  1. They would be close to 1/100 scale if not a little bigger. Thw wave models are classed as non scale but are close to 1/100 and the revoltech VF-1 are close to the wave VF-0's size which is a lot bigger fighter/battroid. My guess would be somewhere around 1/80-1/90 scale. You should be safe working on the idea of about 1/100.
  2. OMFG! That's an awesome collection and 4 more boxes... better get another room ready.
  3. Now that's a good idea, I'll try that next time I screw a paint job.
  4. So what, are we going to have to buy a 19 fold booster set to get just a fold booster .....I hope not.
  5. The F-14 will always be my fave but the Flanker is awesome that's my fave russian fighter, love the long neck smooth lines. We seem to have turned this into my fave fighter thead but until new pictures emerge or pic's of a final production type, not alot seems to be happening. Come on Yamato bring out some more pic's.......please.
  6. Yes the 23 could have been great I liked it better than the 22 raptor. Thats one reason I like the 21 because it reminds me of the YF-23.
  7. Very true, of course the two would combine their technologies after 30+ years. And who's hating the 21 no one said they hate it, but some of us prefer the look of other valk's better. I'll get a 21 and it will look great in my collection, but will my VF-1S look better, yes IMO. My No.1 valk will always be the VF-1S Strike anything else rates lower IMO. Yamato has done a great job at creating a fully transformable scale replica and I'm very impressed at how good a job they've done, it's awesome for all you guys who rate it as their No.1 valk that you will finally get what you have waited so long for and I'm excited to get such a nice replica of a valk that's in one of my fave macross series. And calling it a bastard love -child does that mean the valk took one look at it and walked out the door.
  8. No not really but that's just me, I've never been a fan of the enemy mecha, but that adds to the appeal of them being the bad guys. I have the Yamato Milia q-rau as I bet most people on here have but it's just not a design that I really like. As for the 21 ability there is no doubt of the 21's greatness in taking on the x-9, it is a great valk the look of it is just not my fave design of all the valk's I'm more a 19 fan. But saying that I'm not a great fan of the 19's in M7 but I'm loving the look of the new VF-25 for macross F, but am a little unsure about the "bugs". It really is for me like rating an F-22 raptor against an F-14 tomcat, to me the F-14 will win hands down in it's appeal even though the raptor is a more supperior combat ability.
  9. Well thats why I guess I don't really like it, never liked the q-rau except for being blown apart. The 21 reminds me more of a turtle than anything else. And as for buying a toy I like well that's what I'm doing, I said I like the toy for what it is just not the overall design of the mech. Who can resist a flying turtle IMO.
  10. I'm with you there sqidd, the 21 is one of my least liked valk but I'll get this for my M+ collection but it will stay in fighter mode. I to wish I could find the pasion of the others who love the design but I guess I like older aircraft alot more than the new fighter designs. But I must admit the design of the toy looks awesome so I like it for that reason. I'm no fan of the 17 either but I love the 19 and 11B much more than the 21.
  11. I'll admit I'm not as big a fan of the 21 as some of you but I'll be buying one of these. It looks great in all modes and the fighter shape is amazing so sleek. I must say though that I can't wait to some of you guys do some customs with this bird. Yamato you have my money you can count on that!
  12. You can use the pen misterryno stated and he seems to have had great success with them, you can use a copic marker which is finer at 0.02mm tip but a lot like to use a mechanical pencil. Gunze Sangyo has a gundam pencil with 0.3mm leads which is a little finer than standard types at about 0.5mm. If you use a pen type make sure it is an achole based version as once dry it won't smudge and you don't have to add a clear coat which just makes more work. The pencil would be best if you are not confident as all you need is an eraser for mistakes. Other than that you go into washes like we use on models but this can be time consuming and a pain if you don't know what you are doing. I'd go with either the pencil or the pens as you get a good effect with either.
  13. Well I was old enough but it was never shown in Oz on TV and I can remember it was about 1992 when I first saw SDFM for the first time when I found a video store that had most of the tapes. But to you guys that got to see it when it was originaly released you are so lucky to have had that in my books. You miss a lot of stuff in Australia but it's a great place even if it is the a%% end of the world. Misterryno I know this is about SDFM but have you seen DYRL and did you like it, as I got to see DYRL before SDFM and it blew me away and now that's my all time fave macross over everything else.
  14. Just think how cool it would be if you could go back and see SDFM on it's TV release back in 84/85? See all those chunky monkies in the shops for the first time. It would be awesome to relive that moment. I to would love to get my hands on some of those obscure valks, thats what Yamato should be doing as Limited versions. A new perfect transfomation 1/60 scale but first they should start with the SDFM valks. It's odd in SDFM that Roy's VF is the only one with the skull markings, I guess thats why they put them on all skull squadron valks in DYRL.
  15. Awesome collection and it is nice to see some enemy mecha. Your work is very well done and I like how you took us on a tour of how your skills have improved. My fave as you know is still that legioss and tread. Great stuff keep'em comming.
  16. I'm only going on the Hasegawa model kit so it could be wrong or SK may have changed it, maybe Graham knows which is the correct colour. In that pic it looks grey to me so who knows which is correct. I'd go with what's in the show but it may change as well in different seens I haven't looked that close. The model colour is listed as 95% cobolt blue & 5% black which makes it a dirty dark blue not quite so bright as the yammie demo but it still looks nice and close. We'll have to wait for a real production version to see how the plastic colour turns out.
  17. I just checked the Hasegawa instructions to see what colour they have the gunpod and it is the same blue as the fighter with a yellow stripe near the muzzel. I don't know if this is cannon but I always thought it was blue. Correct me if I'm wrong as maybe the fast pack gunpod/s where grey.
  18. Reeks of truth, but know one here has forced me to think the way I do about the two it's IMHO, but I beleave SDFM is much more mature and was probably designed for a slightly older audience but macross would survive without a US or western audience, it's just more money if they can tap into it which allows the show to expand, but if Macross had to just stay in Japan it would still survive.
  19. The more I look at this model the more I want a VF-4 and the use of the Minmay guard paris decal design suits this model so well, looks good on a VF-1S looks really good on the VF-4. I agree if yamato doesn't make a VF-4 they're crazy but they can do the VF-11B first.
  20. Those kits look SWEET. The VF-1D looks great but lmm those three kits of yours in gerwalk look spectacular, I really like the 1J and the use of the gundam hands just sets them off.
  21. Well I'm happy with how it looks Yamato is really doing a good job in design and how sleek and thin it is in fighter mode looks awesome. One question though, is the pictures a page back of a resin painted pre-production version as the screws in the feet look painted and it looks like there are some scatch marks on some pieces that fit into one another and on the feet, just wondering. The hands look great, much better than chicken fingers but I'm a little unsure about this detachable arms and legs idea.
