Looks like a fun one with some cool options. From what I gather is that you definitely need to do some test fitting first and some minor surgery here and there depending on how things go, but nothing too complicated

Hey everyone, quick post! I don't know if you have seen these before, but it is an AWESOME add-on to your mecha builds!

This is a mechanical Gatling cannon that has ROTATION AND RECOIL action!!! TOTALLY COOL! They can be hard to find and sell out fast, but Hobby Search has them (at this time) for only $13.00 (plus about the same price for shipping registered mail to the U.S.). This version COMES WITH the motor, batteries and switch:

I just got mine in the mail and have yet to build it. If you're not familiar, Hobby Search is another great place to get stuff, especially if you're used to HLJ and them being out of stuff all the time. I've been buying from them for years. They seem to ship out faster than HLJ too.

The motor is a compact gear motor and they are excellent for other projects too! I bought a bunch a while back. You'll see them in high end toys and kits.

The small "ammo container" on the side holds three small 357 batteries - that come with the kit! I hear they don't last long, but adding in an external battery pack would be easy.

The Hobby Mio logo is cool too, a cat with a wrench!😻

Came home from a short vacation to this funny little kit I got from Wise Guys eBay store. 
It’s the IMAI 1/100 Glaug “iron type”

It looks like the runners are all painted with a thin metallic wash which I haven’t seen before. Oh, and It also included a lunar display base.  Very cool. Excited to get this going. Juggling multiple builds right now.

I have the basic one and remember some fit issues with the legs, but more fun than I expected after completion

@Big s Yeah the test fit has plenty of issues with alignment but not surprised. I’m going to stick with the classic gray/red scheme when the time comes.

You should get the new Hasegawa version to build and have a Glaug family. Maybe get the nichimo one as well for the baby

Finally got the courage to tackle one of the oldest kits in my backlog (16+ years) and also a "holy grail." It probably tje last time I ever build 1/144 again.

A Studio Reckless X RC Berg Gp03s Stamen from Gundam 0083!

 

It wasn't for a lack of trying though... this kit, despite being an original, is really, really small and very rough even by 2010 resin kit standards. The majority of the parts have warped as the armor is so thin it is see through despite being opaque resin. The box, decals and manual were damaged in a hurricane years ago making the puzzle even more fun to put together. All the pinning is so far done with a 1/32" drillbit and brass rod. I thought to mix this with [at the time the only] HGUC kit. Now I'm considering either using the Robot Damashii ver.ANIME figure or the RG GP01 Bandai model kits i mainly needed joints to ultimately place it into flying pose, ejecting from the HGUC Dendrobium.

 

Lowkey feels good to have resin in hand again.

@pengbuzz That stand looks awesome, helps tell the story, and put the whole display together! I see a lot of good models that people just stick on a pole attached to an unsanded, ugly piece of unfinished timber.

@Cheese3 I haven't seen one of those Nichimo kits actually attached to the suction "stand" in decades - I think. It's cool to see one done so nicely. The Gwazine came out great too!

@Nyankodevice That Zenith print looks cool! I always loved how their designs are more realistic.

If anyone is interested, here's one of the roughly completed models of the Gatling cannon. I haven't added any of the handles on to it since I won't be using them. Also pictured is the motor, switch and batteries.

The parts are molded in ABS according to the sprues. The good news, most parts are molded in undergated sprues, so cleanup is easy with little signs of nubs left over.

I don't know if I did something wrong, but the battery fit is too tight. I've seen multiple videos where they were not, so maybe it was just me inserting the battery tabs wrong. I'm not worried because I'm not using them either.

Here's one leaning against a standard 12oz American sized can.

The COOL news, it runs awesome and the action is quiet! It doesn't sound like a servo running. The recoil looks cool, but of course, it's not "canon". Like I said earlier, those gear motors are awesome and compact.

I got some more work done on the F-35B. The driveshaft connecting the LiftFan unit is to narrow, so I had to make a thicker one.

Hasegawa completely left any detail out of the rear engine bay! It's totally visible too! So I had to find some decent photos (which was tough) and add some semi-accurate details in.

Life is super busy right now, but I was able to put in some time on this monster the past two days. Baby steps. Hope to finish this up by the weekend if I can find time.

Looks better than the one I did a while back. I had the worst time on the front face seam and the arm missile launchers. Definitely not the easiest build. Still hoping for a modern kit one day that handles those issues better.

Got most of the painting and assembly done. Need a few details refined and some touch ups before my decals and further weathering. 
I’m happy with how it’s coming together. 

I wish my phone took better photos. The colors are way less vibrant in person. 🤔

I’d be happy if the parts just lined up properly. Although a separate part would be easier. Wave had been teasing a 1/100 kit a while back and now that they’re doing 1/100 destroids, I keep wondering if they’ll finally give us their monster

I’d love to see a more modern release of this design. Not sure if I’d want it any larger than the 200 scale. I’m happy with how this IMAI kit is taking shape, but I didn’t have as much fun with this old kit as I did with other kits in the line from the same era.

It would be double the size with that cannon legth also being doubled

Yeah that would be a huge model to deal with. I have the Volks KOG with the buster and I think it’s about 24” long? I haven’t decided when I will get to it and what to do with it once built. I guess there is the option to have it folded up on the back which would look nice too
