  1. but if the vajra trulyhave unlimitedand instantaneous fold travel, it doesn't matter where NUNG puts its center.
  2. 30th anniversary macross DVD special... with country music background!! now that's different!
  3. Why of course! I would definitely trust you over the official macross frontier webpage and compendium any day!
  4. then wouldn't it have been so much simpler to just ask permission from his wife to use the nukes, rather than contact officers on earth? or has their fighting gone THAT bad already. as much as i would like to add observations on the presidency issue of glass (frontier or entire NUNG), i brought it all up in the "macross government thread" that was around some time ago. for the life of me, i can't find it anymore. too bad, coz it was an interesting back-and-forth on the topic of glass' presidency, running along the reasoning lines of practicality, earth-centric nature of humans, interstellar civilizations and political structures. for now, i still find the concept of a mobile government so interesting. and after reading the Foundation books, (where they don't even remember where the original home planet of humans was) i'm pretty sure that type of earth-independent civilization is where the macross government system is headed (if they're not there already). EDIT: but i still think Leon is not the official next-in-line for the presidency. he just happened to be the next highest civilian authority that time. i'd like to think the moment the rest of the fleets get a hold of the death of Glass, they would appoint the real next in line, or hold an election, or the true Vice President in some other fleet becomes president.
  5. YEY!! Exedole Folmo day!! bikini-clad bridge bunnies in his honor!! YEY!!
  6. excuse me, i'd like to think it makes her simply cuter. hehe.
  7. hehe. friendicidal. cool. the cookbook's growing. yeah, we totally forgot about the bento that Capt. Wilder ate. hmmm... was that the same episode where ozma saves the bridge from a cannon with his own barrier? if so: bento cooked by bridge bunny = acting totally calm and unresponsive in the face of imminent death.
  8. yes, precisely. it's a homage to WW1/WW2. and you're right, given that the humans have dispersed, it would have to be an enemy with enough numbers and with capability for instantaneous fold that would threaten all planets and fleets of humanity (vajra, anyone) for it to be considered SW2. On the other hand, like i said, if humanity is still earth-centric (meaning, earth is still considered the HOMEworld, and the other worlds and fleets merely "branches"), earth-based historians might very well label it already as SW2, even though the majority of humans are somewhere else.
  9. the confusion arose when the official macross F website designated Glass as President of the entire NUNG. which presupposes a mobile seat of power (which also ties in with the general concept of space emigration).
  10. but recent discussions and discoveries would seem to indicate that megaroad-1 isn't lost at all. it's just a what-if scenario that isn't canon.
  11. i guess it would depend. if by this time, humanity is still earth-centric, then i think historians will consider it a SW if, and only if, the fighting threatens earth. devil's advocate: but dreamweaver, wouldn't that mean that the sharon apple incident would be SW2?? dreamweaver:
  12. while i still like the idea that Glass was the president of the entire NUN government, i would like to think that in case of his demise, someone else (i.e. vice president) has been pre-appointed as next-in-line for the presidency, other than the president's own aide/chief of staff.
  13. I'd reply, but i don't know what "pimp juice" means, and what it's supposed to do. EDIT after wiki: got it! in that sense, yeah i GUESS it's like pimp juice.
  14. Somewhere in NC, Orson Scott Card is plotting my assasination. "That's ONE less reader, DAMN YOU dreamweaver!!"
  15. Retcon!! (wayne's world change ending dance) huh? what spam?
  16. well, he could have escorted Megaroad 1 for a while in 2012, then came back by 2016 after his tour of duty. then he was appointed UNS commander.
  17. hmm... you know, you got me thinking. i wonder what level a space conflict has to reach before it is classified as SW2. the protodevlin attacked and waged war against 3 macross fleets, at least. the vajra attacked two fleets (3 if you include the 117th). both the protodevlin and the vajra could, potentially, threaten the existence of all humanity if they spread. will it only be considered SW2 if the battle actually reaches earthspace?
  18. by this time, it'll be a surprise to me if the show doesn't pull a surprise resolution to the triangle. so either way, it's gonna surprise me! SK has won already. but actually, that "kill ranka" statement did catch me off-guard already. i watched it RAW, and my mind back-tracked a second... waittaminute, did he really say "ranka" and "kill" in the same sentence??!
  19. easy to read, but not easy on the heart. that series gets more depressing as it goes on... I've always felt that the Beanverse (for lack of a better word) books are a sort of fanservice to the ender fans who would like to know more about the battle school boys and girls. storywise, i think it doesn't hold a candle to the complexity and substance that is Speaker of the Dead and the sequels. but because of the familiar (and beloved) characters, it's still quite enjoyable. it's kind of a like a nicotine patch for all those who wanted to see story's ender continue immediately after the bug wars, not a 100 or so years after. if you don't really care what will happen to bean, petra, hot soup and the rest of the gang til they grow up, then the bean books will not really offer you anything new. more political than sci-fi, in my opinion.
  20. thanks! that clears it up. y'know, if it were any other guy, i'd say that he intentionally lied about the alcoholic content to get the girl drunk! but... this is alto we're talking about...guess not.
  21. i agree. i know a lot of people who loved ender's game, but couldn't finish speaker. actually, if you think about it, the bean spinoff series has a closer feel to ENder's game than the rest of the actual ender sequels. nevertheless, i read em all, and liked most of it.
  22. really? he said that? ok MUST WATCH SUBS now. jeez. what a cop-out. feels like a public service reminder. "ok keeds, sheryl may be acting a little drunk, but remember, she's not really drinking any alcohol, and neither should you! just pretend you're drunk and it'll be just the same. wink wink." but i still think she's a bit intoxicated somehow. those drinks maybe still has some kick in them, even just a little.
