  1. Hobbysearch has large official photos! http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10242338
  2. After seeing this film, you don't need to go into space anymore.
  3. There better be aftermarket decals, too, because Moebius managed to get the type font wrong.
  4. Awesomestest movie I've seen since Inception. 3D was invented for this kind of experience.
  5. The landing gear is still pretty stubby, but I'll go for an in flight display anyway.
  6. Galactica & Raider at the All Japan Hobby & Model Show: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BWQyPDNCAAE_nxO.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BWQyicLCcAAoWMP.jpg:large The Raider is studio scale...
  7. Drool... The canopy profile seems to be indeed higher than on the Bandai kit.
  8. If I don't go mad somewhere along the way painting all those energy lines that'll be Kotobukiya's Orbital Frame Jehuty from Zone of the Enders.
  9. I can't help thinking that compared to the Pegasus, the Galactica looks like the far more advanced ship. Great Viper - will you have a go at the classic kits, too? - Jehuty on my workbench:
  10. Definitely the same kit - look at the bridge. The hard lighting in the previous photos really brought out the worst in this model. So while technically it could have been a better kit, it might look o.k. in real life. I wouldn't recommend a panel wash, though...
  11. This is the SD Jehuty from Union Creative http://mecha-guy.blogspot.de/2013/10/union-creative-anubis-zone-of-enders.html
  12. I watch occasional re-runs of "Demolition Man" just for the scene where he gives Sandra Bullock the knitted sweater he made for her the night before.
  13. Kotobukiya's Anubis is released I'm still painting energy lines on my Jehuty...
  14. @all - thanks again The base color is lightened up and thinned, then I spray very close to the surface in an irregular pattern. You can see the effect better in this pic of my Kotobukiya Aaliyah, especially on the legs.
  15. Buy a ton of the 1/72 kits to give them some incentive...
  16. Thanks for the appreciation, guys. wm cheng, I did indeed spray a lighter color in the center of each panel, in a slightly cloudy application. It is very subtle on the model and I'm surprised it even showed up in the photos. Panel lines were accentuated with dark grey gouache. I chose colors with a reduced contrast compared to the original russian scheme so the beautiful lines of the aircraft didn't get disrupted too much.
  17. Due to massive cost overruns, the VF-11 program had to be downgraded to conventional engines. It was either that or being replaced by drones...
