    Um....very well then I'll settle for some back story on Jonesy the cat. At least give me some story on the cat. In all seriousness having a story that deviates from Alien is FINE by me. Why? Because I'm all for another epic science fiction/creature story as the rest of you are. It was mentioned before that the vague references to the Alien universe were to draw Alien fans like myself to the picture; I think they could have accomplished that without the, dare I call it, "misleading" tie in. Xeno presence or not, I am highly anticipating this movie...

    Agreed, but then....why make any references to Alien at all, vague as those references may be? Star Trek comes to mind also. Maybe I'm not being critical enough but the inconsistency of 'tech doesn't bother me; if they had had the cinematic technique to feature cool technologies back-in-the-day they would have, a la Star Wars, etc...

    You can tell by the previews that it's awful. When the trailers started appearing I thought it was one of those "fake" trailers that movie theaters use to remind you to turn off your phone and all that...

    Well, despite what we may think of the movie it seems that Ridly Scott and his team have been saying that Prometheus IS a prequel to Alien.......but not REALLY. To add to that, it's been said that if a sequel is made then that movie will move even further away from the Alien universe. So the 'tech and whatever else we may find to be incongruent with the established Alien universe may be irrelevant.....or NOT...

    C'mon man that's the Macrossworld way: weeks, months, even years before the release of an anime, movie, or toy there are pages and endless threads about the sky falling, Mayan calendar, end of the world type of talk. Regardless, it looks like we're going to get some tentacle violation type stuff going on and if Noomi and Charlize are possible victims I'm all for this movie...

    Are the toys even out? Mog you're probably right about the toy thing-we should've started seeing the toys by now, but who knows. Again, based on what my friend said it shouldn't take more than 2 to 6 months to make it 3D; there's something else going on...

    A friend of mine who's in the industry told me it shouldn't take more than 2 to 6 months to convert a movie into 3D. Furthermore, since movies of this genre are all about reaping/raping money from people why didn't they design this movie to be 3D in the first place? Maybe they're going to CG more ninjas into the movie. You can never have enough ninjas...

    Yeah looks like they're taking a totally different direction with the story-negating what happens in the final moments of Aliens and establishing their own continuity away from Alien 3, which is sure to please 99% of all Alien fans. Where did all of those other Marines on the Sulaco come from? This thing's a year away so who knows what'll happen but I hope they find more environments to wage the story in than the interior of the ships...

    I always loved the Andromeda design but could never understand why they didn't "pimp" that ship out completely; it is a "Super-Space-Dreadnought" class of a ship, after all. Was that Gideon I saw in episode 1 or 2?
