Marzan Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Just caught on Netflix. Unfortunately they had no english subs on offer so I had to friggin' watch it with danish subs based on what I presume was the english dub script, so already with my very, very basic knowledge of Japanese I could tell that somethings were slightly off other than the names. So it's hard for me to comment on the plot. I'll wait for the BD's to come out to watch it with proper subs. I have to say that least I though that visually it was marvellous. Real ambitious and great looking stuff. Using Jupiter as a energy source for a cannon was as cool a weapon design as I've seen.
Sandman Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 You should watch gunbuster. Jupiter is used as a giant bomb in that show.
Dynaman Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Just caught on Netflix. Unfortunately they had no english subs on offer That is strange, I saw it in Japanese audio with English subtitles. Just double checked, English subs are showing up still. What Netflix app are you using?
Duke Togo Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 You should watch gunbuster. Jupiter is used as a giant bomb in that show. That creates a massive black hole. No topping it.
JB0 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 You should watch gunbuster. Jupiter is used as a giant bomb in that show.Technically, Jupiter is the FUSE for a giant bomb. Buster Machine 3's detonation triggers all the space bombs that are responsible for DESTROYING THE GALAXY. Gunbuster doesn't do things by half measures, that's for sure. Of course, I saw Jupiter-as-energy-source and thought of Gaogaigar and ZA POWAA.
technoblue Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I went far into left field and thought monoliths.

What Netflix app are you using? Watched on my ipad which I then airplayed on my TV screen. I should probably add that I'm currently living in Copenhagen, so while it's rare that Netflix doesn't have the english subs on offer, it's also not out of the question. Unfortunately only Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish were on offer!
coronadlux Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Cut scenes? I'm sure it happens often to trim "the fat" Were those scenes "fat?"
