  1. Awesome collection Valkyrie13, some really nice models. i like the VF-0D in gerwalk that looks really cool. Thanks for sharing your collection.
  2. That's looking awesome Wicked Ace, the "Sundowner" scheme transfers well to the VF-0. Can't wait to see it finished.
  3. Wow that ended better than expected, some funny sh#t though. Some fine saturday morning reading. It somehow just seemed like Brian speaking, forever more JsArclight's posts will be read imagining Brian's voice.
  4. I think I'll just pick up the Super-O and Minmay Guard, they look pretty good and I'll keep hoping for a VE-1.
  5. Mega blocks I beleave the Gundams are. Macross lego would be awesome, but such a small market because of HG it will never happen. One can wish though.
  6. As I said I'm looking forward to these but I must admit the more I read and see of them just makes me want to buy some more 1/48s while they are still around. I'm pretty happy with the look of the new 1/60 but I'm not a fan of the flattened back pack as it looks the wrong shape, but I can live with that it just means there is still a place for the perfect VF-1.
  7. Nice proto pics. I'll be picking these up if they are as cheap as they are supposed to be. I don't transform my yammies so non-transforming doesn't bother me at all. These new G-Nu should be just like Bandai's HCM pro line and they are great little figures IMO.
  8. Yeah my main customer last year was a huge Robotech fan and wanted the Fokker D for something different and also it's a model disregarded by most fans, but it was a lot of fun, but yeah it looks almost the same as yours but I moded the kit to have the open intake above the prop and extended the exhaust, thinking of it now I changed quite a bit of the model to get it to look like the line art. I beleave him and I are now just missing the Dragon II but I plan to scratchbuild a couple this year. I've also done a lot of F-14's in macross markings and they seem to be the latest thing for my customers this year, everyone want's a Macross "Jolly Roger" F-14 it seems this year.
  9. This is what I think a lot of people do, take for excample the new 1/60 vf-1 tread, how many times can you make comment on dubble jointed elbows, I post a bit but most of the time I'm lost for anything to contribute and just can't babble on about nothing. I try to post pic's of models I've finished but in the end it's just stuff that's most people have seen before so I've stopped. It's great to see new members signing up and it's great for Macross but I don't think you will see a flood of new posts from them, maybe as some of the older members start to fade away they will become more confident in posting, who knows.
  10. That's a nice model cool8or good to see someone else models more than just the valk's. You did a nice job, I built this model for a customer at the start of last year out of the roden kit, turned out beautiful as your's has. I'll have to get him to send me some pic's of the collection I've built for him over the past 12 months, I think he stands at about 28 macross models I've supplied, but I'm starting to lose count. I know I've built 58 macross kits for customers and 7 kit's for myself in 2007 and it looks like it's going to be a bigger year this year. Great as always work keep it up.
  11. Well over here it is just sold with the testors paints, I mate grabbed it for me I think at a model railway store. I think it was designed more for scale railroad modelers as I haven't seen it in any basic hobby shops but that's nothing new over here. Try any hobby stores that carry a large range and it should be there, it's bottle size is 2 FL. OZ and that's $10.00 AUD but it seems to go a long way. Testor products are hell expensive so I rarely go nere them.
  12. You could also try a product called ELO ( Easy-Lift-off) made by Polly S ( Testors), it's a model paint and decal remover that works on most paint but really works well with enamel paint. Apply, let it soak into the paint, wait for the paint to crinkle, then scrub with toothbrush. I've just used it to great effect but be warned the vapor is very harmful and combustibale. Great product though and wont eat any plastic.
  13. I'm all for the two seaters comming first, I'd be happy with the VT-1, VE-1 then the VF-1D. I'll get an other Roy Skull 001 so I hope this will also be in the first line up, I'm sure it will be since we've seen pic's of it but the two seaters are the selling point of these babies for me.
  14. Well I looked at this tread when ruskii posted it and after reading most of the comments was pretty shocked at how rude some of you have been, I know most of it is in jest but really. OK sure it might not be to everybodys tast but I think ruskii did a great job and tried something different from most of us sticking to the same old display ideas. Ruskii I like what your doing there, I do think the pink pulls a little too much away from Nora and the blue paper idea should work well. My 6 year old daughter was just looking at the pic's and straight away asked how you put the clouds in the table, and the wife said it's nice to see an artistic display instead of seeing more pic's of valks on shelves, but agrees that maybe grey would look better with the white as long as it doesn't hide shin to much. I really like what you are doing and think the table is awesome, I've been wanting to get one for a while and you just convinced me. One suggestion, is there enough room to sit the valks on something other than the feathers like a small box or something that you can hide, build the feathers up around. My idea is to sit the valks just a little above the clouds rather than sitting on them, then you can build up around the edges to give the clouds more depth like they are flying above a cloud ready to pass through some cloud infront, it's a little hard to discribe what I'm thinking, clear in my head. Good job ruskii, nice to see something different and someone not afraid to use his imagination.
