I don't believe it's meant to be any sort of representation of the valks from the show...it's a tip of the hat to directly to the takatoku first release vf1j and 40 years of vf1's At least that is what I think of the new color scheme.

I personally think that pic is of the orig release and not the taka gray they show in the product pics. It just seems too white to be the camera causing the effect.

I think they got the gray right to mimic the Takatoku original release, but I sure as heck hope they consider selling this in BATTTROID mode, and with window cutouts We've seen they can sell this thing in battroid mode, and they can do windows, so lets make this happen Bandai!

Right now its impossible to know the actual quality. The demo video has the true side by sides in a small 3 inch windows, so not really helpful except to see the colors are more vibrant. We assume other elements in the video are the 4k scan, but some look just as blurry as the old 2k scan, and of course the upload goes through youtube's video process algorithm to conserve video space. The static pictures that were used in the links above are 720p pics saved from the website, and again we don't really know the amount of processing that might have been done. We all have best guesses (de-grained/noise reduction/AI enhancement) but until we get more marketing material who knows. Luckily its only a few months away so the wait isn't going to be that long. Even if you waited until some reviews come out I'm sure it will be available for purchase at all the normal places we get stuff from. With the 16x9 format, I really hope for the english subs they put them UNDER the picture in the dead-space and not overlaid on the video. I'd love for them to include the old Space Fortress Macross dub, just for fun, but that won't happen. And no video extras sound like they are included, aside from the 2 promos TV commercials or the TV Special program would be super cool to include. I would say mushy is probably normal. I only have one VT-1 (broken tailfin) and it definitely feels off in quality. My arms are ok, not great, but I can't even clip in the back support spine to the back of the nosecone, pops right out. In my opinion it is one of the coolest looking valks, but one with the worst fitment I've experienced so far for the normal vf-1 parts I'm anxiously waiting to see how the 50th anniversary ends up...with all the differing materials/finishes, what new sorts of fun will we experience with slots and pegs and clips.

Well what do you expect from a toy made in 1985, jeez, its almost 40 years old 😛 (sorry-we are getting hit with some really lame shipped products lately)
