  1. Another couple-few to add to the pile: Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon is a really fun read, centering around cryptology and information technology over the last 60 years, from WWII to the very near future, with an enigmatic story woven around three generations of several families. There's too much involved to get into here, but it's well worth a look. I'd also recommend David Brin's Uplift series (and in fact, anything by Brin). Really cool far-future stories having to do with the expansion of man into an already-crowded galaxy. Greg Bear is also definitely worth a read, though I find some of earlier stuff (ie; Blood Music) kind of tedious. The first two books in the Eon series (Eon and Eternity) are great though - truly epic tales of both near and far-future exploration and human expansion. Anything by Larry Niven is great, though in my mind he tends toward the lighter side of hard sci-fi. Neutron Star, a collection of short stories, is a great place to start. Speaking of Mark Twain ^^, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is really a great book, and borders on sci-fi for the time it was written.
  2. Arthurius, You.Rock. Thanks If none of the regs here at MW want to do them, I'm sure that Delta at reprolabels.com would do them. I've got some of the repros that they made for the Gakken 1/8, and the quality is very nice. I think that your scan as it is will be more than adequate, as they will just trace them and make a new vector drawing.
  3. I honestly wouldn't take the rumored price of 60,000 Yen with anything more than a largish grain of salt. The chicken little mentality wears thin.
  4. I agree completely. Didn't Arthur C. Clarke teach you guys anything?
  5. Thanks Master Cheng, please keep us advised of your results

So, the question begs, is this a one-off for your personal enrichement, or are there plans for distribution? Inquiring minds want to know.
  7. The MH units are MUCH better in Armor Mode than in Bike Mode, IMHO. Transform it, dude The Beagle, as I've said before, looks fantastic. Regardless of the expense, I'll pay to be the first on the block with it.
  8. The music from Mospeada is highly underrated. One of my favorites is Clap!! Clap!! Clap!!, well, because, you have to listen to it
  9. Looks like more of an homage than a ripoff, but whatever.
  10. WOW! Thanks baronv, great information. Much appreciated!
  11. Say what you want about Hyundais (and I'll probably agree), but check out this demonstration that they staged. Pretty cool actually. http://www.flixxy.com/hyundai-driving-skills.htm
  12. Cool, Wicked Ace. I've got Hikaru's 1J on the way right now... Looking forward to having another drinking buddy
  13. Thanks, BoBe-Patt. It was ~30 odd bucks. There's a sketch with it, but it's offset a little and stuck to the cel. Does anybody have any advice for un-sticking it? Or is it a lost cause? Now comes the fun part - rewatching Orguss so that I can find where it was used. Knowing Orguss, it'll probably show up in about 2/3rds of the episodes
  14. It's not Macross, but here's my very first cel acquisition. Just got it today
  15. You know, your pictures are actually accurate to the show Observe: HBT = Protoculture = Kirin Ichiban
  16. To some small extent it's true... Take a look at any of the T. Suzuki Legioss model artwork for an example. In actuality, the nose does point up too much on the MPC (mainly due to lack of tolerance/clearance between aft of forward winglet area and fuselage, which pulls the whole nose "upward"). This is visually compounded by the layout of the paintscheme on the nose of the fighter, which "tricks" your eye into seeing it as more pronounced than it actually is.
  17. Hey, neat mod Ruskii! Looks great. I'm glad I could help
  18. Crasis, as was mentioned a page or so back, you need to fold the engine in as you're folding the seat up. Otherwise, it will not go.
  19. Here you go, 360 degrees of Mospeada, for the full virtual ownership experience. If you click them fast enough, you can pretend you're twirling it around on your desktop
  20. One of my all-time favorite writers. R.I.P.
  21. Motorcycle rider, that's yoo-oo-oo-ou Motorcycle touring, that's a-a-a-a-all
  22. I received my MH Rey today . Fortunately, I haven't experienced any of the issues with it that others have mentioned here, with the exception of the upper leg joints being a touch too loose, which impairs its ability to stand freely. Other than that, I quite like it - it looks great set up on the display base in "Armer Mode", as it's printed on the box . I'll try to up some pics later, if my camera behaves.
  23. Nevermind
  24. Prototype pic of Beagle Ride Armor (from ToysDaily). It looks fantastic IMO, skinny legs and all
  25. Damn. Hell has, in fact, frozen over. I've just strapped on my skates and preordered - thanks for the heads up.
