  1. People are probably just sick of hearing it-hasn't it been covered a bunch of times for a variety of t.v. shows, movies, etc? The latest example would be the watered down version of 'Dragon Tattoo for the US market. I personally don't mind it but I can see where others are annoyed. However if I hear it in a Thundercats 2011 episode I will have to kill someone. As for the new BSG? Eh. Guess we'll just wait and see, but no #6, Racetrack, or at least a Boomin Boomer or similar piece of eye candy doesn't bode well for me...
  2. Whether it's too close to the comic or not isn't a point that concerns me. Now, a hooded ninja character with a gleaming sword and two pet walkers, or a group of characters who are suddenly lamenting Shane's death when no one really seemed to care either way for him up to this point makes me think, "forced, rushed, bad writing/story planning," etc. I've been a staunch supporter of the television show, fending off savage attacks from comic book fanbois that are almost like a group of hungry walkers, but they've left things off on a very odd note...
  3. I'll be happy if they did away with the wacky boob-motion programming that they featured in the last DOA. I don't need Tecmo and their independently gyrating and jiggling breasts to remind me that I think about mammary glands all day...
  4. Wow I didn't know that; damn me for canceling my cable, lol.
  5. I'm remembering anywhere from $50 to $70 dollars. Again, I remember them at clearance for as low as $20. I picked up 5 of them LOL. Now, if I could just FIND them...
  6. I remember those Trendmaster sets on clearance for like $20 each back in the day...
  7. What made me go "hmmm" was Rick's allowing he and Shane to go out as far as they did; Rick knew what was going on, what was going to happen. I guess he knew they needed to play their issues out to their conclusion...
  8. Trendmasters is reissuing their '97 version of Voltron?
  9. My apologies for posting away from the diesel topic, but I need your guy's opinion on color. You see, after many years my '69 Charger is finally getting its paint and body work done, and I need to select a color. It's been orange since I've owned it and everyone including the body shop is insisting I pick a different color. My personal finalists were plum crazy (a deep purple), sublime (lime-greenish-neon-yellow sort of thing) or just keeping it orange. There were some suggestions of painting it flat black or silver, not unlike the Charger used in Blade and the Fast and Furious movies, but right now "everyone" seems to be doing those colors. Also, I was thinking about getting a fiberglass hood and keeping it flat black. So what do you guys think? Any opinions and suggestions are appreciated...
  10. I'm looking to get a Toshiba, lol. But you're right-shouldn't be too much of a hassle. As for games without physical copies, some Steam games won't work unless you're connected to the intrawebs, whether you have a hard copy of the game or not, like the latest Alien Vs Predator for example. There are ways around that but for the most part it seems that internet connectivity is more important than actual physical copies; I say boo, to that...
  11. Being a laptop are there any other concerns you have to take into account when reinstalling the OS, or is it just a reformat and load? Isn't some of the preinstalled software necessary to run some of the laptop's crucial functions? How do you tell what to reinstall and what to discard?
  12. Yes! Lol. Yeah it's pretty clear what the scientist in the CDC said to Rick. Pretty depressing, huh...
  13. Really? How come? I never like them because I wrote them off as Tekka-posers...
  14. Oy vey, what an episode. Meanwhile my aforementioned theory on what's happening with the non-bitten is about to make me some money...
  15. Cool. Someone wake me up when Evil is up for pre-order...
  16. Jesus Christ. I just saw this catastrophe of a movie. He took the awe-inspring story of the Tuskegee airmen, a struggling group of minorities trying to make their own way in a bloody, global campaign, and turns it into a virtual puppet show where the acting is so wooden, the story so uninteresting you'd think we were watching Episode 3 in the 1940's. Why wasn't Hayden Cristensen in this? That would've been the icing on this dead cake. People all over the world piss and moan about George Lucas all day long, but I've never had a problem with him, his works, or the plundering of his fans until now. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING about this movie was so bad it was almost unwatchable. I kept hoping for Warbird candy/porn to save my eyes but the aerial sequences were so cartoonish and about as inspiring as me "wooshing" scale models around my apartment re-enacting dog fights that the real fight was to keep from falling asleep. Hell, even Pearl Harbor the movie managed to keep things exciting with their portrayal of the bombing and the dogfight sequences over Europe and that movie was made almost 10 years ago, and dare I say that Pearl Harbor's CGI orgy looked better?! This was the worst $12.50 I have spent in my entire life...
  17. ^^^^^ I've got money riding on that theory! None of my friends seem to think so...
  18. Nicer than the Staples and Best Buy models and a much better value, obviously. I see the only advantage to buying at Staples or Best (Worst) Buy is being able to return it ASAP if there's a problem. I don't know how people deal with returning big screen tv's and all of that to Amazon and wherever else when there's a problem. Another consideration is size-I'm pretty sure all of the laptops I'm looking at are monster machines that I bet I'll have trouble finding a bag for also. Personally, I prefer the higher power and lower costs associated with desktops over similar laptops, but being able to lug a PC/blu-ray player around is nice. Hmmmm....well to me that's pretty much a deal breaker. I'll have to stick with the egg...
  19. Wow, thanks guys. What do you guys think of Tigerdirect, the company itself? Somehow I don't get that warm, fuzzy, safe in the bosom of my mother feeling like I get when I deal with Newegg. If I limit myself to buying from Newegg, here are some of the candidates I was thinking about: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834214613 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834214492
  20. Just make sure that La Douche stays out of it and you've already guaranteed it partial success...
  21. Or the 2009 Star Trek movie. Or the new Thundercats cartoon. Changing a legendary, established franchise with millions of frothy-mouthed tattoo bearing followers is risky business but done properly, it can be just as legendary and provocative as the original material...
  22. I dunno, I liked the Last Starfighter. You have to appreciate it for the 80's relic that it is...
