@joscasle Your F-14 looks pot-on cool! Miss that old bird. @peter Ah, the joys of box-scale. For them being different scales and so small is the reason I prefer /1000. And very nice on the Enterprise, though I was surprised to see the amount of flash on the parts. Is that the newer boxing with the ST-II battle-damage decals?

@pengbuzz Judging by your Macross factory, I'd say you could recreate the whole thing fairly well!

!!!!!MELDA!!!!!! Please have more than one scene...

I like that news and am really looking forward to seeing this, even more now. One of the best scenes in the crossover was Miller's Flash showing up at Star Labs.

@pengbuzz Looking good Peng. Have you thought about recording any episode sounds and piping it through the Center? @joscasle That is one good looking VF! Very cool.

That is one bad-ass looking gun!

That is a lovely pair of sisters. Nice work! And I'll second that your photos are awesome!

@Dobber Thanks! I really need to get back to it at some point. @arbit Really neat work on that Hikaru figure. Nice.

@peter Your Grissom and BOP look great! They don't look just thrown together, esp with the paint on both. The BOP especially. Nicely done.

I just ignore all the scale nonsense too. It was a stupid decision in the first place to muck about with it, and that all started with the 2009 Star Trek. (Good movie, IMO.) I think I recall them saying that that movie's Enterprise was the same size as a Galaxy Class ship!?! But then it would need to be in order fit the refinery/engine room on it... Nowadays, I just look at them as all being the same size as the TOS ship, and don't give it another thought. As long as they look good size-wise next to each other, then I'm happy. And since the Disco Enterprise model is basically the same size as the old AMT kit, that means to me that the '1/1000' Pikerprise is really around /600 to /650 in scale. It looks good beside the old kit, it looks good beside the Kelvin, and it'll probably look good beside the Grissom. So me happy! I bought both of the /2500 scale kits, more in the spirit of showing my interest in the genre and future models than any real intent to build them. But, the whole size things comes into play with these too, only this time in a good way. I don't really collect any /2500 scale ships, but if I view them as 1/1000 scale parts and bash them together... I still haven't finished it yet, but this is my idea for a 1/1000 escort destroyer, the Sprite. Pikerprise's nacelles, sensor dish and shuttle bay, and Shenzou's main hull and struts. In fact, if they ever do come out with a '1/1000' Shenzou then this could be done in large scale also. As to using different parts, such as with the bridge dome, have you seen Modelwerkshop yet? https://modelwerkshop.com/ They can be a little pricey for their full conversion kits, but their small parts, such as new bridge decks or saucer mounted dishes, are priced pretty good.

Me too! That is exactly what I'm thinking, and how I view the '1/1000' Pikerprise and the Kelvin, so they should all fit well together.

@Dobber No problem at all!! @peter And at that size, it better be grooved plastic.

I can see them having it set in some treaty about the number of ships that would be wave-motion gun capable. Like the Washington Naval Treaty's cap on battleships per nation. Gatlantis certainly showed that the tech is needed, but Earth showed that it needs to be controlled.

Jurassic World Dominion (Jurassic World 3)
Thom replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, people rarely do intelligent things... And yes, in all reality the correct reaction to the dinos dying would have been, 'oh well, that's sad. But we can make new ones!' But then again, that was the decision that was made. It wasn't they who let the dinos out, it was the child, and she made a childish decision. I can see in the next movie, if they haven't been vilified merely for being there, that they should be involved, maybe indirectly, in catching as many dinos as possible. And I imagine any predators in particular...- 57 replies

The later types of both planes do have similar lines, what with the lowered back and the bubble canopy. You can be forgiven! As for the Grissom-build, I didn't bother with those edge decals either. Far too fiddly for me.

Wow, they went all out on that! Any size you can imagine, catered to already.

No, Mk XVI XIV (14) Spitfire. It's Airfix's new-tool in the Civilian Schemes boxing. An alright molding, but with problems I don't think a new-mold should have. If I build another Race 80, it'll be with the Academy kit.
