  1. i really wanted to love that fu@ker, honest, but it was such an unholy damned mess. the only good thing i could salvage from it all was the 1/72 DYRL Minmay...
  2. Hear, hear... yeah, it seems like after all that cutesy girly-girl innocence of the very-late 90's/early/mid 2000's-ish, Hoary old Slu-ttyness is back with one hell of a vengeance, this time firmly entrenched with Lolicon. there is no small degree of great charm in girly-girl sweetness, and once upon a time, even cheap Panty shot fanservice could be quite adorable, but today, even the best of things are quite fatally tainted by a all-pervasive fowl trashiness of exceedingly low order. sad to admit, Japan has really lost their edge in just about everything these days, and it seems like they'll probably never get anything at all like it back...
  3. if i could only find a way to justify the dear price... my YF-19 1/60v.I has given me so many damned problems that i just had to GORILLA GLUE the damned thing in FIGHTER to serve as a quarter-assed display piece, so i've really all the reason in the world and then some to find a way to upgrade. hell, if not for my pair of 19S, i think i'd HAVE to pull the trigger on one of these, for the sake of my personal well being, price/consequence be completely damned. in fact, this baby is looking better all the time regardless. so much so, in fact...AAAHHHH!! HOLD ME BACK GUYS!! I'M TRYING TO FIND A SLOT ON MY COMPUTER TO INSERT WHATEVER MONEY I CAN MANAGE TO SCROUNGE UP. I'M GONNA GO INTO BANKRUPTCY AT THIS RATE!! WAAHHH!!
  4. reminds me of my PG ZETA build. took three solid days of devotion to get it done, though i imagine it went much smoother than what it sounds like you are having trouble with here...
  5. well, i'm attempting to get somewhere on this damned thing, a little here and there...
  6. well, my preorder finally showed up, for better or worse. obnoxiously large assed box and all; - the hell am i supposed to put that Bastard, anyway?!? not all that much stuff coming out of such a behemoth-ass carton, no? - anyway, this Tales entry sure gets the red carpet treatment and all, i suppose due to the Tales' series' 15th anniversary and all that good stuff. i'm expecting some halfway decent things of this entry, and it better deliver, considering how much a letdown Tales of Graces has proven itself so far...
  7. bout damned time they did. not so sure if it's all ultimately worth the profound price increase incurred, but YMMV...
  8. too bad, my GARLAND's seat-support arm snapped last time i futzed with it. the YAMATO USA supplied shoulder strut replacements still hold beautifully though, despite rampant paint chipping. i just put mine back in the box for now, perhaps i can get a parts donor for cheap somewhere...
  9. whoop, my bad indeed. i had gotten ESCAPE L.A. and ESCAPE NEW YORK mixed up. i was tired or something. ESCAPE from NEW YORK, now there is a true Masterpiece of a film, IMHO. now, ESCAPE from LA... well, not quite...
  10. absolutely nothing to feel guilty about with that particular pleasure whatsoever. now my Anime doll collecting, and the sewing skills i've learned in order to make clothing of personal choice for them, well, that would surely be the sort of "Guilty Pleasure" that would be surely guaranteed to kick one clean straight out of "Man Academy" for good...
  11. if you wind up with one too many "scrap" Fockers after you custom work, i might wish to buy one off you, to serve as spare donor for my own...
  12. indeed, while they may look like crap, the 30 year-old 1/100 and 1/72 ARII/IMAI/BANDAI Glue&Paint Model Kits are actually possessed of far more ruggedness and overall "playability" than this 21st century, supposed GUNPLA-type BANDAI PLAMODEL...
  13. perhaps... but the lines of BATTROID chest are so smooth and trim now, and the Valk now benefits from zero parts swapping, aside from gunpod placement, landing gear deployment and optional parts, all of which are non-integral to transformation. i just look at the HI-METAL now in the same general light as the old 1/55 chunkies, at least in so far as the nonexstant blast shield is concerned. on that topic, i did attempt a mod to the HI-METAL's swappable shield, to enable it to fit into place in the fashion that the 1984 1/55 Hikaru STRIKE DYRL does, but clearances are so blasted tight with the HI-METAL that it ends up looking really off, despite the fact that it manages to hold in place well enough and all. too bad, can't have it all, i suppose...
  14. i for one sure hope so; then i might actually be able to actually afford to begin catching up on things...
  15. nope, that's clearly a stylized videodisc case. shape is way off in respect to an actual VHS cassette; - i guess someone felt it added to the Retro-Style that i guess COWBOY BEBOP tends to exude, or something of that sort... (( sorry, haven't seen BEBOP, and know next to nothing about it, so i cannot be expected to understand what they are precisely getting at, besides a general sense of retro-nostalgia, at the very least... ))
  16. in case anyone was wondering; yes, i've "done away" with the "necessity" of the swappable cockpit blast shield for BATTROID on mine. what i did was to carefully prise away at the inner-side of the forward fuselage/chest hump with an X-ACTO, thinning it out in there in key spots, allowing the chest panel to come down and in much tighter and cleaner than was possible with the thicker inner surface, and the swap-out blast shield in proper place (which is the 1/100 HI-METAL's sole mandatory point of variable parts-forming, but of no small annoyance to me all the same) i've now got an inaccurate, but much more neat-and-trim BATTROID out of this thing, IMHO, and i've also whittled away at that swappable blast shield part, getting it thin enough, and of proper general shape, to fit over the canopy in place in BATTROID there. only real issue left to solve is exactly how to enable the modded shield to somehow clip/slide/etc. into place in BATTROID there and stay put. not an overly big deal IMHO, as i am actually quite perfectly happy with the shield-less look at present, but an issue i'm working at solving all the same...
  17. i've far too much coming up within the next 2/3mos. otherwise i'd be double-dipping in a heartbeat here. i mean, my Yammie DYRL 1stEd. is still in one piece and all, despite the flaking canopy coating, and off-color, repaired shoulder hinges and all that various and sundry awesomeness, but to have a perfect 1/60v.II Focker 1S, with all of the goodies Yammie had added for their 30th renewals included, well... damn.
