well it sure seems to me that they're on opposing factions. or at the very least, they don't get along that well. first hint was when the grace AIs were discussing that their plan was not 100% successful because they underestimated the power of the SMS, the same SMS that bilrer owns. next was, as you mentioned, when grace couldn't access infor from inside bilrer's mansion. to do something like that, bilrer must know that someone was watching him, and it's not someone you can easily give the slip to without superior security technology. and lastly, again the grace AIs were discussing that bilrer is making a play for alto, and they're discussing the possible ramifications of bilrer's move against their own plans. so now i'm getting the impression of a cat and mouse game, with bilrer as the man going up against the conspirators connected with grace. and also, i'm not entirely sure we should completely equate the actions of the grace AIs with the Galaxy fleet as a whole. maybe they're a civilian group inside galaxy, much the same way SMS is inside the Frontier.

hehe, you really want to build up your library? go for the Wheel of Time series. that's an instant 11 books in your library and one more coming soon. good luck putting any of them down (well, ok, book 10 you can put down, but the rest are time stealers). as wolfx said, go for ender's game. but don't stop there. the ender's game novel is pretty straighforward. it only becomes a bit more hard-edged sci fi with the sequels and the spin-offs.

huh? all i hard from the episode is that she was fairy9. didn't hear anything to hint that she had no talent of her own at all, or that her talents were given to her. unless i missed something?

as for sheryl's condition, i don't think grace will actively set out to kill her. maybe as far as grace is concerned, sheryl is dying anyway. my speculation is that the poison is still lingering in her system. and if left unchecked, it would eventually kill her. thus, by stealing sheryl's blood sample, grace made it sure that traces of the poison would not be detected in time. Unfortunately for her, grace doesn't know that michael is already suspecting posion. if sheryl's condition continues to deteriorate, then we could count on michael to put 2 and 2 together, and shout BINGO! of course, that's assuming that the pineapple stuff klanklan crammed down his throat will not affect him yet. hehe.

alto getting a promotion... michael getting a mouthful of pineapple salad... damn. looks like we're looking at the future skull 1, ladies and gentlemen. hehe.

Sheryl Ranka sing-off FTW!!! Man, that was fun. a fun and lively episode, and i enjoyed it immensely. you know those episodes were you didn't know you were smiling all throughout? yup, this is one. actually, even when they were showing clips from previous episodes. i was smiling. why? i just realized how awesome the action sequences are. it's been 14 episodes of this quality of mecha action? wow. At first it seemed to start out like a recap episode (and that point i thought to myself, ok standard recap. no way to go around it). but it veered off that path, and went into "reveal" mode. although it raised more questions than answers, the discussion between the multiple personalities of grace gave a better understanding of how grace's AI works. ok, not actually personalities, per se. i think, more like a merged consciousness? whatever it is, their discussions sure felt like Seele and NERV all over again, which sends "conspiracy" signals all over me. i shiver in anticipation. An at this point, we are starting to see at least the two factions in play in this conspiracy. richard bilra and his SMS is now clearly opposite Grace's side, at least. Grace's group has underestimated the power of Bilra's SMS group. And while Grace's group seems to be strengthening its hold on the singers, Bilra's group has made a play at Alto, a fact that did not escape the attention of Grace's group (voice overs during diamond crevasse). which leads us back to the Triangle!! HAHA, this is macross indeed. and subtlelty be damned, this is a TRIANGLE and you better know it (even Ranka just HAS to make a triangle sign while singing). funny how even alto KNOWS he's in a triangle. after all these triangle in all the macross series, SK is going all out for this one. and i'm loving it. i also love how the sing-off ties into the nyan fro liner notes. with the mention of the live guerilla concert at the formo, and sheryl singing along with ranka's version. and the Sheryl's SOS then straight to What bout my Star finally gets animated. cool. and cute pic of klan feeding michael. but please, dear god, DON'T let that be pineapple salad. scary thing is, it sure LOOKS like pineapple salad. yikes. the plot's getting deeper, but not necessarily murky. the seriousness and action that was eps 13-14 gave way to a lighthearted look into what makes the macross franchise unique and wonderful. brilliant change of pace and mood, as only macross can bring seemlessly, and i wouldn't have it any other way. p.s. if sheryl's Fairy number 9, i wonder who the other 8 were? how long has grace's group been acting? how far does the rabbit hole go? and where does Mylene Jenius fit into all this???

ok how about this for a summation of my macross fixation: 1. The tears: in SDFM, seeing the macross rise again post SW-1. "Sweeeeeet!" just doesn't get old no matter how many times i watch it. 2. The Vibe: seeing macross plus, 7 and zero. cool, i'm getting some macross vibes. grooovy! 3. The Shakes: seeing WTF-1 at the end of Ep12!! "W-W-W-W--WTF??!!!!!"

maybe there was a problem with reception. and you also have to consider that sheryl usually speaks clearly. when she said thank you, she said it a bit softly. alto probably wasn't used to hearing sheryl's voice like that. hehe. or you could be right. alto might already be imagining his atmosphere flight.

ok, what could, theoretically, be a wedge between alto and ranka in the future (similar to the minmei-singer/hikaru-pilot dichotomy)? i'm guessing it's the vajra thing. with ranka seemingly growing sympathetic to the vajra, and alto's anger at them being reinforced, later on this might be a major issue. i dare say it would not be so easy for alto to let go of his anger. the memory of the SMS pilot being crushed will come back again and again, and seems to be a considerable source of trauma for him. in other words, come crunch time, if ranka tries to stop alto from destroying more queens, what would alto do? and how would alto feel when he finds out that ranka herself is a "little queen"? would this basic difference between them drive them apart?

i agree. the green vibe is there. but if the big reveal down the line is that the vajra was merely the result of an ecological unbalance (think Godzilla), i would consider it a letdown.
