  1. Well, the connectors on the back of the HD need to match up with the network adaptor (yeah, you need to buy that too). Apparently Maxtor is everybody's favourite.
  2. Come on, fantasy, and nobody talks about Excalibur? You can't beat sexual intercourse in full plate armour
  3. Akilae

    Anybody know...

On a slightly related note, how do you guys like these display stands? It seems like eveybody and their grandmother opted for the clear plastic rod display stands that haterist is putting together a mass order for...

    Anybody know...

whoa... was thinking of waiting till my next paycheck came in, guess I'd better grab a few right now... Yamato better not announce another run after I order Knowing my luck, they probably will
  5. My Stargate ultimate edition did this... practically shattered the center. I did it ghetto style and used scotch tape to piece the whole thing back together. Still plays, but I think I'll get another copy soon

    Anybody know...

Does anybody know if Yamato plans on doing another run of them fast packs? I've managed to track down a few Valks, but they seem kinda... naked without the fast packs
  7. huh, I was beginning to wonder why the analogue sticks on my newer Dualshocks were showing a whole lot more wear and tear compared to my older controller... the analogue buttons also seem slightly less responsive, and there's a slight catch on the triggers that I find annoying...
  8. Shooter, not FPS. As in.. Raiden, Ikaruga, etc? woops... shoulda thought before that relfex posting, lol... man, last shooter I played was... R-Type Final, and I still haven't gotten all the planes, grr... Since we seem to be on the topic of all sorts of control schemes, nothing beats being beaten in an FPS by a guy using, of all things, a nipple Wheel and pedals (best of all, with a stick thrown in) are the best way, ever... especially after seeing your friend cruise around the turns with one hand on the wheel while you're all hunched over the piddly Dualshock hmm... might have to get the Logitech wheel for GT4... (on that logic, I should have also gotten the flightstick combo for AC5... but I already got two MS Sidewinders at home )
  9. Just to add to the flames... But why use a pad to play a shooter when a mouse/keyboard combo offers the best precision movements?
  10. meh... I dunno. They've already proven their ultimate, undying, indesputable love in the OVA, in the Movie, and in the manga... either it end real fast (like in the next ten books or so), or it really goes nowhere. It started off real strong, but I stopped caring after Vol. 22...
  11. Hence the practicality of the Type Zero with its armor piercing fingernails
  12. High Grade Animation Corp (02)2562-8146 台北市新生北路二段133巷49號 No. 49, Alley 133, Section 2, Shin-Sheng N. Rd VERY SMALL store, but filled with treaures. Also, I like to tell ppl, if you're looking for any sort of collector's item, never underestimate the power of SOGO. Sure you're paying a premium, but when you just gotta have it... oh well... (plus, they get weekly shipments from Japan, Gold Cloths being hot right now). If I wasn't doing audit work right now I'd offer to take you around... oh well.
  13. What's wrong with j00 all?!?! You wouldn't recognize a Korean beauty if she straddled you screaming it... sheesh man... I'll take Grace Park anytime, anywhere Oh yeah, a lil aside: I think BSG is one of the better sci-fi series to hit the small screen in quite a long time... been getting a bit tired of watching Stargate, needed something new.
  14. Just flipping through my old DOS/V games, and came upon Power DOLLS... decent size (big enough to haul around 120 mm tank cannons as "rifles"), form-fitting (the pilot straps in I think), and not a lot of funky capabilities like jump jets or anti-grav pods. 'sides, you can't beat an all-women combat team
  15. Tachikomas make sense in that they use wheels for any sort of long haul drive, and they have an awfully advanced AI program. In terms of feasability, I'm still trying to figure out how to actually pilot mechs. Granted you have a stick of sorts, a throttle, but complex movements would be a nightmare. How do you make a mech run forward and leap over a ravine (assuming no jump jets...)? Or how do you make it lean up against a wall and peep over the edge? I still think suits are the way to go, instead of mechs with cockpits. Just strap it on and you're good to go. Unless we're talking about stuff like tachikomas and AI programs...
  16. I dunno about that... the ISDs in Star Wars always seem to miss an awful lot (My personal gripe on Sci-Fi: In an age of shields, ion propulsion, and laser cannons, nobody has the brains to invent a slightly better targeting system???)
  17. Isn't there a logical maximum size that mechanized units reach before they become inefficient? After all, think about tanks. Any random infantry unit with the proper equipment can quickly disable a tank, rendering all that armor useless. That was always my main problem with huge mechs... they're just friggin big targets... Anyhow, my vote goes to the MI of Starship Troopers =)
  18. Damn all of this... you guys are a bad influence. First it was the 1/48, thefast packs, the Gold Saints, then the Monster... now you're sending out subliminal messages for me to mod my PS2 and start importing
  19. Just to add to this slightly... After some research, the closest to a 37 mm I could find would be the 40 mm Bofors... the Russians produced a 37 mm AA gun that was based on the Bofors, but somehow I don't think that obscure a caliber would be used for reference... oh yeah, anybody know anything about the attack choppers they used in both movies? MAHQ doesn't seem to have anything on it...
  20. If it's cheap, grab it. Personally, they could have it named it Whatchamacallit WXIII, and it wouldn't have made a difference. Like ARCLIGHT said, just imagine a Patlabor movie with almost no connections to the Patlabor you know and love. The first two I could imagine happening in the Patlabor world... WXIII... I dunno... it's like Patlabor vs. Godzilla... Thx on all the shell info btw pplz!
  21. My main problem is that exact scene with Nao handling the shell... I was beginning to think if they used 105 or 120 mm tank shells or something similar. Speaking of which, why not use tank shells anyway? More abudant (supposedly), proven capabilities, etc.. or given the Japanese anime communitie's infatuation with all things German, why not the 88? Ech, never felt like getting WXIII... never felt the whole mutated genetic engineered monster was quite in line with the rest of the Patlabor story. But there's the Mini-Pato series... so conflicted...
  22. I figured we got all sorts of anime and gun nuts here, so I thought I might ask this here =) Does anybody know what caliber shells the labors in Patlabor shoot off from their hand cannons? Mainly their revolvers and their shotguns.
  23. heck, splice together all the scenes and we got ourselves a pretty complete animated presentation right there EDIT: spelling, arg...
  24. Just to derail this thread a tad, since we seem to have a pretty hardcore gathering of Seiya fans here... anybody got a decent sized pic of the opening crawl for Hades Chapter? The one where the screen scrolls sideways past all 12 gold saints?
  25. Really? That's interesting... over here in Taiwan the local dept. store has one shelf devoted to the rhadamanthis, and they're just sitting there... along with the virgos and Aquarius' they got that apparently nobody's interested in. All those saint cloths, gathering dust, mm.... Guess I'll get my wish of collecting all 12 gold saints without having to fight over them, yay!
