  1. Hmmm now I'm contemplating getting a second 0D. But have to balance that against some other stuff, like Hot Toys Fat Thor to go with Cap and Iron Man.
  2. I'm a lifelong Star Trek, ever since first seeing TWOK when I was 5 or 6 years old. If you liked/disliked any of the Star Trek shows/movies, that's cool. What I can't abide is the sentiment that can be summed up in one line: "I hate [insert episode/series/movie] because it's a betrayal of Gene's vision!" Regarding Gene's "vision": f*** Gene's vision. TOS was a mostly terrible show, and Star Trek didn't become good until they booted his sleazy ass upstairs and out of the way (and yes, Gene Roddenberry was a sleazy dude). People who are that hung up on Gene's "vision" should go watch TMP and reruns of season 1 TNG. That's Gene's "vision." Gene had a good idea, but it took the input and work of many others that came after him to make Star Trek into something worthwhile. As far as Picard? It's okay so far. It's hard to gauge a series from just its premiere episode. A good recent example of this is The Expanse. It's one of the best sci-fi shows I've seen in ages, but it takes a few episodes before it really gets moving. I don't get the impression that Picard is somehow a betrayal of Gene's "vision" or any nonsense like that. Yeah, there's conflict and turmoil in the galaxy. So what? Conflicts are what make stories interesting. I don't subscribe to the notion that the future has to be bright and shiny and full of track lighting and no one ever disagrees with each other for it to be "optimistic." As far as BS science like somehow resurrecting Data from a single positronic neuron or whatever? Yeah, it's BS. You know what else is BS with regards to real science? Warp drives, cloaking devices, self-replicating mines, counselors on the bridge, and tons of other stuff on Star Trek. As a wise friend of mine would often say: Nobody hates a franchise as much as its fans.
  3. Keep in mind that being an anime dude also means he has a harem of good looking girls who all want him, but he's too much of a wuss to actually do anything with. So, there's always a drawback.
  4. Opened VF-1S for 23k. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?lang=ja&itemCode=1128769927
  5. Opened set of SSP for 11k. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1128769875&ref=dos&keyword=マクロス Unopened for 12k https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1128767132&ref=list&keyword=マクロス
  6. For TV M&M the valkyries themselves will be regular releases that you'll have to endure the PO madness for. Then the super parts will be TWE with DYRL-style arm launchers.
  7. Saw it and that sums up how I feel about the movie. It's the best Terminator movie since T2, but remember that that is a very low bar.
  8. I think he's talking about this: It doesn't appear to serve any purpose other than to line up the swing bar properly in fighter mode... which is a non-problem since the swing bar can only lock in one position anyway. So it's just another Bandai non-solution that serves as just another thing that can break, as seen above.
  9. Bandai will release all the movie skull squadron except for Hikaru's 1A. They'll think "We already released Hikaru's unit" because no one working on the 1/48 toys has actually seen the movie. Or an actual aircraft. Hence why no red 011 circle in the SSP set.
  10. That's why I don't like stickers and much prefer waterslide decals.
  11. Opened Max available for 16k. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?lang=en&itemCode=1128433175
  12. Welp, guess that's motivated me to finally touch up my booby duck.
  13. I love parts swapping. That's why I'm such a huge fan of the HMR VF-1.
  14. Maybe Bandai should have included two sets of legs. One super thin set for perfect transformation, and a thicker set for a beefier battroid.
  15. Wow! She's a beauty! Especially love the TV Roy and addition of an HUD to the instrument panel. Don't forget to paint the head arrows black to really make it into a TV 1S.

I love the way you constantly shill and rationalize for NY. Are you on their payroll? Probably shouldn't make ridiculous remarks towards people about careers in news media when you yourself omit key details to make misleading statements about NY. You omitted that NY wants the money by the start of next month for an item that comes out at the end of next month. No other retailer does this. But it's okay if NY does, because everything NY does is right and justified in your book.

NY already demanding blood money for the HMR VF-4 that comes out at the end of next month.

  19. Damn you noel, I was about to post that.
  20. SSP available for those that don't want to wait until April. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1128221353&ref=list&keyword=マクロス
  21. As I already wrote in my DX SSP impressions, the DX's tabbing system for holding the legs and arms in fighter mode are inferior to Yamato. I'm not so wowed by some tampo and a few improvements that I will overlook such obvious flaws.
  22. Same here. I'd much rather apply a few decals myself than go through the hassle of carefully masking and painting the landing gear and having to take great care not to accidentally peel off Bandai's shoddy tampo application. And yet despite Bandai's tampo craze, they still miss some key markings that I consider a must, like the ejection seat warnings and the skull insignia behind the cockpit. Then there's the stupid 100 printing... "Except for [insert long list of drawbacks], the DX is the best VF-1 ever!" Reminds me of a drug commercial where most of the run time is spent on warnings and side effects. "If your gunpod stays extended for more than four hours, please see your doctor right away." Another thing I've noticed is how far forward leaning the DX front landing gear is, which became even more noticeable after @jenius posted his side by side comparison pic: Not a major thing, but now I can't unsee it. Also, even the DX DYRL pilot is still too small, but way better than the TV pilots.
  23. Finally received my ginormous 1/4 scale Commander Shepard.
