  1. M.A.N.T.I.S. had such promise. Much like the first- err, good season of seaQuest.
  2. Why will you have to mod the engine?
  3. ID4 was, at the time, a stupid popcorn flick. I haven't watched it in years so I have no idea how much my nostalgia filter is skewing that perspective. Also? Will Smith had one of the best one-liners in cinema history: *bam* "Welcome to Earth!"
  4. It's here! It's here! It's mine, all mine! Mi-... it's in a billion pieces?! Seriously, thing is enourmously cool Just the size of it alone makes me giddy. The downside is that due to Real Life TM issues, I no longer have the money to buy an airbrush, compressor, and whatnot, so Imma gonna try something different. I'm going to try giving it a white and grey paintjob, in a "just off the factory" deal. Will prolly fail miserably, but it's gotta be better than the shade of yellow the plastic is moulded in.
  5. *muttermutter*shaddup*muttermutter*
  6. *sniff* I'm still waiting for mine! Why must CanadaPost hate me so?!
  7. You wouldn't believe the amount of flak being directed at this show for daring to cast Julia Anderson in a role. Personally I'm liking her character so far, especially after she put Eli and GateBoy in their places. "I can and will kick your asses." That being said... Pfwa... er... s-she has eyes? As said before, that'd ruin his character. I love how Colonel Young is learning to trust him to do his job, but is still on the lookout for the backstabbing knife and the other shoe to drop. Also, I have to give props to MSgt. Greer. I didn't think much of him before this episode, but he's rapidly moving up in my eyes. I'm about this close to making him my favourite character after Young. As for the plot being predicatble, well... not everyone can be as Genre Savvy as we are
  8. Augh! *dresses in Class V biohazard gear* Burn him! Burn him with FIRE!
  9. *glues fingers together* Dammit! *pulls fingers apart* Ow! *skips a step in the instructions* Dammit! *pries assemblies apart* Grr! *spends hours sanding seams* Damm-zzzzzz *sands too much off and re-puttys* Dammit! *airbrushes on fingers* Dammit! *scrubs clean* Grr. *posts completed pictures on MW* Woo-hoo! *is shamed next to WM Cheng's masterpieces* Dammit! Hobby is fun. Hobby is fun. Hobby is fun. Hobby is fun...
  10. Kino webisodes are up on stargate.mgm.com. Amusement has by (almost) all
  11. I have a new guilty pleasure: Defying Gravity. A show that's developed an absurd amount of hate from forums like IMDB and Television Without Pity, yet I find rediculously entertaining. Which just about garuntee's its cancelation...
  12. I s'pose this would be a bad time to point out that I didn't enjoy the A-Team TV series at all, wouldn't it?
  13. I'm really enjoying how serialized the show is. If there's anything I enjoy, it's being able to go back to previous episodes and seeing the groundwork and little scenes that take one greater meaning as the seasons go on
  14. Word. QFT. FTW. There aren't enough words and phrases to say how much I agree with this statement. Now for a show of hands: how many people were impressed with the aerobreaking manouver in 1x04? *raises hand* I was.
  15. What's this Star Trek III you speak of? There are no odd-numbered Star Trek films.
  16. Not an accountant, but I am in manufacturing and I can tell you that making the Scott and Rand-type Cyclones as the first two is the only combination that makes sense. The amount of design, tooling, and effort that goes into any product (let alone one this complex and fiddly) is utterly astounding. Because the Rand and Scott-type Cyclones are literally a paint job and a forearm plate change away from each other, that makes it's remarkably easy (and cheap) to produce both toys for only a little extra cost than it would to design new moulds, new assembly jigs and whatnot for a totally brand-new design like the VR-038 and -041 types.
  17. Science fact tears of manliness: When Pluto was demoted to non-planet status.
  18. Beast Wars: Code of Hero. Dinobot FTW!
  19. That was also using the Earth Gate, with it's McGuyvered human kinda-sorta-maybe-DHD which had none of the nifty safeguards that the real Ancient gate/DHD combos come with.
  20. Mod schmod. Wait for Captain A to start churning out accessory kits for this beast and all will be good
  21. I like that "slice of life" aspect so far. Reminds me of Robinson Crusoe and Castaway, where the goal is just survival and less Big Bads and their Dragons.
  22. Which part of Canada? So I can know which postal office to knock over to get *ahem* my YF-19
  23. About how long does HLJ usually take to ship things? I sent my payment to them on 6 October and their website says my order is still 'processing to be shipped' and it's been like that since then. Any idea how much longer before the package actually leaves their warehouse?
  24. Exactly. Even though the end of this episode didn't have any galaxy-saving heroics or dead alien Big Bads, just the look on Ming-Na's face made the entire enterprise worth it. Small victories, but much more enjoyable.
