  1. I'm not liking those designs very much.
  2. My main problem with the Gigantic additions is that it makes the story even more into a monster-of-the-week plot. What's next? Ultra-Mega-Humungous-Gigantic Guyver?
  3. Detonator Orgun had some nifty fleet battles.
  4. I'd buy that for a dollar! Actually, I'd buy that for many dollars, come to think of it...
  5. I enjoyed the first season of the TV series. The second wasn't nearly as good, but the first had some good moments.
  6. If you know what you're doing and have sufficent motivation, it's possible to design and build a car in just a few weeks. I'll admit that doing that for a space-worthy craft is a bit of a stretch, but not so much. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutly. Adama and Rosilyn have been keeping the other in check. He has to make compromises to get along with her, and she has to do the same. Admiral Cain hasn't. Over the last year and half she's had her complete control and nobody has been around to step in and stop her. Maybe she cracked psychologically because of the Cylon assault, or maybe she was always this sadistic and the Fleet Command kept her in line. Either way, now that she's had aboslurme power over the people under her command, it's corrupted her absolutly.
  7. That's what I love about DS9: They weren't afraid to not pull their punches. Just look at any episode with Garak in it and you'll see. Especially look out for In The Pale Moonlight to see just how dark and dismal DS9 could get. On the other hand, when DS9 wanted to be funny, it was downright hysterical. Just look at Trials and Tribble-ations for proof of that. And they always had witty, snappy writing that all of the other shows simply lacked. The Dominion War really shook up the Federation and reminded them that they weren't the be-all and end-all of the galaxy and brought some space-opera back into the mix instead of dry treknobabble
  8. Beast doesn't look nearly built or muscluar enough for the role.
  9. It's funny, but it wasn't until I reread this quote and went back and watched some episodes that I realized just how much I enjoyed that aspect of the show. That's another thing that grounded Sisko in reality as a person and a character, in addition to making some very good TV.
  10. I think Sisko is my favourite captain if only because he was the most human and realistic character. Kirk leading the away parties always rubbed me the wrong way. Picard was perfect to a fault. Janeway was decent, but the writers didn't really know where to take her. Sisko got mad, violent, insolent, funny, serious, light-hearted, and commanding; something of a feat for a Star Trek character to have that well-rounded a personality. The fact that he sounded something like Darth Vader also helped a bit
  11. "Broke into the wrong goddamned rec room didn't you, you bastard!"
  12. I stopped really enjoying Eva around episode 18 or so. That's when it lost the light-hearted humour that did a great job of balancing out the heavy-handed drama.
  13. This new anime follows the manga very closely, almost verbatim. The new show does put in a few twists here and there, but nothing major and nothing long-lasting. The animtion is pretty decent given that it's a 2005 show but the music doesn't really do much for me. Just rather blah in that department.
  14. I'd say go with the newer, shorter legs. Especially in that first comparison pic, her original legs just looked too long for her torso. They looked like someone stretched her out on a rack or something.
  15. I'm watching it and finding myself strangely prefering the original anime. The battles in the original are far more dramatic and involving, especially Guyver I vs Enzyme. I was very disappointed by the new anime in that respect. Otherwise, the plot and pacing is better than the original, and the animation is generally better (though lacking in a few places).
  16. Jake Lloyd. Denise Richards. Sylvester Stallone (with the sole exception of Demolition Man)
  17. That alone makes it better than any other Cyclone models I've seen
  18. Dammit, where is that drooling smiley when I really need it? Always looking forward to your amazing stuff, Mike. Baited breath and all.
  19. That's why the mold techs use a paste of diamond dust to polish those molds very smoothly.
  20. The crane was to prove that Fish was the guy that had found the Mob turncoat. He mailed the package of pictures and information in a large envelope that had a paper crane in it. When he got into Fox Prison (very apt name, that), he gave a paper crane to the Head Mob Guy, to prove that Fish had the evidence that the Mob was looking for, and that it would be in HMGs best interests to help Fish do his thing. And yeah, that tattoo rocks. Very ingenious
  21. I have to admit, the lack of the RT music is why I can't stand watching the original Mospeada. I find that RTs BGMs were just that much better. This is true for all of the books. Whatever bad things you might say about the novels (most of them are well-deserved), the way the books got into the character's heads and made the story personable is one of the best things that they ever did. It made for a much more engaging story than was on the screen.
  22. Not to mention nausia, dizziness, and possible pre- and post-cognitive hallucinations
  23. Has this show been released yet or what?
  24. I have to admit, the MGS story has taken a real turn for the worse when they started in on that hand-over-body bit. Especially once I got suckered by Splinter Cell and it's much more reality-based story. But I dig the idea about the Big Boss clones. That was cool.
