  1. its funny you mention this... I just bought the YF-21 from Angolz yesterday at that exact price and with the exact same dilemma as you. So you know my vote! GO FOR IT!
  2. http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w33506857 I think this item is the same as the above pictures... but I can't read Japanese...
  3. It comes with 100 pieces. There is a thread in the Toys forum about this called "Banpresto ichiban goods" or something. It also gives the breakdown of how many of each item you get with the lot purchase.
  4. Over-Drive Inc has the items up for sale somewhat individually. You can buy the figures individually. I think the Towels are sold as a set and the bowls are individual...
  5. Not sure if this was posted anywhere else.... http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/ Towards the bottom you can see a sign that looks like a Klan Klein Itasha RC Car (like the ones for Ranka and Sheryl) coming out in 2009. At least thats what I think the sign says, can't read Japanese after all. Also theres a new set of trading cards on HLJ... http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN955431
  6. The economy is definitely hurting my toy buying habits. I've been fortunate the downturn hasn't affected me directly, but the atmosphere has me thinking in a more money-conscientious way. Of course, with the Macross Frontier frenzy that I'm in, I ended up spending more in the last 3 months than I have on Macross items in years... But as soon as the frenzy drops, it'll be back to cost-consciousness.
  7. I'm pretty sure I saw this book @ Kinokuniya in LA a month ago. They also had the Groundwork book for Diebuster and the Top2!perfect book. But again, this was a month ago...
  8. I think having enemy mechs would be a good idea, I picked up both Q-Raus and think they're great. I guess my only concern would be the price. If my memory serves right, a 1/60 scale Regult (or the officer mech, forgot the name) would be pretty large. Significantly taller than anything else thats come out so far. If they can keep the price reasonable I would buy at least a Regult and a male Power Armor.
  9. I think its intended to hold 10 issues per binder. Some members had purchased equivalent magazines for Gundam and that was how the binder system was done.
  10. Before the internet, I thought there was only Robotech. And that was mostly through the novels, RPG books and a few pre-owned rental tapes. The closest I got the Macross was through the Macross II RPG books and a Clash of the Bionoids VHS. Both of those I thought were just butchered sequels to Robotech. Then one day I went to the LAPL and went online for the first time...
  11. I bought a few Macross items myself... and started watching the whole series over again starting from episode 1.
  12. I voted Yes, for a reasonable price. Of course a reasonable price being in the hundreds... maybe $300?
  13. Just going to piggy back on what everyone else has been saying... that was GREAT! I don't think I could have asked for much more (besides AltoxSheryl... and some subtitles I guess). I'm going to start ordering all the Blu-Rays now...
  14. Is this a different set of cards from the ones linked in the first post? They both indicate a 90 card set and approximately the same MSRP, reference the same "favorite characters", but have different names... I think.
  15. I just picked up my subscription from Kinokuniya San Francisco and they gave me issue #2. Almost a month lag time between release and pickup. Oh, and they had a copy in their lower level "Anime/Manga" store if anyone is interested. Around $10 i believe.
  16. http://www.hlj.com/hlj_gallery2/v/c3hobby/DSC_5599.jpg.html HLJ suggests that the 1/100 line will have the VF-27, YF-21, VF-1, VF-4, VF-25, VF-0, VF-19, VF-171, and YF-19.
  17. HLJ has some coverage of the C3xHobby Chara Hobby event from over the weekend. Theres a picture of the Ozma SoC DX in there and a VF-25F 1/100... someone want to pass it along or post it? There were also pics of the 1/72 model as well..
  18. It is definitely a great time to be a Macross fan... I remember buying a whole bunch of overpriced ARII PVC non-transformable Macross toys (the ones that only had one mode and came in a bubble pack) just because that was the only toy available besides the 1/55s.
  19. Best Buy and Walmart will have these for sale tomorrow 9/12. There was an exclusive deal brokered with the distributors in return for "promotional considerations". Everywhere else gets it on the 26th.
  20. I remember pre-Yamato I couldn't afford any 1/55's, so I bought a whole bunch of the horrid ARII toys. I was quite proud of the fact that I could find almost a set of those. Then I found MW and picked up a VF-17D toy, and for a long time that was my pride and joy. Good times.
  21. I remember seeing an episode, think it was the last episode, randomly when it first aired and thinking the show was fantastic! Watching the first episode really puts CG in perspective though.. I don't remember it looking like that. Still, its a great show so far. I read somewhere that it cost $1.5-2 million an episode to produce, making it the most expensive show to shoot at the time.
  22. Dang I wish I had seen that earlier. I don't have any 1/48s nor can I afford to have a bunch, so this was to be the One 1/48 I had to have. I really hope a reissue comes out.
  23. I bought a whole bunch of those, again, at a time when there were no Macross items coming out. Nowadays I still keep them around in some box. They aren't great, but no point in getting rid of them. I rather like the little figures that come with the Valks
