  1. DAMM I miss my Ozma 29. I loved that thing!
  2. @wm cheng May we please see a full topside picture good sir of your panel lining and a quick note about what method you went with for the DX? I haven't decided if I'm going to do mine yet. Yours appears to be fairly light and not over done.
  3. Fighter mode looks absolutely terrible! What were they thinking??? Looks like a $15 dollar toy.
  4. Soooo much coolness going on there with the classic Predator figs! Love it!
  5. Wow! Incredible details @wm cheng! I hear you on the magnifier glasses! I pretty much have to wear them now when I'm doing stuff at my indoor bench! Sucks to get old!
  6. ....and the media chick just keeps on filming!!!
  7. I can't wait to see the outcome of this paint job!
  8. D and now E are coming right along today!
  9. now THAT I would go far in a heartbeat, even though Arcadia's pricing on the 0D is ludicrous, it does look gorgeous.
  10. WIMP!!! ...you gotta just flip that switch and TAKE THE PAIN! It's all part of the 80's man! No pain, no gain! Your toys made you EARN the right to play with them!
  11. In order of difficulty and toxic fumes you should definitely wear a full respirator for are: Lacquer, then enamel, then acrylics. Acrylics especially Tamiya are incredibly easy to use/mix and easy to clean up with acrylic thinner, windex or water. You can even spray them inside if you like. However, it took me a while to get them down because you HAVE to do it in thin layers, lots of layers. They are also easily damaged after you paint by greasy fingers or scratches from things. Enamels are in the middle -- you can cover with one or two passes and call it a day. Little harder to deal with when mixing and cleaning though. Don't recommend doing in the house. Spraying lacquers sucks, it's hard to clean and stinks to high heaven buuut, it gives you a rock hard base coat usually to build up other paints on top of for detailing. I suggest YouTube for some great AB videos. You can learn a lot there! Also, if you can afford them, Tamiya TS spray cans are VERY good. Almost AB quality for just painting one color on kit parts. Dries quickly and very hard finish. I love them.
  12. I use everything under the sun in mine, acrylics, enamels, lacquer paint, clear coats. The trick is CLEANING IT 110% every time. That's my biggest problem, usually I THINK it's clean but nope, gotta clean it again! I will say I avoid spraying Future through it. That led to some nightmarish sticky problems way down the road after I did it, and yes, I believed to be fully clean.
  13. I have 3. One old single action I don't really use anymore, but can for clear coats. A cheaper double action syphon fed that I don't really use much anymore unless I'm painting something pretty darn big. And then I have my Iwata gravity fed go to AB for pretty much everything else.
  14. See I don't fear water slide decals at all. , I've gotten pretty good over the years. It's just these that are made to wrap around 3 dimensional shapes and conform down into recesses. It's stupid. On flat surfaces or just over panel lines they are great. I'll quite complaining now!
  15. No. Just No. I'm getting Trekked out. These kits are a real battle. I'm ready to finish these up and get back to my Star Destroyer and other projects that have been languishing for some years now...
  16. "...that no talent ass clown"...floors me every time. LOVE that movie
  17. Top came out very good. I had 1 boo boo on the bottom but that was my fault. FUN FACT! Did you know that with enough Micro Sol, your Perfect Plastic Putty EVEN UNDER a primer coat or 3, 3 paint coats and a clearcoat WILL soften and crumble making your saucer rim look like complete sh*t again?!!!! I love and hate this hobby so much... LOL! Nothing a little sanding and touch up paint won't fix but still.. FML.
  18. I swear.... This is the kind of sh*t that just happens to me. Overnight in the garage, I left the freshly clear coated engineering section to dry overnight. Come back this morning to some kind of wrinkled up clear coat and paint. What the actual F*Ck?! I've never seen THAT before. Temp change??? It was unseasonably cool last night here. I got no other explanation. Saucer is fine, but it was inside thank God. I've sanded off the bad bits. Back to the paint bench today. FML.
  19. Loving the stainless steel mounts!
