  1. The colours listed look close 60% Navy blue and 40% medium blue but I like to add a few drops of dark sea grey. Ypur build up is awesome and I really like the mesh in the strike cannon, top job.
  2. My 1S turned up today, no missing hands or missprinted skull but it is missing the vertical part of the stand and came with a part that well I don't know what it's for. Now waiting for next month for the 1A.
  3. Thanks for the great comments guys, keeps me inspired to do more posts of my work. Thanks again to all who left a post.
  4. That's some nice work, looking really neat can't wait to see the finished product. Now you need a big ammo belt to wrap around the battroid, the VF Rambo. Awesome work keep us posted.
  5. Thanks Ashton for your kind words. I took the weathering on like I've seen it done on U.S Navy low vis fighter models, since I always use acrylic paint I washed with enamel coours and rubbed it back with enamel thinner on a cotton swab, man you go through a few.
  6. Thanks MechTech and the missiles are there but I wanted the hatches closed for my display so they are trapped away but I have plans to do one with the missiles open so I'll have the best of both worlds. I was thinking about making hinges so they can be opened and closed but with work keeping me flat out I just couldn't find the energy. Plus I like the closed look better than with hatches open but it was more to do with what I wanted in my display.
  7. Ever since I saw SDFM I loved the reactive armor and when I saw M0 had a version for the VF-0 I couldn't wait for a model kit or add on's for the Yamato VF-0. When Hasegawa released thier kit I had to get one but due to time restraints it has been sitting on the shelf until now. I guess I like the extra bulk that the armor gives to the battroids, making them look ready to take on anything. The scene in M0 was awesome showing how tough the VF was with it on, it has to be one of my favourite scenes in the series. Well after three weeks of work I finaly finished my model to go in my Roy display, I am very happy with the out come with all the washes and weathering to give it a realistic appearance rather than just another clean version that I've seen time and again. Well hope you like the pic's, let me know what you think. [attachm nt=46613:9.JPG]
  8. That's one of my favourite VF's and it looks very nice. It's great to see that there is young talant and girls have a great eye for detail. Scale modeling will never die. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing the pictures and look forward to more.
  9. That's some nice shelving sqidd, your display looks really neat. Thanks Fly4Victory for the heads up on the joint colours, I changed the shoulder joint's with the feet and it looks much better IMO. Hoping my 1S turns up monday.
  10. 100% agree with you Zinjo, Macross could cater for so much more than it does and still move forward in leaps and bounds, doing older stories and new alike. 505thAirborn I'm the same, growing up seeing Robotech as a kid and then discovering the original Macross and having a love of originals became a loyal fan, but I can remember all my friends waiting for a sequal to robotech to find out what happens to Scot and does he find Ric's fleet, we wanted to know but it never came, until the SC 20 years later, a bit late for some. I beleave that the Macross storie could be so much bigger than it is and go in so many directions. I'll support any fan who would like the macross univers explored more, as in the end it just makes the Macross univers that much better.
  11. That's some awesome work Ahab, I'm looking forward to future posts of this project. All I can really say is WOW!!!
  12. Well I wouldn't mind at all. They went back and told M0 with roy and I wonder how many people said roy's storie was told in SDFM, I'd love a return to the older days again and people love a completed storie even if it was just a movie and not a full series. I think the story of the original cast had more story to it or Flashback 2012 wouldn't have been made IMO. I think that perhaps the answers are comming of what happened to the Megaroad 01 as it's the only loose end with leading characters. Some explanation even in a totally new series would even be nice, saying they just vanished and that's the end seems a little unimaginative unless you want to include them elsewhere in the story or at leased have the option.
  13. Been charged by HLJ for the 1S and lashed out and bought some gundams as well from the HCM pro line and that awesome RX-78GP03 stamen with that huge weapons system from the fix range. Hope they are as good as they look as these are my first gundams. The eva revoltech looks good havent seen the show but I was looking at the rebuild 00 and thought about getting it with the weapons pack with that huge shield, that looks cool, but I m still deciding as there is so many nice gundams to get. It's just too hard to decide.
  14. I would have thought that the 21 could be flown by any pilot with a small amount of training other wise how could it be a front line fighter if only selected pilots could fly it. Wouldn't this put the 21 behind the 19 in the super nova tests as only a few pilots would be able to fly her and also if you could not have any emotion then in battle 21's would be falling out if the sky when a pilot felt fear or any emotion that breaks his/her concentration. I beleave that the 21 had to redesigned into the 22 to be a successful weapon for the UN Spacy. I just always got the impression from the first time I watched M+ that the 21 was the plane to beat and the 19 succeeded as the next gen fighter.
  15. Awesome work HWR the paint effect looks great, are you going to apply a dull coat to take the gloss of the tyres? Great work always look forward to seeing you work.
  16. Well I also thought that the YF-19 was a better aircraft once they found a pilot that could tame it, and flying upside down is not much of a trick it is 10 feet of the ground, but I always beleaved that M+ gave the impression that the 19 was a superior fighter.
  17. I am another that agrees that yamato should have a good look a thier pricing. If they become to much more expensive I just can't afford to purchase many of thier products and I imagine it's just not me. Bring back the 1/60 VF pricing and no more expensive than the 1/48 VF line. I for one would buy more if the price was a bit lower. Minmay Guard 1/48 would be nice. Please make two SDF1 in both DYRL and TV colours. I'd also like to see a VF-4 and most of all a VF-11. Thanks Graham.
  18. Great to see you back, I know how kids can take time away from building, since my son was born this year time is hard to spare. The bridge came up awesome, and the whole model is sweet, can't wait to get some more time to work on mine. Great work, I'm feeling very inspired to do some more work now.
  19. This is a hard poll, I was almost ready to put max as the Best Pilot however after careful thinking I choose Roy. I beleave that Max is an impressive pilot with natural talent but you can not dissmiss Roy as he was involved in the construction and testing of the VF's. Roy would have had the ability to feel and become part of his aircraft better than max as I can imagine the bad test planes before they got the VF right. Also Roy was also able to fly his missions destroy his targets and cover his less expirienced pilots. Max is an amazing pilot, that's for sure but he's a bit of a hot shot who seems less concerned about the other pilots around him. Leadership is one of the most important aspects when it comes to greatness and this is why I think Max proved himself more in M7 as he has more than himself to worry about. But the ability to be part of the design and testing would give any pilot greater skill with that machine, I'm sure Roy still new a few things about the VF's that know other pilot had at the time of space war 1. Maybe this is why Max is so great in M7 as he could have had imput into the design of the VF-22. And yes my fave pilot is Roy.
  20. Like to say thanks to Sumdumgai for that link to the CM's Isamu figure as I have been chasing one for a while now but didn't want to pay evilbay prices. Thanks Sumdumgai.
  21. Macross in anime but Battlestar Galactica 2004 needs to be there, that's my fav for now followed by stargate atlantis.
  22. Well I'd go for the VF-4 and I'd be in for two or three VF-2ss. The VF-2 just looks great as a successor to the VF-1 and the sap armor is awesome and would look great next to a VF-1 with strike packs IMO.
  23. I'll have to see what they give us in OZ but I'm sure we won't get a selection like you guys in the states. We will probably get a standard DVD with a little extra but I'd be supprised to see a selection like that, and the market would not warrant such a choice 20 million people in Oz compared to how many U.S citizens.
