So I only had time to check out episode 4 of Iron Heart. Seems there’s only six episodes since it says all episodes available. I still don’t hate the show, but I can’t really recommend it either.

Spoiler

This episode was lacking in action and was unintentionally funny since riri finally realized that she’s a piece of💩and it seems that everyone she knows spends a lot of time telling her that she’s nothing but 💩with no original ideas and takes no responsibility for her actions while she stumbles around looking like she’s constantly high.

No Dr Strange, but Disney seems to have his replacement already set up. Seems there’s only six new avengers will be a team made up of mostly silly or annoying teenage girls that have no identity of their own

Yeah I noticed that trend with this show.

Spoiler

Riri says she's going to do something stupid, someone tells her it's a bad idea, she gets an attitude and says she's going to do it anyway, turns out to be a bad idea, gets told she's a POS for doing, she feels bad for about two seconds, and then say's she's going to do something stupid, and repeat ad nauseam.

Having completed the series I can honestly say that episodes 4,5,6 were better than the first three, but even then that's not saying much.

Spoiler

I mostly kept watching to see if the spoilers I read about on social media were true or if it was just chud hate. Turns out they were telling the truth.

Riri does in fact sell her soul to Mephisto in exchange for bringing her dead friend Natalie back to life. Apparently the whole reason she makes the self destructive spiral choices she does is because she can't cope with the loss of her Stepdad and best friend Natalie. The thing is, it doesn't make her sympathetic, it makes her come off as a selfish self centered A-Hole who doesn't care about how anyone else feels including her family and closest loved ones.

Literally everyone around her exists to be lied to, manipulated, blackmailed, bribed, cheated, coerced, or conned to get what ever she wants in that particular moment. This wasn't a superhero origin, this is a supervillain story.

Speaking of villains you know what "The Hood's" main motivation is? Daddy issues. His mom passed away leaving him in the care of his rich A-hole dad. Not getting enough attention from daddy he starts being a delinquent trouble maker and gets kicked out of his home at the age of 12. Afterwards he tries breaking back into "Daddy's" home to rob the place only to almost get caught. On the run he meets Mephisto who he makes a deal with to became "stupid filthy greasy rich" and gets the hood in return. All those companies they've been stealing from and extorting? Subsidiaries of his Daddy's company. All that talk of social justice and raising the poor up? Hypocritical B.S.

I swear the only character I feel any sympathy for is Zeke Stane. The dude is already living in the shadow of Obadiah Stane knowing what his father actually did and trying to be a good person when Riri pops into his life blackmails him, manipulates him, and ends up framed and in prison because of her and one of her stupid ideas. He gets busted out by The Hood and modified with bionics that gives him super strength and makes him shoot lightning ala Earnest Goes to Jail. Tasked with killing Riri he decides to let her go because he's still a decent guy only to find out The Hood implanted software in his bionics that gives the Hood complete control over his body against his will. The only way to break this control? Riri has to kick him in the balls to trigger a hard reset of the bionics that cancels the Hood's override.

Did I mention that when she does this she's wearing a new suit she built out of a 70's muscle car, a milk crate full of parts you can get from a hardware store, and stuff laying around her dead dad's garage that's powered by literal magic?

I can't say this was the worst show I have ever watched, but Riri as a character makes it almost insufferable. Especially once you realize all this show's plots and drama could be solved in 20 minutes if she just told the truth about what was going on.

For example N.A.T.A.L.I.E. even brings up contacting Shuri in Wakanda for help only for Riri to shoot the idea down mocking N.A.T.A.L.I.E  with a sarcastic fake phone call that shows her actions in the worst way possible.

That's actually the thing I hate the most about this show. It acts like it's existing in a vacuum and MCU entites don't exist outside of mentions. There is no way in hell Stark Industries or the government with War Machine, the Avengers, or the Thunderbolts* don't get involved when it's reported an Iron Man suit is committing crimes in Chicago. Kamar Taj gets a mention when Ronnie Riri's mom takes her to her magical friend's store, but magical drop out or not you'd think the former student would let Wong know some heavy bad magic is in use there instead of just kicking Riri and her mom out of the store and pretending nothing is happening.

