The Toynami Superposeable figures are based on these kits. The resin kits were @ $35.00 USD. The figure is a cheaper sustitute if you can't find the resin.

Hikaru in the dimmly lit area with illuminated shoulder pads is one of the theories. The other is the color of the other CF pilots in the opening of DYRL.

Figures are the same for both "21" & "500" piece, but the first batch came with a blue sticker for Hikaru & red sticker for Minmay, later 500 piece sets came both with "red" stickers & no way to distinguish by looking at the box what is inside, Hikaru or Minmay.

Yes yamato made the helmets. I believe, from what i recall from XStoys, that the shoulder pads are a co-op with Dengeki. Yamato jsut gave the ok and dengeki made them. Yes I believe teh helmets are in the 1K range US dollars. and with shoulders it is 1.8k? Don't forget to mention that shipping to the U.S is not even included... -Kevin Ugggghhhhhh ... that's something I'd rather not discuss.

Oooh I want one of those. Good luck in trying to find one. That is a very rare 2002 WF Minmay resin kit & if memory serves me correctly, there are probably less than 10 made. (I personally know where 2 of them are... )

This is a question for Shanghai based MW member "Sebastian" ... chime in here anytime.

There is no 1/55 Takatoku or Bandai VF-1J GBP Gift set. The only 1/55 GBP giftset was the VF-1S with the grey VF-1S valkyrie. The VF-1J only came individually without the GBP armor. Some people sell package sets on ebay, but usually show the valkyrie boxed seperately & the GBP armor packaged seperately. What you may have seen was either a custom or the 1/76 scale Max or Hikaru VF-1J with GBP armor. Takatoku did make the 1/76 scale Hikaru & Max VF-1J models packaged with only frontal clip on GBP armor, nothing like the 1/55 versions. Not a great toy & non-transformable.

I have this movie & I really enjoyed it. Though some of the special FX seem "over the top" (but then again, look at "The Matrix"), I rather enjoyed seeing some hot chicks kick butt. Basic story is about 2 sisters who are paid to plant high tech viruses in big corporations. One sister dies & the younger sister must carry on with the job. The female cop who starts out chasing the sisters, eventually allies with the younger surviving sister to finish the job. Hsu Qi (kidanapped girl from "The Transporter") plays the older sister, Zhao Wei (a very hot Chinese actress in Asia, right now) plays the younger sister, & Karen Mok (HK movie/singing vetran) plays the cop. If you liked Charlie Angels, you'll probably like this movie.

Hey, I 'm also an industrial designer, and I teach product/toy design part-time at a private college in Pasadena, CA called the Art Center College of Design. I've thought about making my students design & build me a valkyrie, but decided against it. I thought some one at the school may have caught on that I doing it for my own selfish reasons; so I make them design & build "Transformers" instead. It's still somewhat linked to my hobby, but not exactly, & not as obvious. Welcome aboard!

I am 100% sure they did not come with diecast nosecones. Perhaps the metal landing gear leads one to believe the nosecone may also contain diecast metal too. But not one of my Takatoku or Bandai 1/55s have a diecast nosecone.

Aren't you going to offer a trade for it??? (J/K) Ok, seriously... so far Japan & HK released this figure at the end of April; so it is "new." It stands 6" - 7" tall; so it's basically 1/12 scale. The sculpt is taken directly from the original 1/12 Max Factory vinyl kit of Guyver III, but now modified to have joints to be an action figure. The bad thing about this toy is that it is a bit pricy ... @ $50 - $60 USD. Pretty expensive for an action-figure.

Sorry to tell you that the JM's for the Max VF-1A & Hikaru VF-1A only came in Japanese Bandai release packagings & are definitely the more sought after ones. The other 3 were also available in Japanese Bandai packagings, as well as the American & Canadian Matchbox "Robotech" packaging.
