Just redoing the animation for the original series would be fantastic! Maybe toss the Robotech them song in there, but they could certainly freshen up the soundtrack around the dialogue. The original animation certainly hasn't stood up well over time. As for a continuation of the original character, I would love for them to show what happened to the Megaroad. Hikaru and Misa (Rick and Lisa) are the characters I started with and I'd like to see it resolved. Yes, in DYRL they went off to space which was a good ending for them, voyaging out to the stars, but then to say they just disappeared opened it right up again. Add to that there were the hints and teases in Frontier, which leads one to think they had been planning something of a continuation. At the time anyway. But yes, I would like it they moved away from love triangles. Just a straight romance in among the action where there is no 'do you or don't you like her, or her' would be refreshing.

Well, in my anxiousness for the new season to show up, I decided to redecorate a corner of my room! Thankfully got my Canon Pro9000 working again and printed off some 11"/17" pics. The two Yamato pics are showing a bit of gradient along the lines, but that's invisible from a few feet away. If I had some larger file I could probably print some perfect ones out but they're more than good enough! And up in the corner. And the printer, which I got for a steal off of eBay. Don't know if I'll do anymore, but that's my Yamato Corner! Thom

I think I still have half a dozen half used of those in a drawer somewhere!. But yeah, when I came back to the hobby, it was Tamiya Cement and Model Master cement with the metal applicator.

Yeah, those connections look horrifying. Looks like a nice solution for the nacelle sag though. I have a couple of these on the Shelf o' Doom without plans of doing any of them yet. If I did though, I'd probably putty over all those grid lines. Life size they'd be like stepping into a ditch!

Lovely collection. All I have left are two old Bandai 3-n-1 Valks that were painted black over time (and are missing more pieces than they have) and an old SDF-1 model in the same condition.

Hah. so I wasn't the only one! Makes sense. I can imagine the idea coming into being... 'Hey, let's put the city in the boot!' I read what you said, and I'm looking at these pics and thinking you photographed the wrong model... Seriously, it looks great! Whenever I get to blowing the dust off the box on mine, I hope it looks half as good as that!

As the other say, I can barely see it. In fact, when the ARMD is on place (and on its side at that!) it'll probably be even less so.

I remember when first watching Robotech that I was thinking the city was in the center mass of the ship. Never thought it was in the leg. And now I wish it wasn't. For me, the leg should be full of engine parts, and since the legs move in one piece excepting for the knee-joint, why does the city keep getting messed up during the transformation..? I think when I build mine I'll just use the shutters as you did and just keep thinking the city is in the middle, where most of the moving parts are. And yes, it may not be all too accurate, but it is very impressive! Real nice seeing two eras of your model-making prowess on display. Thom

That's great! I can't wait to see that in action. Like the base a lot. What you could do is put the partial letters for ARMD 01 or 02 running off the edge of it. Maybe even some battle damage or scarring. Real nice looking factory Peng. Great work! And some real nice work on Buzz. Makes we want to watch Toy Story again!

Maybe take half of a globe of the world and use that as the base.

Thank you, I had not known of that technique! That build may not be to far off after all! A good rule of thumb is that it is only 'butchered' if it is seen on the outside! Those hands will look good too!

Before the Covid, I bought quite a few from them. Always had good service, though now their shipping prices just about equal the item price!

Yeah, the Madman one is full of striations. It'll take a lot to prime and sand, fill and prime and sand, and then maybe sand and fill and prime. Though I do hear that Badger 3D Primer does a good job... For the new kit, Starship Modeler Store still has a few at $50 before S/H. They do deliver fast though. The Eagelmoss XL Enterprise is over $70.

I'm right with you there on all counts! It's too huge for the previous 1/1000 fleet and too small to fit the AMT 1/500-ish of the Refit/Reliant. I mean, they could start making new molds to fit the 'new' 1/1000 and make new Refits and Reliants and Excelsior and... Barring that though, the only options I can think of to get a 12 inch Discoprise is to either get the Eaglemoss XL (extra large) Enterprise or contact Madman Shipyards. He sells 3D prints of the Discoprise that fits the earlier /1000 scale. http://www.madshipyard.com/ Or, if you have a friend with a 3D or resin printer...

Yeah, Luther is the least emotionally developed, because he was reliant on Hargreeve for so long, and then shipped off to the moon where his only friend was a plant! And great point @Dynaman. A Force of Nature is an apt description.

For someone who says he doesn't have much skill, you made a great looking display. I love the homage to the scene and I'll second, or third, that the choice of light gray over white was a nice one.

Just watched the season a few weeks ago, and I really liked it. All the character are really interesting in their dysfunctional way, with a lot of problems coming by how mishandled they were by their 'Father.' The one I liked best however was Vanya. She is a very downtrodden character, though I wouldn't characterize her as a super villain, but more of a tragic 'villain.' And at this point I use villain loosely. She was a tool that was used and discarded, disparaged for most of her life as her siblings were celebrated, and then used again by the one person who seemed to openly care about her. That she had no context for control is pretty clear. There was a point in which all of it could have been defused - but...
