skullmilitia Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 After long thoughts I ordered a VE-1, to replace my V1 DYRL, now to sell the V1 off! This means I have a fairly huge Private warehouse now, gonna see if the VF-4G makes it in before the 60 day period ends.
Kicker773 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 added one more to the squad. Is there any difference in the box?
Chronocidal Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 (edited) Not sure, unless the old box had the rainbow canopy on it. Only difference I see is the 30th anniversary banner across one corner. Opened mine up and fiddled with it a bit, but had to do some simple work on it unfortunately. Nothing broken, just needs some tweaking. The elbow joints on mine are so tight they're nearly frozen. The secondary notched hinge works fine, it's the main first hinge that's stuck, and I might have to pop the glue to file down the pieces later if working them back and forth over time isn't enough. In the process of taking the arms off though, the pin holding in the hip swing-bar fell out. It was really loose for some reason. I just gave it some minimal knurling with a pliers, so that's fixed. All in all though, glad to finally be able to check this one off the list. I'd forgotten how crazy Yamato went with the tampos on this release.. they pretty much printed half the decals directly onto it. Makes me sad they didn't do that for more of them, but it's beautiful. Valkyrie Magnus Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I love mine. It's awesome I got it with my 2 strike packs too. Happy Birthday to me!
Dark_Ghost Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Mine arrived this morning. The photos can be seen here: http://imgbox.com/g/cptRODuHaQ
MacrossJunkie Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Man, you guys are lucky. I was hoping to get mine by the weekend so I would have some time to do some work on it, but anime-export's shipping method just seems to be pretty slow even for the fastest shipping option they offered.
troyness Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Nice!!! Does it come with fixed posed hands?
Reïvaj Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Mine arrived this morning. The photos can be seen here: http://imgbox.com/g/cptRODuHaQ Great pics. This is such a beautiful toy, I'm looking forward to get mine!
xrentonx Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 She really is a sexy girl I have an original with the rainbow canopy. I'm not too upset about missing out on the extra pieces though.
Dark_Ghost Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) Nice!!! Does it come with fixed posed hands? Yes, the same as for the VF-1 "Do You Remember Love" version. Edited November 18, 2012 by Dark_Ghost
troyness Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Hey thanx Dark_Ghost, beautiful photo,s BTW. I wish yamato would do DYRL fixed posed hands -"fisted", how cool would that look!!! I'm a little tired of seeing the trigger finger + salute fixed hands with DYRL, come on yamato step it up.
Dark_Ghost Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I said the same thing on a French forum. I think it would be a real plus to have fists like the TV versions...
aceoftherebellion Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I'm surprised I haven't seen more customizers making option parts for those available. I know I'd be interested.

Edited November 18, 2012 by vt102
Kurisama Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I can do that today. How many interested? Any other hands that you'd like? I've done several sets for the VF-11 already.
aceoftherebellion Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I've seen those, you do very good work! You know, I think Ideally it'd be awesome to see quality fixed pose hands available for all of the valks that don't currently have any but the DYRL type VF-1s are probably the most glaringly obviously in need since it seems like everyone's got at least one of them and the extra hands they included are so specialize, they really only look good in maybe one or two poses.
Kurisama Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Thanks Aceoftherebellion - well, starting them now
troyness Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 You mean like the ones that come with the GBP set? The "clobbering fists"?? These? Yes those "clobbering fists", that come with most TV VF,s , would be overwhelmingly cool to see those in a DYRL version!!!! Kurisama , if you have the time and skills, I,d buy a few sets!!!!
Kurisama Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Just making the fingers now, palm and wrist complete - sorry about the delay, had to pop out for a few hours.
vt102 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Just making the fingers now, palm and wrist complete - sorry about the delay, had to pop out for a few hours. Wow! That was quick. I am interested to see what they look like.
Kurisama Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Here is a quick WIP - it's missing the fingers, obviously. Quickly moved the thumb into a more natural position other than the neutral it was in.
Kurisama Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) Here we go - gotta duck out now, but later tonight I'll make the out-stretched bubble hand equivalent for this too and upload to shapeways. EDIT; Had time to slap it together before heading out. Edited November 19, 2012 by Kurisama
aceoftherebellion Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Holy crap, dude! Have you ever been tested, because I'm reasonably certain you might actually be made of magic. Just tossing that out there, might wanna look into that. Seriously though, these look amazing! Definitely going to buy a set for my Hikaru 1A the second I get the chance to!
Kurisama Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Pew pew pew; http://www.shapeways.com/model/782086/valkyrie-hands.html?li=productBox-search Enjoy
aceoftherebellion Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Seriously amazing! Cannot wait to get my hands on some of these... hands... er, yeah.
troyness Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Fisted and dynamic hands!!!!! You've just upped the posing options of a standard 1/60 DYRL!!!! Those fisted looked better than I imagined. You are too cool Kurisama, thank-you very much for helping out the macross fan!!!!!!!
Kurisama Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 No worries fellas! Enjoy. Hope they are not rejected during printing - but I was careful not to go close to the minimum tolerances, so all should be good. Was thinking of making those carts that hold/load the gunpods too - thoughts? Anyways, can't wait to get my VE-1!
genomcorp Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 whoa, the DYRL hands look amazing Kurisama! which material do you think would match the grey color of the VE-1 best?
CoreyD Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I can vaguely picture what the gunpod loading cart looks like. Anyone have a screencap? And yes, I'd probably buy one
Kurisama Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 whoa, the DYRL hands look amazing Kurisama! which material do you think would match the grey color of the VE-1 best? Probably the polished alumide, but it won't be a 100% match. CoreyD, there is a pic in the first VF-1 master file - I'll see if I have time today.
CoreyD Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Oh ok, the tray looking thing. I found it in my copy of the MF. Thanks!
MacrossJunkie Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Great job, Kurisama. I just got my VE-1 today and thought it was strange choice that it came with fixed pose hands that were meant for holding and supporting a gunpod despite the fact that it doesn't come with one nor is supposed to be equipped with one anyway. Yours would be far more useful. Overall, the VE-1 looks great. I'm pleased that Yamato managed to get a lot more tampo printing on this than any of the previous releases I've gotten thus far. Particularly on the legs.
