  1. Not this time.
  2. Thanks all. I just used GSI Creos Mr Topcoat semi-gloss. I like the "anime" appearance it gives without being too glossy.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Me too. I guess I'll sell my old one with the red eyes.
  4. Finally checked out at HLJ. Now let's see if I actually get an order confirmation...
  5. I kinda wish I had bought the Arcadia Fire Valkyrie reissue when it came out. I really wanted the Fire Bomber figures.
  6. I assumed those were just stains from all the chocolate ice cream and blue milk Vader must've been binging on between ep 3 and 4, when he didn't have anything to do with all the Jedi gone. That would explain why he fought like an out of shape old geezer in A New Hope. Pretty sweet lightsaber hilt display though!

That's the coolest looking Gundam I've seen in awhile. Will keep this baby in fighter.
  8. Saw Captain Marvel. It's good, but not great. Uneven pacing and jarring shifts in tone. I give it a B-. Looking forward to seeing Captain Marvel punch Thanos in the face next month!
  9. New stuff! So the new Metal Composite RX-78-2 Origin is tonight? Hmmm not sure if I need another... maybe I'll sell my old one after I get this one.
  10. At @davidwhangchoi's behest I touched up a second DX 1J so it'll look like my Yamatos.
  11. Bandai will just release the 1S with no arrows on the head and no pilot figures to achieve a simultaneous TV & DYRL release and then make you buy another TWE if you want a pilot or head with arrows on them. Might as well thrown in a blood-soaked pilot seat as a first edition bonus. Sounds like a plan.
  12. This is like the extra YF-30 stock showing up on HLJ years after the initial release.
  13. To both pitch and bank you'd use have use the adapters for either pitch or banking, then adjust the arms themselves for the other. The Yeti DX adapter will connect to all Bandai stand attachments. So the DX 19 and 31 can use the same Yeti adapters. It's a tight fit, but you can fit two 1/60 valkyries on a single Yeti stand on a Detolf shelf. VF-25s with Yeti banking adapters. This will fit inside a Detolf. I prefer to use the banking adapters. The arms are configured in such a way that I can pitch them up or down.

Bandai really needs to do another Kairos production run. I'm going to want a third if they announce super and armor packs for it.
  15. They're a great choice for someone who doesn't have M&M already (especially when the Yamato versions were selling for insane prices), but I wouldn't buy them if you already have the standard Arcadia reissue unless you absolutely must have multiples to display in different modes. If you just want to "upgrade" your existing valks, the most cost effective solution is to either carefully trim the excess off and apply the included stickers, or find some decals. It'll be just as good as getting the PF for just a little effort.

I'm with @Sanity is Optional on this. I've watched the first season of Love Live and while "like" is probably too strong a word to describe it, I did enjoy that show more than Delta (which isn't really saying much). That show definitely put more effort into developing and differentiating its characters than Delta ever did. All of Delta's so-called "development" came in a series of tediously long character exposition info dumps, which are a hallmark of lazy writing. The entire Walkure "development" came in a single episode long info dump near the end of the series. The only standout voice among the Walkure is Junna; should've just made her the voice of the series, instead of diluting the idol pool among five characters like that. As far as character merchandise, it's all about what sells. Walkure merchandise apparently doesn't sell as well, so they're going back to Sheryl and Ranka.

You can thank the improved CGI used for Delta, as Bandai is just tampo printing what's seen on screen for Frontier and Delta. If it wasn't on the VF-25 CG model, then it meant none on the toys or model kits.
  18. One sold on Mandarake not too long ago. 30k though. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1103914785&ref=list&keyword=マクロス vf-1a 1%2F48
  19. They'd have to be a pretty substantial improvement over Yamato for me to start re-collecting all those VF-1s again. But it'll be great for newer collectors as Yamatos are getting hard to find and expensive. I wouldn't hold my breath for an Arcadia reissue for some of those variants. I'd be happy if Bandai just gave us both VF-1EX at 1/60.
  20. Only the final season of Enterprise was good, minus the two part opener and that awful, awful finale. Easily the worst finale of any Trek series and one of the worst finales for TV shows in general. I don't know who's worse: Captain Janeway doing terrible things because she knows better but doesn't care, or Captain Archer doing terrible things because he's too stupid to know better. Eaglemoss needs to go back and fix the refit Enterprise for the XL line. That one was easily the worst of the XL series.
  21. No, you'll have to pilfer them from a model kit or make your own.
  22. They're exactly like HMR, except instead of a transformation, you literally take it apart and reassemble it with a bunch of a different parts for each mode. Also, the parts are all warped like Bandai left them out in the sun for too long. Also, the looks and proportions in all three modes suck, despite being a partsformer. Even battroid mode retains the stupid too-high leg positioning, again despite being a partsformer. Also the parts don't fit right and fall apart if you look at them too hard. So yeah, exactly like HMR except for the above reasons, and just overall sucking. I can only imagine how many different people had to approve this POS before it went to market.
  23. It comes with a gunpod.

I find it comical that giving customers the merchandise that they paid for is considered "above and beyond" and "heroic" when NY does it. That's the absolute minimum I expect from any store.
