Out for revenge for being left for dead by humanity, but with a fervent love for love triangles and anything Minmei. But Alto will be the key for peace, since he kinda adheres to the two-girl principle, and both of those girls happen to be like minmei.

hehe, you had me until you suggested to let the robotech people have a shot at it. granted, macross 7 is not my favorite in the franchise, but i would take it anyday over whatever HG has to offer. who ever said that the story isn't finished? It's only HG that refuses to let go of the H/M/M triangle. probably because they can't think of anything original at all. face it, if they did something Robotech without any reference to the macross characters, they wouldn't even know where to begin. and there was a sentinels series. at least the start. and i don't know about everyone else, but GAWD was that awful.

I was finally able to start watching R2 over the weekend. this series is still great! didn't expect it to be able to keep up its pace and intrigue, but so far i am pleasantly surprised. but... i watched up to ep 13 and since most of you seem to have gone beyond ep 13 already, i will first refrain from reading more of this thread, lest i be spoiled. this is one series where i can't afford a spoiler.

ach... the memory of their "twin-dialogue/laugh" gimmick is just plain painful. but i'll tell you the villain that has yet to be defeated... Basara's mountain. far as i know, he never did get to make that mountain move. toughest villain yet.

Yeah, i know that, no need to explain. i was making a rhetorical question/reaction as a sheryl fan. you don't plaster The Queen's face to a wall. ya just don't. all in all, that whole scene from the time sheryl wakes up in alto's bed, to the time alto and mikail are called for duty, was funny and endearing. just realized, this time it was alto who got sheryl conscious of their faces being too close to each other. usually it's alto who gets all red and fuzzy brained. too bad for sheryl, alto wasn't even looking at her but at her earring. speaking about that earring, is Alto the only one that knows about the Fold Quartz? Bilra must think him important indeed in the grand scheme of things to tell him this. Aside from Luca, of course, but i assume luca didn't get his information from Bilra or SMS.

Watching SDFM again when i have some free time, and i finished ep 10 (Miss Macross), and, of course, got re-acquainted with that super-snob of an actress Janis Merin... but what i didn't expect was to get a Sheryl Nome-Grace vibe. Remember that scene, where Minmei was waiting to be called, and Janis was having a discussion with her manager? The manager named Mariko (who just happened to be wearing glasses too!), was saying that maybe they shouldn't have joined at all, to which Janis replied that "it's her job" in a haughty way, of course. haha, sounds like sheryl and grace... well, at least ep1 sheryl and grace, that is. back when sheryl seemed like a snob, and grace an angel... funny how those perceptions of sheryl and grace turned out to be completely the opposite. but then again..... are we going to see a scene of sheryl drunk (or sick) throwing some wine at ranka's dress?

hmmmm... come to think of it... interesting that after all the macross series that have come and gone, i can't think of a real honest-to-goodness old school "evil"villain. yup, even gepelnitch had his/her redeeming moment at the end. just goes to show how well rounded macross characters are... even the "villains". in effect, it's actually hard to label anyone in the macross universe as an actual "villain", in the classic sense of the word. but in answer to the question, my favorite would still be Kamjin! the ultimate bad-as$. even in his short appearance in DYRL, he owned Focker. hehe. worst (read as: most annoying) would be those twin protodevlin near the end of Mac7. GAD, i hate hearing them laugh. arg.

yup, and wait til Ranka hears about that from mikhail.

ok, haven't backread yet, just watched the sub. just want to say it's awesome. new End song for the win!! i like it. and my sympathy is with sheryl and the vajra. poor poor vajra. and sheryl. she'll fight back! and what's with alto pushing her head into the wall, wtf? well, ok, she did get a punch in... and a few slaps, and a.. kick?? You Don't Mess with the Sheryl! hehe.

Ok, after watching the movie a third time, and planning a fourth and fifth with another group of friends, just some additional thoughts: I just realized that more than the other actors who portrayed batman in movies, bale created a "batman" that could not in any way be confused with Bruce Wayne. what i mean is, even knowing that batman is bruce wayne, whenever i see bale's Batman persona, I can see how no one would ever connect him to bruce wayne. he just looks, feels, acts differently. i'm comparing this to the others. - Adam West and George Clooney... oh my, do i really need to talk about that? - Michael Keaton. He plays his bruce wayne a bit weird. and you always notice weird, so you could equate one weirdo with another. and keaton-bruce's quiet and introspective moments just sounds like the batman sometimes. (oh and of course, this is without even mentioning that he hangs upside down in the morning like a frickin bat... when reporter Vicky Vale is on his bed. whatanidiot. both of them. haha). - Val Kilmer -- this one, he played his bruce wayne a little too close to batman. serious, brooding, quiet and obviously with a dark secret. while kilmer is a good actor, i didn't think he made any effort to act differently as batman, as he would bruce wayne. for me, this performance (with respect to differentiating between bruce wayne and batman) is the weakest. -and now we have bale. i've seen TDK 3 times, i also watched Begins again for the 10th (?) time, and i just can't connect batman with bruce wayne. no one in his right mind would. i dunno, is it just the matter of changing his voice (yeah i know some hate it)? or the way batman consciously frowns all the time, whether or not he's talking? His change in demeanor? I know this is an old observation, one proobably thrown around as early as Batman Begins. but seeing how much the Batman character has grown from Begins to TDK, i think it's just more pronounced this time around.

Dear god almighty, noooo!!! we'd have an-all out fight between batman and two-face arguing over who among them rachel dawes loved more. cheese! while we all thought her character was dead, her specter will still haunt movie 3. yikes!

well, the idea to create the first cylon might have been divine inspiration from a "one" god (which by that time was a pretty weird concept, i'm guessing). And then that first cylon would be hired to baby-sit baby Saul Tigh. and while she's at it, she'll also baby-sit the future parents of Tyrol, Foster and Anders and... oh you know where this is heading.
