  1. Crow T Robot predicted the future when he said Christmas movies should have an action sequence...
  2. Strangely enough I recently started reading the early BT books again. Then again I waited till they were available on Kindle to start reading them again. My old paperbacks are long gone - probably three houses ago.
  3. A decent ending, not great but very good. With enough unanswered threads (plenty actually) to fuel a big mystery for a few more seasons to come.
  4. That is the entire problem. Disney has more yawn then Must See TV with Star Wars. These are not cheap shows to make so they need to make something that will draw more eyeballs to D+ and bring them back to the movies in theaters. With the first season of Mandalorian they were doing that but not really since then.
  5. That is the other problem for this, when SB came out SW was a hot property. Making a parody of something that has been parodying itself is a losing proposition. If the main character of SB was Baby Yogurt though...
  6. I doubt it. We can't have Bill, John or Joan in this movie, Rick is almost certainly not going to show either. So they are banking on the nostalgia of the name and the last time Mel tried that was a dumpster fire.
  7. That is what I was going to say. DC, yup they tried to be gritty and fell on their face. MCU for the most part (even Loki in the end) was mostly good folks doing good things for the good of all.
  8. It just is. If I did not have Disney+ anyway I would not be watching the show, but since I do have D+ I am watching it. If it were not for Doctor Who (which has been great overall) I would probably have dropped D+
  9. Excellent episode, really looking forward to the last one of the season. I've heard that viewership is not what was planned. I hope that does not stop production on another season. Finally, I forgot most of the callback this one has, I only just started remembering the original when I started typing this.
  10. Yup. You can trust them to purposely bring children into a war zone, heck to even be commanders in that war. Anyway, the main sin of this show is that it is boring. Other stuff is forgivable if the characters were at all interesting, but they are not.
  11. Mae's wishes are irrelevant (Osha's too) since they are minors their parents are the ones that should make that decision. The witches living outside of the jurisdiction of the Republic should not be under any of the Republic's laws or enforcement by any agents of the Republic. That "outlawed" religion is only outlawed in the Republic. But that is another trademark of an "evil" organization, selective enforcement of their rules outside of their jurisdiction. I mean slavery is not considered worth stamping out outside the borders of the Republic.
  12. To be fair to the witches in this show. They were absolutely spot on 100% correct to think the Jedi were going to take the kids away. The Jedi habit of taking kids from their legal guardians makes them the evil ones. It should not matter what the kids think about it, there is a reason we have age of consent laws or customs across the entire world. What I really want to know is what kind of stone they used to build their fortress, every last witch except the two kids died from a fire in a stone building?
  13. Maybe - the good stuff, otherwise known as The Mandalorian, gets turned into movies. The other stuff stays on D+ along with the second (and last season) of Andor which is also good stuff but...
  14. Yup - that is probably the best ending of a Doctor Who story ever. And Ncuti Gatwa's emotion at the end is incredibly well done.
  15. I'd be surprised if the events of 73 don't feature heavily in the rest of the upcoming season. Sort of like Bad Wolf did (but more in your face) to the first season/series. The boogey monster being actual boogies was great fun but yeah the episode itself fell flat.
  16. There will eventually be another Mad Max movie, no need to worry about that. Hollywood (currently) can't stay away from a franchise for long.
  17. One of the good parts of The Clone Wars TV series is that you got to see the more human side of Ben Kenobi. He obviously has a thing for that senator lady but can't/won't let it go anywhere. Jedi could be like Spock (in a good story/episode) but the writing rarely gets past the outside stoicism or when it tries it falls flat (like Luke in the sequel debacle)
  18. It could work if they plotted out the entire run of the show in advance, showing the final downfall of civilization. Who am I kidding, your right - it would end up the biker gang of the month show eventually.
  19. Everyone knows that they are putting more thought into The Force and exactly how it works then George ever has? To misquote JMS The Force works at the speed of plot.
  20. Nah - the force is nothing compared to the power of CGI overdose. (or to put it another way, the powers and abilities of the Jedi are directly proportional to FX ability - while their IQ appears to be directly the opposite)
  21. Having just gone through a cancer scare myself I don't wish that on anyone. That said his "documentary" was anything but. And anyone who thought (or thinks) fast food was healthy needed some serious education.
  22. Not nearly enough advertising in the right places for that. Outside of this group and D+ I never hear of the show. The problem with the Jedi is they went from being Wise, humble, kindly Obi Wan and somewhat cantankerous Yoda to a bunch of pompous jerks that thought they knew it all (and knew nothing) in the prequals. This upcoming show looks like more of the same.
