I remember when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman and thought it would never work. I'll wait to pass judgement.

I thought the Norris camp comedy is what made the second movie. Face it, these are over the hill stars getting together with some newer faces for one last hurrah (or three...). Plot and character development are not needed, Lone Wolf jokes are though! Have to agree on Cage, he was NOT an eighties action star and certainly not a newer face. If they have him as a helicopter pilot that dies off in the first five minutes that would be good though. (I forget the name of the movie I'm thinking of and it is not worth the bother of figuring it out)

Great! (OK, so perhaps I should say that over in the guilty pleasures thread but I liked both of these movies so far)

A submarine really is the closest "Earth" environment to running a spaceship. One mistake can kill of everyone and the environment is totally unforgiving. Then add the ability to stay in a confined area for months on end.

The Wolverine FILMS (X-Men Universe)
Dynaman replied to antibiotictab's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It is a normal life he wanted, not death. (I'm not defending it as a great movie, but it was decent) Even the normal life he didn't really want, he only thought he did. -
But "Pop Chaser" was pretty darn good.

I'll have to disagree with the lot of ya, Little China is a terrible film, and I love it. "The Thing" is pretty good and I like it too though.

This show is still not what I would ever watch(*), but since they got past the Ice King follies it is decent. (*) - my kids watch it, otherwise I would never know anything about it.

I hope it does well, the original Muppet movies went downhill quite quickly. The Stage Manager's dance bit looked good at any rate.

Excalibur was THE only good Fantasy movie till Lord of the Rings(*). Hard to fault the anachronism or plate mail when the thing is fantasy to begin with. The Arthur movie that started this thread was pretty bad. (*) - Princess Bride was excellent, but it was a comedy. Sword and the Sorcerer gets an honorable mention for being sooooo bad it was good. "Hawk the Slayer" falls into the almost decent category too, if only for the rapid firing Elf and the machinegun crossbow.

The Wolverine FILMS (X-Men Universe)
Dynaman replied to antibiotictab's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There are a few lines in the movie that make it sound like she was just using the whole thing for her own purpose, and not just for money. It appears that quite a bit was cut from the film for some reason. This is not a bad thing, the film we ended up with focused on Wolverine's coming to grips with killing Jean Grey, as it should be. For an example of what happens when too much is left on the screen I would point to "The Lone Ranger". -
The Wolverine FILMS (X-Men Universe)
Dynaman replied to antibiotictab's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Have to agree, I doubt it was the actress' fault in any way. The character existed only to be a baddie. Even the main villain had a nebulous motivation at best - or at least it seems like scenes detailing that character's motivation seemed to be missing... -
Space Pirate Captain Harlock" CG Movie, Autumn 2013
Dynaman replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Netflix had it available on DVD, at least it did. The problem is the quality of the video is poor at best, the final battle scene is nearly unwatchable due to how dark it is - the ships can rarely be seen it is so muddy.- 182 replies

Kryptonite, it all boils down to Kryptonite. That plus we know that by the end of the film Batman and Superman will be working together to take down Joker and Lex Luthor.

A show about the downfall of the Protoculture would be interesting, ooops, just remembered that it would involve those creatures from Macross 7.
