  1. @transjet - you seem to very knowledgeable on the items-what do you think of this information on this site? (it is in one of the messages) https://www.etoland.co.kr/plugin/mobile/board.php?bo_table=etohumor02&wr_id=118937 참고로 이 표절작을 만든 건 바로 스폰서 때문이다. For reference, it is the sponsor who made this plagiarism. To Kim Cheong-gi, who had suffered a frustration because his previous work, Little Eosaurus, was not successful, Popeye Science showed a Japanese plastic model, that is, a Valkyrie model, and said that he would pay the production cost to make a robot animation. This fake model made by Popeye Science was incredibly excellent in quality and admired that it was a work at the time, including complete transformation into Fighter, Gawwork, and Battle Lloyd, as well as maintaining a posture without the aid of a stand in any form. There is a low tide that a Japanese Bandai has agreed not to question plagiarism... And Popeye Science proudly put the brand of JOON's on the product it used to be a counterfeit, and even exported it to the subcontractor as a Valkyrie product (...). Those who bought it at the time were ridiculously enough to leave a comment that the quality of this fake plate was better than that made in Japan. However, there is a tremendous secret story about this fake toy. In fact, the original maker of the Macross VF-1J toy was Takatokusa in Japan, and a few years later, Macross Annie was renamed as Robotec and aired. Robotec Annie was incredibly popular locally and tried to reproduce toys to sell them locally, but it was a long time since toy maker Takatoku went bankrupt and decomposed into the air. . However, it was learned that Popeye Sciences made and sold counterfeits in a timely manner, and under the condition that the officials were dispatched to Korea to confirm the local situation and tolerate plagiarism, Popeye Sciences later directly obtained a formal license and acquired a toy under the name of Robotec. Was exported. Among the quantities produced after Robotec, there was a response from the Macross maker that it was okay to use the name Space Gandam V for domestic use, and the quantity produced until the early 1990s was continuously produced under the name <Space Gandam V>. Later, when <Sort!Robotech> was aired on SBS, the name Space Gandam V was discarded, and it was sold in Korea under the name and packaging of Robotec, which was exported to the United States.

  4. A live(?) shopping site with some other angle pics The website is tricky to navigate around...sometimes it sends you to the m. mobile site-so you need to remove the m. prefix to get the enhanced pics http://totoy.com/product/detail.html?product_no=281&cate_no=1&display_group=3
  5. @transjet....would you happen to know anything about these Korean Joke Machine toys? They are pretty wild! (the website I downloaded the images from now says 404)

ah..but that is the Suzuki monster on the poster. In the book check out the Takani monster 2 pack I think it said the no detail one might have been used on the side of one of the boxes.

He was also suspected of doing the detail- up on Takani's 1/160 Monster...at least that is what the note on the pic said. I hadn't ever noticed there were 2 variants before.

Suzuki sadly passed away in 2020, but they have an interview with his son. When I read this except it broke my heart a little. Yes Takani's art is always highly regarded and first mentioned, but Suzuki's talent was truly incredible and appreciated. One example(my favorites of his)-you cannot look at a the Imai Legioss packaging and not have your draw drop. These pictures are unmatched.

For anyone on the fence about spending the 5500 yen + 3000 in shipping....DO IT. I got mine from Amazon Japan. This is not just a rehash of the same old line or cels we've seen so many times before in a 'New Macross Book coming', this has real-honest-to-goodness new items never seen before. There is a comprehensive list of modeling promotional materials and the kits themselves, most with little bits of information. There are multiple engaging interviews and lots of information-and you don't need to know Japanese. Grab your phone, point the Google Translate app at a paragraph, rinse and repeat. Auto-Translate has come a long way-and this book is a great 'read'. This is the book I've personally been waiting for since I became a Macross fan, I can't recommend it enough. You will not be disappointed!

Well Ron from GTC did mention the A&B types were released in the US only, so it is understandable they are extremely rare in Japan. I remember my friend Seiichi who used to run all the sales here in the early 2000s was also very surprised to see them He was the original Macross Otaku King, so I was shocked he had not seen them before, as he had seen everything released. They are still quite hard to find here!

In the Package Variation section, and later in the release section the Imai 1/5000 was not just considered or is unconfirmed. It was released! We know at least 2 boxes exist...the one in the catalogs that was on display at the trade show in 84, and this one below that showed up on YJ in 2018 (I lost-this was the pic from the auction)

Still waiting on my BOOK...but that could be for Imai #33-the Generic Zentradi Soldier It was scrapped for the VF-1A Gerwalk in its place (#33) but then later reborn as Quamzin #79?? With Artwork by Takani this time?
