Thom Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I'll watch it and probably like it - but where did the kid come from? Why is there another kid?!

GreenGuy42 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Trailer just felt so underwhelming. I’ll see what early reactions are once screening starts.

electric indigo Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I can already say that I love the color grading they did.
Dynaman Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I don't think I can handle any more stupid people doing stupid things. The plots for these movies take it to way tooooo much excess.

That’s how I feel about Godzilla and King Kong movies. But I usually give these a bit of a pass, even though I know they’re bad because DINOSAURS…..
TangledThorns Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) IGN gave it a 5. IMO the trailers were meh so I'll just wait till it comes to streaming. I still think a limited streaming series that closely follows the original books would be a better idea. https://www.ign.com/articles/jurassic-world-rebirth-review-scarlett-johansson-mahershala-ali Edited June 30 by TangledThorns

I probably won’t spend the cash, but I’ll definitely check it out when it streams. This is my bad movie franchise. Sorta like how some people will watch every Fast n Furious or every Godzilla movie, but at least I’ll never pretend that these movies are actually good. I’ll admit they’re bad, but I’ll still probably watch every one of them.

kajnrig Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I don't know if my expectations have just dropped that much or the movie was legitimately that good, but I had a really good time with this movie. Gareth Edwards does a great job establishing scale, and there are tons of shots (maybe too many) that do a phenomenal job showing off just how big the big dinos really are. The story is meh, definitely doesn't reach the same level of smart and thought-provoking as JP1 but then again what has done, but it's serviceable enough and is told competently. As I suspected, the "fake" dinos are nowhere as interesting as the "real" dinos; the latter could still easily carry an entire film on their own, despite the insistence of the World movies. A future movie, I would love if they doubled down on their efforts here to be as "natural" with the dinos as possible. Even better if they make a dino the actual star of the movie and make smart decisions in order to tell a story from its perspective.

Gonna be checking it out hopefully this weekend. Going in with low expectations and checking my brain at the door
Thom Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Saw it today and was pleasantly entertained. I was expecting less, but the actors and director did a fine job. The story is pretty straight forward, but it is just a vehicle for the character interactions/drama and the action, all being done very well, IMO. No JP sequel has been as good as the first, but this is now favorite second. I'd give it an 8/10.
sh9000 Posted July 16 Author Posted July 16 My wife and I watched it yesterday. We didn't like any of the scenes with the family as much though. If they were all cut out I think the movie would have still been entertaining.
