  1. @DewPoint and @F360 thank you!
  2. I decided to go with some different cases when I found a great deal on these while out of town in Chicago. Finally finished setting them up and cleaned (that's a lot of glass to clean!). Time to start loading in and unboxing toys!
  3. That's where I have decided to draw my "moral line in the sand". I'll get a couple of Arcadia and HMR type extras and if later down the road they go up in value I'll sell a few for the going rate (I got six VF-0D's for example). As far as the DX's go from what I'm hearing that's a self solving problem. I probably won't be able to get in on the pre orders anyway. I'm going to be the one paying over retail because other companies/people snapped them up. If I do manage to get a pre order in I'll get as many as I can. If I sell some of them, I sell them at cost. I don't mind paying it forward.
  4. Has anyone purchased/reviewed the the 1/60 Valkyrie Factory VF-1S Focker with Strike parts? I'm curious how it fared. I have a few friends that saw my collection and their nostalgia was strong! I'd like to get them some for presents (I'm not getting Yamato/Arcadia stuff, they're not into it that much). Just something to put on their shelf.
  5. Just a F-150 with a 6.5' bed. I couldn't close the tailgate. Missed it by about an inch (story of my life!). That wasn't a problem, I have TONS of straps. I would have to roll the truck to get the cabs out. And at that point the cabs are the least of my worries!! Strapping them down and padding them so they wouldn't get damaged was nerve wracking. I had blankets covering them and then heavy gauge cardboard over that at contact points. And a lot of straps. But once in and loaded I was pretty confident.. I set the cruise control at 78mph and hammer'd the drive out non stop. The 8hr drive saved me $1700 over buying them new (that's includes gas money). That's $212.50/hr. Not too bad when you look at it that way. They don't disassemble. Which was nice in the sense that I didn't spend the time. Bad in the sense that they're HEAVY! My estimate is 300# and no good way to grab them. If they had "bars" to grab it would have been a lot easier. Loading them in was easy because the pick up point was set up really well to do it. Getting them in the house was a different matter. I'm pretty damn strong (305 bench, 550 deadlift, 415 squat) and by the time the second one was in my office I was done. I wouldn't have wanted to move another because of a fear of dropping it. Thank goodness my neighbor is a ex college football lineman. He's not in that kind of shape anymore, but he is still a monster.
  6. I had a long drive yesterday so I was able to put some thought into a SOC Voltron stand. I figured out how to do it for less money than billet aluminum. I can do it out of stainless steel and have my laser guy cut everything. It's a lot less expensive than billet/CNC work. I have some designs in my head. I wanted to check with you guys and see what you thought about a few details/potential directions. -What sort of finish would you like to see. I could do "no finish" on them which has a certain charm and of course keeps costs down. The edges of the parts will have some "burn" marks from the laser. It's not bad looking, think of it more like patina. In the case of Voltron it may look pretty good because the stand wouldn't pull your eye away from the toy because it's let's say polished/shiny. The stainless itself wouldn't be "bright" either. It will have some marks, "scratches" etc from it being raw. Again, not crappy looking, more of a "battlefield" look. They of course could be had both ways. Polished and raw. The polished would of course be more money and would involve me adding that process (at another vendor). I'm just sticking my finger out in the wind here. -What sort of poses would you guys like to be able to do if you could get the legs up off the ground? Post pics (they don't have to be of Voltron). -What sort of look do you want to see? As minimalist as possible? Fancy? That's all I can think of for now.
  7. I'm with you. I see, at most, one movie on the big screen per year. ell, two this year. Godzilla, and this.

  9. Oh well. If the two I have on the way are goofed up it is what it is. I was going to display one in Fighter and the other in Gerwalk. If I have to "weld" stuff to get it to stay.....I will.
  10. I didn't see it in the theater. I didn't know what it was. Watched it at home. Super fun movie!
  11. I decided I didn't like the brass cases I got (they never made it in from the shop) and put them up for sale. Drove 8hrs round trip today to go pick these babies up. Holy shelf space Batman! Holy bright LED's! They're huge! 78 x 40 x16.5! Time to fill them up. Holy crap, they're heavy! Gonna put a Detolf on each side. Ignore my crappy office carpet. I didn't realize it was that bad......
  12. I don't have the time to build/paint stuff. I wish I did. Between the business and 2000+mi/yr mountain biking, I'm over-booked. It would have to be something right out of a box. I can't say I'm a Voltron fan perse. Not like Macross. Not even close. But, he does hold a little nostalgia. And looks SUPER COOL!!! I don't see movies in theaters much. Maybe once year tops. So my family doesn't really expect that I will go to any. That is unless it has giant robots., giant monster, or better yet, giant robots and/or monsters fighting each other! Guess what movies I have seen in the theater in the past 10yrs. Then add Mad Max........because Mad Max.
  13. Yeah, Voltron is pretty BA. Plus, watched Voltron every day as a kid. I got the Bandai SOC, the Icarus Dark Lion (love this one!) and the Titan Power last week. I neeed to let off the throttle a bit.
  14. Awww, they're itty bitty. I'd like to have some detailed ones that are bigger. Maybe 12-15" or so. Seen anything like that?
  15. Is that a hollow metal pin?

Roger that. Are they continuing to produce/produce again stuff like VF-1S Fockers w/ S&S parts from time to time? Or do they just release new models?
  19. I couldn't resist. Order placed.
  20. It is, I went a little Voltron bonkers last week!
  21. What line is this? How do I find some? I think I need a Falcon and Tie Fighter!

When did the HMR's come out? Did they only produce them for a short period of time? Or do they continue to produce them?
  23. Neither of my Arcadia SV-51 Ivanov's have showed up yet. But this pretty girl showed up today!
