  1. yes it has! here or in another thread. dear GOD i thought i had already forgotten this, but it's come back to haunt me.... so wrong...
  2. battle 7's bridge bunnies, perhaps?
  3. yeah. isamu got his helmet shattered too. good thing, otherwise that scene where he rams his head against the console wouldn't be as cool.
  4. huh? what gave you the idea that it wasn't alcoholic? did i miss something?
  5. Alright!! it surely is a a great read. have fun. and also, it's a short book so you won't have trouble finishing it.
  6. you have an entire series right there. i like the concept of there being factions within the PC. one determined to wipe out the humans that they created, and the other wanting to keep humans alive. In order to stop the doomsday scenario, someone separated the birdman's head from its body. hence "it cut off its own head". EDIT: i'd like to think the PC altered the dna of all of humanity. the mayans might just have been the first offspring, hence their blood remains relatively undiluted and closest to birdman blood.
  7. AND only if it's the superior that does the purchasing.
  8. why all the fuss about sheryl's plane going down? i've always thought that it was just done as a proper segue to northern cross, since that ED does have valkyries doing nose dives while may'n sings. (yup, that's me as the ultimate optimist.life is good.sheryl will live and be loved.) and YES, sheryl is so frackin cute when she was drunk!! good thing they didn't do a "misato" drunk, coz that would be so old by now.
  9. good theory! OR maybe when he is micloned, he IS elmo kridanik!
  10. you mean he'll tell sheryl that he loves her, then take ranka to the side and whisper, hey just wait til she croaks ok, then we'll be together, ok? wow. even Hikaru couldn't pull this off. or... could he?
  11. omg, best.ending.ever.
  12. hmmm... now that you mention it. i'm surprised exedole didn't lash out at max: "i knew it! you lied! you did have that power all along!" nevertheless, that's not a fair analogy. whenever you put kaifun and basara in the same sentence, basara comes out as 100% the best character/hero ever.
  13. "bitch", meaning that Basara PWNED gamlin on a regular basis. and even despite that, gamlin looks up to basara halfway through the series, and sometimes goes against mylene to side with basara's point of view. clearly, gamlin IS basara's bitch.
  14. good points on the time gap. how about this then... PC arrives and starts tinkering with earth's local sea-creatures 500,000BC (or to be more precise, 497,130BC). PC continues genetic manipulation on its ship or city (thus, effectively taking the "rooy kamu" on a voyage aboard the birdman's ship). PC citizens leave earth, leaving behind its project on auto-pilot. fast forward to time of the homo-sapiens. the newly developed human race is ready to be released into the world. birdman releases humanity onto the mayan islands, and disappears to go into hibernation (AFOS), until such time that humanity becomes technologically advanced enough to become a threat.
  15. hey, no fair comparing. alto helped ranka with her plane. sheryl had to do hers on her own, and the paper she used was one she had previously crumpled.
  16. I would have to totally diasagree, but only insofar as you say that there shouldn't be any other Macross. while i acknowledge the excellence that is DYRL and flashback, i wouldn't go so far as wishing that there is nothing else after.
  17. my bet is on ep 25. unresolved til the last second.
  18. actually, if you consider priestess sarah as a town idol of sorts, then so far all animated macross series so far have fulfilled ALL three requisites.
  19. actually, the way i see it, it'll be 100% a happy ending for sheryl. well kinda. either (a) she lives and alto stays with her (BEST!!), (b) she dies, but before then alto confesses or tells her something that she'll be so happy about, and she'll die happy. (come on, don't tell me she's gonna die AND alto chooses ranka over her. too cruel; ain't gonna happen ) OR c) alto doesn't end up with her, but she lives. life sucks, but hey she gets to live, when a few minutes ago she was surely dying. see? either way she wins. but i do prefer option a, please!
  20. whispo made it for me. and yes, once they do that, it's game over, i'm a slave. .
  21. though i'm not sure if there is a MOTHER QUEEN, i'm pretty sure there are several queens (or sub-queens, if there is a mother queen), as early as in ender's game. the queen that mazer rakham killed was only that fleet's queen. killing the fleet's queen killed the fleet effectively, but other fleets (on other planets) remained alive and conscious. in fact, in the last planet, i remember that all the remaining queens were supposedly gathered on the bug home planet to prepare for ender's final assault. as for the supposed difference between hive mind and queen mind, all i'm saying is that the distinction is a human concept. a human concept has to place intelligence or consciousness in a single entity; it's the limit of human understanding. i, for one, can't begin to fathom what a real collective consciousness is like. so as a human, i would have to distinguish between a collective consciousness (one consciousness for all) and a queen consciousness (a queen with control over all). what i'm saying is that for the bugs, they may be entirely the same thing. the grace analogy is good, that's also what i was thinking. the grace collective wants to become the mother queen!!
  22. Grace: I... am your mother! Sheryl: No. No. That's not true. That's impossible!! Grace: Search your feelings. Look at our fashion sense. Look at your "hopes and dreams", and my "despair and nightmares". you *know* it to be true! Sheryl: NO! NOOO!!!
  23. hmmm... i'm actually surprised that alto's brother is still in the story, and still trying to convince alto that h's been acting all this time. MAN, he's persistent. but i'm beginning to see his point. while alto seems sensitive to, and aware of, everything that's going on around him, he always has that certain level of aloofness or distance about him. he just doesn't know how to give himself over completely. just about the time i saw this distance break down was when he cried outside sheryl's room, saying" enough". but the moment he stepped into the room and started holding sheryl, you could actually argue that he's back in character playing the "strong" card, acting in whatever way that would give sheryl strength. so for the last 2 episodes, i would certainly like to see alto finally breaking down and admitting what he really wants (and let it be sheryl please!!), and without all that bravado that he covers himself in. just pure, hikaru-type honesty would be nice. although i wonder just how much of a wuss the real alto is. hehe. he might break down and cry in front of sheryl while confessing his love, and sheryl would be thinking, "ummm, ok, this crybaby is the guy i fell in love with? erm... i think i better call ranka, maybe he still wants his man back."
