  1. Good point, and I guess I mostly agree, although I will point out that in Macross (and First Gundam) it kind of is in a child soldier way, since in both of those world's, most of the able-bodied men have been killed off already... That's probably after-the-fact justification to get characters the same age as their target audience into the cockpits, though. (And hey, it makes more sense than 10-year-old Anakin being a master pilot...)
  2. That last bit of info came courtesy of Renato. And he mentioned it, I think, two days ago...
  3. I thought it was fairly common the world over for stories aimed at young adults to feature young adults as the main characters...? Otherwise everything from Harry Potter to The Breakfast Club to Catcher in the Rye have that particular "anime trope"...
  4. Robotech X is mostly a ghost town, but it's still there...
  5. Here's where following everything in production order starts to get a little tricky... https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/31/the-great-macross-rewatch-a-future-chronicle/ https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/31/the-great-macross-rewatch-46-plus-vol-1/
  6. Thank you, mickyg! I can't say the Misa book was fun to translate (it was WAY too frustrating for that), but I'm glad it's readable and enjoyable! And now, the finale of Macross II... https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/29/the-great-macross-rewatch-44-station-break/ https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/29/the-great-macross-rewatch-45-sing-along/
  7. If it's Yui, yes, she often makes up her own canon. She knows a hell of a lot about the production of the three shows used for RT, though.
  8. Yes, that's what Kawamori has said. The actual events dramatized would differ from the fictional versions probably by not having to fit neatly into a series of 25-minute episodes or two-hour movies, nor would they have to please sponsors and toy companies.
  9. Episodes 3 and 4 of the beloved Macross II... https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/26/the-great-macross-rewatch-42-festival/ https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/26/the-great-macross-rewatch-43-festival/
  10. Then you should probably move it to the Fan Works section.
  11. Onwards and forwards! Into MACROSS II! https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/24/the-great-macross-rewatch-40-contact/ https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/24/the-great-macross-rewatch-41-ishtar/
  12. It's kinda like saying that SDFM had Hikaru playing pranks with the Angelbirds and Roy checking out Minmay's ass while Zentradi are bombarding the city...
  13. Komillia would've been what, then... nearly fifty when Mirage was born? Not impossible, but it seems unlikely to me...
  14. The two epilogues (of a sort): https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/21/the-great-macross-rewatch-39-flashback-2012/ https://gubabablog.wordpress.com/2016/01/21/super-dimension-fortress-macross-suggestions-for-further-reading-and-listening/
  15. I think Tochiro's right, and they just haven't quite figured out this whole "YouTube" thing yet.
  16. That's what I meant by "continuity," yeah.If anything, his Frontier novelizations show that he really knows Macross backwards and forwards.
  17. He's in the credits, with the position of 文芸. No idea what that would entail, however... Continuity, maybe?
  18. Huh... I've never come a source that says that's why they did it... Which are you taking from?
  19. Here's some advice... Although I would also add Anton Chekov's short stories. Just READING them will make your writing more interesting and compelling. http://flavorwire.com/547750/25-books-guaranteed-to-make-you-a-better-writer