  15. This I beleave is the whole trouble, the license issues need to be worked out once and for all.
  16. I agree that there are a lot of other mecha from macross that aren't getting any love that's for sure and I am disapointed that yamato and other companies don't seem to be concerned about them and that sucks. However I think that Yamato is playing the safe game of producing what they know will sell and don't seem to keen on taking the risk of producing the not so popular mecha. One day I'll have my VF-2SS even if I have to build it myself.
  17. I'm the same I don't need every VF-1 in every colour scheme it's just not how I collect. As big a Macross fan that I am I consider myself a Mecha collector not just a Macross collector, as excited as I am about the new 1/60 VF-1's I only plan to get what I feel I need for my collection and at this point it seems I'll be buying in 1/60 a VF-1S Roy, VT and VE and most likely a VF-1D and CF but beyond that I don't see the point in anymore as there is so many other cool mecha out there to buy. For myself I don't really think that a display cabnet full of valks looks as impressive as a cabnet full of different mecha from different shows IMHO.
  18. 100% agree why can't you have both and love both for what they are. I think you hit the nail on the head, it's the "investment" thing. I think people are getting ticked off as they have just whatched their current 1/60's become devalued and feel the same "might" happen to the 1/48. I'm feel the same as eugimon I love my 1/48's and have no reason to get rid of them, but I also would like to have 1/60 VF's to go with the rest of the 1/60 line. As for scale it is very important or they wouldn't even bother, the scale can give a sense of realism and consistancy in a collection. Also the trend is going smaller not larger as space is a concern to companies as it determins how much they can sell to any one customer as that customer has more room for displays if the scale is small. Figure lines such as the Gundam HCM Pro's at 1/200 scale are booming and price is a huge factor, why buy one toy when you can by three, four or more for the same cash outlay. The 1/48's are a master piece and always will be, there big and well detailed and look great on display, but we don't know if it was from the start just a test bead for the new 1/60 line, but like a 69 mustang it's time is over, but it will always be a classic with much love from Macross fans and will always be remembered as the BIG valk.
  19. The 21 is going to come with fast packs and fold booster attachments but no fold booster. I'm sure there will be plenty of fold boosters around to buy off members, but the 21 is complete other than that.
  20. If Bandai has the licence then I would doubt that Hasegawa would even think of trying to compete. Now I'm one of the biggest Hasegawa fans around but if Bandai puts all it's resources into Macross F, on the model side Bandai has Hasegawa out gunned. For one Bandai has multi-gate technology which as far as I know is patented to them alone, this makes models far cheaper to produce as straight away they offer models that don't have to be painted and also allows less sprues needed in a kit. If they use there clever snap fit designs again they will out sell Hasegawa due to not needing great modeling skills to assemble which means you can target even younger model builders. I've been building a few Gundams of late and after building soooo many Hasegawa valks and battroids the Gundam kits are a welcome change, as they are designed far better IMHO. No injector pin marks on detail surfaces, sink holes and join lines that are well hidden if not invisable. With all that you will find that the Bandai kits would be transformable. But again this would all depend on Bandai's willingness to make Macross kit's as good as the Gundam kit's. Also with the multi gate-technology it should give Bandai an advantage in making toy's aswell. By being able to prduce multi colour plastic on one sprue they can fill in spots on sprues with different colour parts meaning less moulds that have to be made meaning cheaper production. I think this is the reason why the HCM pro lines can be sold so cheap and with such good detail. I'd love to see Yamato do the MF toy's just for consistancy but if Bandai pulls all it's resources then I beleave they can blow Yamato and Hasegawa models out of the water. Imagine a 1/32 scale Perfect Grade perfect transformation LED lit VF-25 valk with removable panels to show inner frame on legs, arms, chest, ect. With full armor again with removable panels ect. I think we all know that it's possable but will Bandai put in the effort?
  21. A release date or round about date would be nice, like to know how long I've got before most of my cash is devoted to these new babies. I'd bet on a Febuary/March release though they may hold off to after the 21, but that picture in the scans looks like a production version so they could be being pumped out as we speak.
  22. That so true, my 1/48 Roy will always be the center piece of my Roy collection. However if the new 1/60's are in the price range everyone is hopeing for then my wallet will fair better.
  23. Maybe Bandai just want to see how the range will go so they picked what was really popular and if they sell well then they will re-release the other kit's, makes sence from a marketing standpoint. I'm just glad the VF-2SS is there as I refused to pay US$60.00 plus for a little model kit, I've even seen them go for more, crazy.
