and that large beam cannon thing we see the VF-25 using in the manga would suggest your theory has plenty of merit.
