Hey! What are you working on?

good for you

And the point of your little quip was what again?

There are PLENTY of articles on the internet about the yellowing properties of the Testors product. Anyone who doubts me should do some research before the potential ruination of a very expensive Valkyrie is undertaken.

Hey sorry man, didn't mean to start a fight. I've messed up many time before I figured out heavy lacquer clear will turn yellow every time, especially bad over enamel.

I've been using Gunze for almost 30 years, they are absolutely the best.

No problem. Thought you were getting chippy and I couldn't figure out what happened. :D

Now that I re-read your comment I realize I read it 180 degrees out of phase. SORRY! ;)

I meant dullcoat as a generic term referring to any flat clear finish. Not specifically Testor's Dullcoteâ„¢ (which is yellow when it's in the can/bottle--I doubt it turns clear as it ages)

Alot of the people here are really having a problem with Testors Dull Coat eh?!? I just used it on my 1/48 1A and my 1/48 Super/Strike parts. There has been some defense from some saying that they used the product for years and upon many years later the white is still white. My valks are NEVER in sunlight. Do some of you honestly believe that my 1A will yellow over time? I guess about 5-10 years down the road I should take some pics of the 1A and post them so that I may have proof that some of you are wrong or proof that I was wrong. We will see I guess.

I think all Dulls probably yellow some with age, however, Testors' product absolutely does. So if anyone uses Testors they're asking for trouble was my point.

Sooooooo......when Ron said this.....

I sprayed an X-wing fighter and Millennium Falcon with Testor Dullcote 15 years ago and the the white parts are still white. I have a few valks that I sprayed with the Dullcote at least 2 years ago and the white parts are still white.

You are saying that he is lying? I mean....what does this awesome custom specialist have to gain by giving false information? Can you suggest another type of Dull coat spray that I could find easily?
