  1. mmmm, I can´t see the images, can someone email them to me please? jelpspeed@hotmail.com thanks
  2. Hi again got any pictures of the alien?? is it the alien queen?
  3. I´ll try to answer most of the posts: I think there is a forum about all this topics, here is a link for a good method (already posted in this message) to make molds. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41 Its a large model!! it measures 44.8cms about 17.5inches, and complete with a base will be like 20" long, you´ll need a nice display rack. Yes, the intake looks like square edged, but has a little curve, I think its the picture that makes it look like that, I´ll try to take another one soon. that piece is already molded and casted. Thanks for your comments, it helps us a lot to see mistakes in the Vf. Thanks for your comment, i like your model, is it the same scale?, I wish I could have access to a CNC router to make my models it would be easier and faster for me, but I can´t, so I´m using my hands and my skills to build one you are certainly right, there is no point of comparison, a machine can make a complete model in 1 or 2 days, it´s only modelling and programming in a computer, it´s completely different to make a model by hand. 3 years ago I had access to a CNC in another college where I was working, there I finished 4 1:12 scale models in about a month (most of the parts) that was nice!, but I still prefer to make them by hand, i feel like really creating and sculpting something mine, it´s a great feeling! and definitely the CNC router doesn´t have the feeling and skill to make something like this: I´m not against a little help by CNC, because a wheel like this will take weeks to be done without a CNC, the hand method It´s harder, takes a LOT more time, but gives you a really great sensation. Well thanks to everyone for your support, I´ll post some new pictures on sunday.
  4. Hi THOR Do you use Autocad or solidworks to make your 3d models? I used to know how to use those programs, but haven´t used them for years. Any advances in you Spartan? we would like to see more pictures of it see you
  5. Hi rnurmin It´s a scholar project, it´s their homework , and the models are owned by my students, one of them offered his model to me when it´s completely finished to recover some of the money invested in the project. but I dont have the cash neither the room to have one of those in my house or office. ITS DAMN HUGE!! the pictures don´t show the actual magnitude of the model, It´s impresive how it looks if you are standing near to it.
  6. Hi to everybody. Today I uploaded more images of the scale model, as you can see in the pictures we have lots of resin parts of the model, we´ve completed about 40% of the molds and keep up working to finish the model in 2 weeks. We used the Fulcys method to cast the parts and it worked great, we are using another brand and type of resin and it gives better results, the only bad thing is that it costs 10 times more than common resin . We measured the complete model and its 44.8cms (17 1/2 inches), so I think the scale is right. You can compare the model with my Palm to see the size of it. Please comment about this pictures MORE PICTURES
  7. Hi Peter yes, I´m building it, it´s almost done. i think 90% hope to finish it in 2 weeks max. Thanks
  8. thanks for your support I don´t understand your question (Are you reference Design Works for this?) my english is not as perfect as yours , can you explain it to me? thanks
  9. It´s not fully transformable, but has variable angle wings and some of the "hatch doors?" also open to reveal some details.
  10. Hi, unfortunately the models wont be ready for your convention, they want to give as much detail to the model as they can, and it will take more than 2 weeks. Yes EXO, you can see 2 of the models in some of the pictures, they plan to build 1 valk. for each one of them. each model weights about 5 to 8KG (10-16lbs) depending on the construction (2 or 3 layers of fiberglass, etc.). keep on posting and giving support to them. Thanks
  11. Give all the credit to my 5 students I didn´t touch the plane, it´s their project, "their little homework" They deserve all the credit for this really great model. Where is the macross con? Maybe they can show it there. Best regards. Ever Lopez
  12. Hi to everybody. Do you remember the college project I exposed here in the forum? the macross 1:10 scale Vf1 Macross Vf1 Scale model Topic Now I have the pictures to show all of you some advance on this assignment. The project is 70% done, there are still some pieces that need to be built, some pieces need to be sanded and polished, but in this pictures you can see the results at this moment. I have to say that my students doesn´t have access to hi-tec tools like CNC or something like that for this project, this is a 100% handmade model, the only tools allowed and used are: a cutter, sandpaper, Bondo, putty, Styrene, RTV silicon and fiberglass for the molds, and fiberglass for the pieces, It´s a really hard job, they need to invest lot of time making this model, If you like it or have any comments, please email me your comments and suggestions, I´ll forward to them, because right now they need a lot of support to finish the model. Thanks. IMAGE GALLERY CLICK HERE
  13. by the way, we used the Fulcy´s method and it worked great, it copied all the bolts of the wings, and every detail, and most important the mold was fully loaded with resin. thanks for the tip
  14. hi to everyone. Sorry for the delay on the posts, but right now we are making the final exams and had a lot of things to do, I wish the day could have 4 hours more! We had a guy who make all the molds for our models, he also made all the casts and everything, but he´s not with us anymores, he left to pursuit the "american dream", he is probably working in texas or california, but that´s his story. So right now we are trying to make all the molds by ourselves to start casting the model completely. But we don´t have the experience he has, and we are making a lot of mistakes. We´ve made 50% of the molds (the easy ones) , but we are facing a little problems to make some parts of it, the Fulcy´s guide is great, but it only explains 2 part molds. we have parts, like the legs (engines) that require maybe a 3 or 4 part molds, and don´t know where to make the "separation" for those parts, or a good method to make a "more than 2 parts mold" if you have some advices or pictures you can give to us, it would be great. Here I´m posting some pictures of the engine, this is one of the parts I need some help. Here is a picture of my workshop, there is the body for a 1/4 scale ferrari F-1 that I´m building parallel to this project, sorry for the mess, but I don´t have too much time to clean it, but even if I have it, I would use it to make models see you guys, hope you answer soon.
