Urashiman Posted Friday at 08:43 PM Author Posted Friday at 08:43 PM @wm cheng here you go. Giant decal sheet. VF-1D box for comparison. My kid decided I should build a plane. Plamax VF-1 it is. Quote

It was way before we got all these nice J-35 pics. Still the most beautiful past 4th gen fighter that actually flies IMO. My approach was: paint the fuselage with shading, then spend a whole lot of tape & time to mask the whole body, then spray the light grey borders. What I would do today: Spray the light grey borders freehand, then mask them with just a few strips of tape, then do the main areas, shade, weather etc. and when you're done there, remove the masks for the edges. Wow! The PAAF certainly doesn't have many markings on them - I'm kind of in shock decaling mine (I tripled checked the photo references and they are clean!) since my last model was a 70s Phantom and I couldn't believe how many data stenciling there were! That depends, apparently – I have a 1/48 J-10, and every panel has it's own ZIP code. Quote
Urashiman Posted Saturday at 10:00 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:00 PM This is how far we got today. note: no airbrush use. Only panel line color, permanent marker for some details and the plamax stickers. It kinda looks cool so far. It is crazy just how much panel lines can make a kit make look so much better. Quote

Looks great! @Urashiman enjoy this time together! My son and i have built many HG Gundam kits together, since he was a wee lad. But it's difficult to get his ass to the workbench, now that he's 13 and more of a Gamer Edited Saturday at 10:20 PM by Bolt Quote

Thom Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM That is looking really good for a KISS build. (Keep I Simple Stupid) Goes to show how great that old kit still is, fresh from the box. Quote
Urashiman Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago @Bolt yeah… mine wants to play lego games… @Papa Rat indeed. I learned that from building gundams @Thom not that old… it is the plamax vf-1, which is 3 years old? Quote

Especially since such a thing would make it a lot easier on my lungs! Quote
SteveTheFish Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I finally finished that small, 3D-printed Minmay figure my friend gave me a few years ago. The UN Spacy logo is from a set of Macross decals I bought on eBay years back, some of which I'd used on my 1:100 Imai Armored Valk I finished earlier this year. The pattern on her dress is from leftover decals from a Haku Rinpha resin kit from Hasegawa Eggplane Girls series. She is VERY small, so zooming in with my camera like this is exposing the flaws I cannot see with my naked eyes. Her eyes turned out better than I thought they would. The new Minmay resin kit that Hasegawa will release this month is almost the same as this figure. Quote

Really down about the lead actor passing away Quote

I still remember when I first saw the opening: On that note: if they're reissuing the Black Hole models, then they need to reissue the Buck Rogers ones as well! Quote
Thom Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) @Urashiman Ah, I got confused between that and the box with the VF-!D. @SteveTheFish A more mature Min-Mei, still performing live on Megaroud 01 on the far side of the galaxy! @pengbuzz I can do with some Thunderfighter reissues! I have two currently, one a 'new' kit and the other a prebuilt that could use to be torn down and redone. Edited 7 hours ago by Thom Quote

Maybe they'll do a reissue someday and I can jump on it! Quote

I loved 70’s and 80’s intros, they were always cool and had great music Quote
