Always better to pay in yen than use NY's gouge-y conversion, especially if you have a credit card that doesn't charge any foreign transaction fees. Even the small foreign transaction fees that many cards charge eventually add up, if you buy a lot of stuff overseas.

3rd one paid for at HLJ and ready to ship with my giant box of goodies. I noticed the shipping was a little higher than before. Shipping cost the same as my 2x Millia from NY but for a much larger box of stuff. NY really does gouge on shipping. Anyway, now we play the waiting game.

If you don't enjoy it anymore, then quit, I guess? Hobbies are supposed to be fun. Not sure what the quality of the shows has to do with toy quality. Most of of the Macross shows are terrible, but the same can be said about Transformers.

Ordered 2x from NY since I had a discount coupon burning a hole in my pocket. Despite NY's inflated shipping costs, it ended up being marginally cheaper than 2x at HLJ (before shipping) thanks to the coupon. Don't expect me to be doing cartwheels over saving a measly $10. But credit where it's due: NY finally outdid HLJ.

Pre-painted fan racer and pilot? I must have one. I already have the clear version bundled with the Angel Birds VF-1 but I don't have the time to build and paint it.

No limit, so ordered 2x at HLJ. If the secondary market prices fall because of the reissue, I may cancel one and pick up a Yamato version for the rainbow canopy.

For those not familiar with 20th century Chinese history, during the Great Leap Forward, Chairman Mao ordered farmers all over the country to start producing steel in their homes. Well, it turned out there's a big difference in quality between steel produced in a real factory and steel produced in some peasant's backyard furnace! Oh, and since all these farmers were busy producing makeshift steel instead of, you know, farming food, it contributed to the worst famine of the 20th century. Not a perfect parallel, that's kind of what I expect when getting a KO item. The poor quality, not the famine I mean. On a lighter note, I had a cat named Chairman Meow.

Knowing Bandai there will either be some differences or they'll include extra accessories to "encourage" you to buy another set, just like the 171 and 171EX parts.

You can always just build yourself a time machine and travel back to 2009 when prices were more "fair". No problem! This topic of discussion reminds me of the time Homer was elected as sanitation commissioner. Mayor Quimby: Homer, you idiot! You blew through your entire annual budget in a month! Your department's broke! Homer: Uh, don't worry sir, I've got a solution! Quimby: You better, because those garbagemen won't work for free. Homer: Doh! Just replace "garbagemen" with "factory workers".

Cameras are also better at differentiating tiny color gradients than we can. So slight differences in color that the camera can pick up might be imperceptible to our squishy meatbag eyes. If you own a V1 VF-27, you can probably see slight differences in the greens used. But take a picture and holy crap it looks like Bandai used wildly different green plastics.
