  1. Hey hey, I refer to them as "investments" that I happen to be able to play with
  2. Just thought he might wanna seize the day and relive them younger days
  3. Does VE still have Supers? Just bought one from Kevin a while ago, should still have a few left. I'd say go for packs first.
  4. I was actually wondering about that... what do fighters use? A mixture of rounds? Or some exotic HE-AP-I combo round that does everything?
  5. ooooh, tourist traps eh? I'll show you a real tourist trap, largest tourist trap in NYC: Times Square For lots of fun: Limelight Club!! 47 W. 29th (29th and Broadway). If you see a short flip breaking out his glo-nanchukas, say hi for me, lol. Addendum: The Met, Museum of Natural History, and the Cloisters are all donation based. Once got 5 ppl in for a quarter, lol...

Well, guess we can all put away the pitchforks and douse out the bonfires... time to pull out our plastic!!
  7. Slightly OT, but a tad bit more info on the Saint Seiya game: HERE
  8. lol, try telling that to any New Yorker. But let's not start the Pizza Wars again, shall we? Pizza Wars? Have I missed something? Just this Quickest way to get a New Yorker into an argument: talk about Republicans, or ask for his/her favourite pizzaria (usually it's either Lombardi's or Pat's) and disagree, lol.
  9. On my playlist right now: Old Stuff: Beethoven, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin Old Fashioned Stuff: Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald Newer Stuff: The Killers, Fran Ferdinand Soundtracks: Last Samurai, "Beyond the Clouds, the Promised Place"

  11. If you enjoy fine foods, NYC also has a lot to offer. La Mela on Mulberry off Canal (in Little Italy) is a home-style Italian place, their motto is "Sit down, eat, and shut up!" since you don't order when you go in, they just serve you what's the flavor of the day (runs a full course of appetizer, pasta, meat, etc...). There's the oh-so-naughty light-up penis that all restaurant goers love to play around with... give it a pull and watch ppl around you chuckle! Veniero's at 11th and 1st (or 2nd?) Ave. has the world's best cheesecake. Get the New York traditional (none of the strawberries or marble crap) and some canoles. Lombardi's on Spring between Mott and Mulberry has the world's best pizza. There's Cozy Soup 'n' Burger, my old college hangout (Broadway around University, ask the local NYU population, they'll be able to direct you). Decent heart-attack inducing burgers and french onion soup. For Korean food, go to K-town, the strip of restaurants on 32nd between Fifth and Broadway, pick one and enjoy. For Japanese food there's a huge selection on St. Mark's, Stuyvesant, and 9th St. Otafuku, 236 E. 9th St, serves up some of the best takoyaki and okonomiyaki I know of. Pomme Frites, 123 2nd Ave (btwn 7th St.) and St. Mark's, has good Belgian fries. Be sure to ask for War Sauce!! Hoomoos Asli on Kenmare btwn Lafayette and Mulberry has some very good Middle Eastern cuisine. Hot Dogs. There are two: Coney Island dogs, or Gray's Papaya (71st and Amsterdam). Or you could just be a man and get a streetside dog :-p For stuff to do: In Brooklyn, there's a little known NYC transit museum (Boerum and Schermerhorn, take F to Jay and Tillary and ask the MTA ppl for directions), all the subway carriages from the very beginning parked in an old subway station. Much better than the one at Grand Central IMHO. After, a walk across Brooklyn Bridge, preferablly towards Manhattan. After you cross you can swing by J&R, then WTC. There's the "Only in NYC" Museum of Sex Met and Intrepid have some of the most impressive pieces on display, go if you can. The Cloisters, an annex of the Met, is good for Medieval history buffs. There's B&H Photo Video store, 33rd and 9th, which is sorta nearby the Intrepid. Their map HERE is also a pretty good reference for Midtown Manhattan. OtakuDen is also in the NYU area, 732 Broadway, 2nd Floor. They run a good enough shop. You can go to Strand, largest used books store, Broadway btwn 13 and 12, right by Forbidden Planet. St. John the Divine, cathedral-in-construction, Amsterdam btwn 111 and 112 is quite a sight. Completed, it could be the world's largest cathedral. St. Patrick's, Madison btwn 50 and 51st, also a place of worship. If you're into Jazz, there's the Blue Note bar downtown and Smoke up in Harlem. I think Bobby Short is still performing at the Cafe Carlyle, not sure though. For all the places I mentioned, and if you want to explore, there's always Citysearch.com. Have fun in NYC!
  12. Never seen anybody use a PS2 like that... although people seem to be modding their xbox's left right and center to serve as the ultimate media center... slightly OT, does anybody know if a network adapter from Japan will work on a PS2 from the states? I know that the config software won't work (region encoded disks and all that), but since I just need the adapter for HD Loader, I shouldn't need the config software to work, right?
  13. I modded my PS2 by buying the fliptop system. I didn't want to do the chip swap cause that's the risky way. The flip top will allow you to easily put your PS2 back to stock if you need it repaired. It uses boot disk, so that is a hassle, but so minor, it's not a problem. I have problems though, playing my PSone imports on it, but in that case, I have an original PSone with the serial port in the back that has a game genie box plugged for the copies and imports. You may be able to find one of those for about $50 on ebay. But for the PS2 imports and such, I'd suggest the fliptop for modding. It's good too, if you play online with the ps2 and the game uses the DNAS scan data on your box. People with chip swaps can't play many online PS2 games because it detects the modded chip. WHEW!!! Hope that helps. A legal method, or so I hear, is to slap in a hard drive and use HDloader.
  14. am I the only one who looked at that and thought "five-o'clock shadow"?
  15. Is it just me, or did he put the wings on wrong?
  16. The only successful adaptation? How about Spider-Man? I thought that was fairly well done.
  17. Does anybody actually have a fair guess of how much the 1/48 VF-1 line made for them? Not even a number, but whether or not they lost money, barely broke even, or sitting on top of a huge pile of 1/48 cash...
  18. Somehow it does look like it'll play like GTA, just without the car jacking :-p
  19. looks alright to me... then again, I've always been partial on darker shades... It DOES look different from the usualy hi-gloss gundam models that I've seen a lot of people put together though, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
  20. Deep Striker, Penelope, Hyaku Shiki, FAZZ... with all these "big armor" gundams, all we need is a GP03 (you know it's coming...) and that one from SEED (never watched the anime, don't know the name), and we'll have a pretty amazing collection out there
  21. I was thinking either the Mk II AUEG (first Gundam I ever laid eyes on, plus the G Defensor looks cool) or the ZZ normal... such a hard choice, tempted to get both but the Deep Striker left me in a rather poor state, haha Say... anybody here think there's the possibility of a blue Deep Striker comiing out?
  22. Just outta curiosity, anybody have anything to say about the Mk. II? I'm trying to choose between that and the ZZ... (yes yes, ZZ outta win hands down, but still...)
  23. Apparently some of our Congress members were treated to a 30 minute footage of Vice City... most of them were "shocked and disgusted"... well, get em while they last!
  24. ooo... looks like we'll be getting all 12 + 1... what we need to do is for some enterprising members to get a set and start recasting so we can spread the love around
  25. Digital widescreen, widescreen projector, 17 inch monitor for workstation, 14 inch for laptop... so... which one do I vote?