Got through episode 5 and seems there’s a bit more action here. Although still fairly silly

Spoiler

Riri loves White Castle and is chowing down on sliders at night and the two mma girls come in unarmed  and want to clear the place. One them slams a guys head into the table and everyone ditches their food. Even the workers clear out. I don’t think the creators of this show know what kind folks actually sit down at these places at night, but one attack like that would just turn the place into an instant Waffle House incident, but nobody fights back or even calls the police. Oddly this show seems to have an odd absence of police throughout the show. You’d think someone would say something about an iron man flying around, but it’s like the people of this city don’t care.

after getting beat up she teams up with a few family members and not Dr Strange to build a new iron man suit because her old Iron Man suit got trashed.  Oddly they don’t build the suit out of advanced metals or anything, but an old car and a laptop. Somehow they had the ability to do this in one day without state of the art factories, just a run down garage. And they do it all in one afternoon. It’s not even dark yet. It’s really really far fetched, but then they gotta power it somehow and they use magic gas to do it. Oddly the magic gas seems the most plausible thing about this.

I can see why there’s so much hate for this show. Personally I’m still not there and don’t think it’s the worst show they’ve put out for the mcu, but it’s not far from it.
One more episode to go

I wrapped up episode 4, definitely pretty bad, Riri sucks, side characters are dumb. Definitely not the worst MCU D+ show, that's still absolutely Echo, but yeah it's pretty terrible.

I forgot about Echo, but I’d still don’t think it’s as bad as She Hulk or Secret Invasion. Although I’d put it pretty close as third worst turd and Not Iron Man would be following Echo for the fourth spot

I happily skipped watching the series and was able to watch this nice scene on youtube.

Oddly, he was the best character in the show, but only shows up for a little bit. Also odd that this half had cussing and the finger, but they had to censor the soundtrack mostly in the first three episodes.

I did finally finish the show’s last episode and it’s better than most of the previous ones, but still not great.

Spoiler

Riri’s new Iron Man suit still somehow seems way more advanced than they had time to build it would ever allow. They made some state of the art looking shapes without any of the machines to make them and somehow suped  up the wiring and programming and everything. And they had time to paint pretty well. She also on top of deconstructing a car and reconstructing it into an Iron Man Suit and programming, Painting and all that in an afternoon somehow, she also had time to learn magic spells without any assistance from her dead AI. That’s one crazy afternoon. I wish I could be a fraction of a fraction of being that productive.

during that time, somehow Parker is becoming a porker and had his staff cook an en entire feast, including a whole roast pig in a couple hours and he’s trying to force a vegan to eat it, which might just make him one of the most evil bad guys ever. He could just had someone make some bacon, but that wasn’t enough, he had a pig slaughtered just to give one bite to a vegan….Diabolical

Eventully, not Iron Man defeats Parker by sliding off his cloak while he’s distracted, and then has to eat pizza with Mephisto. We all basically felt Riri was soulless and now she’s sold whatever soul she had to get her dead friend back or maybe it was to get sent back in time before she died, I’m a bit confused on what happened for sure and don’t really want to rewatch to figure it out.

then we get an odd after credits scene where Parker finds not Dr Strange’s shop and she seems to know nothing about who he is and starts showing off that she  knows magic to a total stranger. She never questions the odd evil scars on his face or anything even though she’s supposed to know about all that and I can only assume that Riri never mentioned anything about him to her other than having a demonic cloak, but I’m probably not gonna do a rewatch to find out

Anyway, show’s over and they really should have just given us a cool War Machine show. I can’t help feel that there was quite a bit that was filmed and chopped out to trim the story down to fit a smaller amount of episodes than originally intended. Not the worst show but still a bit of a turd and can’t really recommend anyone to watch it.

At least I know

Spoiler

She’s going to hell for sure when she dies

And that’s really the best part about the ending because after all this, she kinda deserves it
