  1. I've always been amazed that they can actually fit ammo for the Gattling guns in the head. actually I think I started at like episode 3 or something, finished maybe 2 or 3 and decided it wasn't worth trying to keep up with.
  2. I think training loads and oversight are the best explanations for the scene.
  3. not safe for work...
  4. It's more that I don't like handling them in general. the legs constantly fell off in fighter/Gerwalk mode with mine and I was always loosing small parts. (alternate canopy, that stupid plug in the nose, all the screw covers). also, my VF-1J millia v.1 was the only valk I've ever owned from any manufacture (even including the multiple 1 dollar chunky bootlegs) that has had it's landing gear break.
  5. no, it's just ugly, and some people don't want to spend a hundred dollars plus on ugly. of all my Yamato's, the only ones I've ever felt uncomfortable transforming were the old v.1 1/60's. even my old 1/72 VF-19A is still in one piece even if it is floppy.
  6. oddly enough both of these thoughts crossed my mind. I was either thinking PPB contained plasma jet (inspired by the energy sword from halo) I think I'm leaning towards the leg mounted sheath since it takes the least amount of explaining to do.
  7. pansy . it's not that hard, just fiddle with it a little and it slides just fine.
  8. thank you, and as for the ADF-01 from ace combat... well the ADF-01F had a much smaller fin, and it improved maneuverability being awesome looking. I'm still torn on how I could possibly fit a sword on my VF-400 and make it work... (if it's a beam saber I could just tuck it into the shoulder no problem, but I dont want to go that rout, I have no idea where to stick a full size metal sword though)
  9. maybe Hikaru is just that bad of a shot that every round he fired missed hitting the Zent pilot in a vital spot.
  10. more like CRY MANLY TEARS
  11. I'd just like to say this once again a little louder: THE GU-11'S RATE OF FIRE IS 1,200 ROUNDS PER MINUTE that is the official number, so that's how fast it fires. 1200rpm is slow for a gatling type gun (even with only 3 barrels) in fact it's slower than many single barrel guns, (the BK-27 is around 1,700rpm and the GSh-30-1 is 1,500~1,700rpm) except that the T-80 is hardly the poster child for soviet tank's especially ones that have been largely exported. if you had said T-72 not only would you have been factually acurate, you'd also had made your point better since the T-72 is THE definitive russian tank. a human head is hardly a good measuring block as to how effective something is at penatrating armor. basically the 20mm round sucks, especially the PGU-28/B round they're currently using. even with the faster PGU-28 the balistic characteristics on the 20mm round are crap not to mention a high instance of catastrophic gun destroying premature detonations. the only good thing about the 20mm round is that you can carry an ass load of it on a plane. (an SU-27 with a GSh-30-1 carries 150 30mm rounds, the F-15 with an M61A1 carries 940 rounds). it's sort of like the F-86 with 6 .50 calibers vs the Mig-15 with 2 23mm and 1 37mm. the F-86 had a lot more ammo and threw out a lot more lead, but the Mig only needed a to make 2-3 hits with those big cannons to take an American jet down the very nature of shooting a tank from the air results in the plane shooting the weekest part of the tank (top side). and I'd like to say welcome to MW as well, never take anything schizo says too seriously, he has a tendency to argue points to the grave. (for proof go look several pages back for the valk design thread)
  12. SEED sucked, I probably didn't make it to that point in the show.
  13. Thanks all for the positive comments, with this I was going for a feminine look but I wanted it to be so without being kind of forced like the MAXL custom. I wanted it to look like a woman while still being plausible as a regular combat valk design. the shield does look like some sort of swimsuit, but I based it off the MAXL customs shield so blame SK! the Feet and legs are based heavily on Nobel Gundam, which recently (along with the rest of G gundam) has become one of my favorite gundam designs. (for the longest time I hated G Gundam, but now I love it.) I'm actually working on some really Mortar-Headd style valks as well, which leads to the question on swards. I want to do Valks that look like Knights that turn into jets (they're bad guys, if SK can get away with what he did with the Varauta, I can do that for my bad guys). But they have big ass melee weapons since they look like knights, cause thats just something I've wanted to do for a while. I ask about beam sabers because I'm looking for a way to retrofit a bigger blade weapon onto a valk so that it can counter the swards the bad guy uses. just a handle makes it easier to store on a valk not designed to carry a sword.
  14. Gundam came before macross and Gundam has had head guns since the start, but Macross Head lasers are infinitely cooler. The head guns in Gundam are almost ALWAYS fixed Gatling guns as apposed to the awesome independently targeted missile shooting laser goodness of Macross.
  15. you know, the VF-25's always looked rather large on the deck of the Quarter. I could actually see them molding very tiny aircraft. the trick would be coloring them. maybe they'll end up like an old 80's toy where the valks come unpainted and still on the sprue.
  16. it was really cool, they show it off in SK design works (the newer one that has his Aquarion and Eureka 7 stuff.) it's just their to make Americans jealous of how awesome Japanese stuff is. (it's a full color glossy page devoted to it)
  17. I'd prefer the VF-27 and a VF-4, but to each their own. I'm still not super into the VF100 line as a whole, but It's deffinatly a cheaper alternative to the DX's which are definitely not worth the money. I'd much rather see the 1/72 Vajra make it to production than a 1/100. has their been any news on that red Vajra prototype they showed many moons ago?
  18. and you know that the VF-19/VF-22 are inherently more resistant to G loads how?
  19. I think it's kind of an inverse situation. the game has generated enough hype that lots of people want to play the demo to check the game out. the hope is that the compulsion to play the demo NOW will be strong enough to encourage people to go out and buy live... which they should as for the demo, it sucks fairly hard. the ability to do things like cobra maneuvers and other good stuff like that is great but ruined by the fact that you can't execute such moves with limiter on, and in limiter off mode it's absolutely impossible to control the plane. Why did they use that stupid camera mode?!? it's not just that it's zoomed out but that it's locked to the target you're tracking so every time you try to maneuver the orientation of your controls changes. that ERS thing is real good to. I tried using it against ground targets twice and each time it aimed me right into a building... real useful. maybe they'll fix a few things before launch but I doubt it.
  20. 55mm is in the range of Anti-Aircraft auto cannons (40mm bofors being a prime example) or even light field guns a discussion of the largest guns mounted on airplanes http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/weapons/q0174.shtml
  21. I think the 3 in the background are Papercraft models. the 2 up front look like the bandai MG kits.
  22. like I said, seen the manga way more recently than the ova, and their is lots of rape in the manga. I got a copy of the OVA that I need to watch though.
  23. well, I should point out that the Manga is one with all the rape. I haven't watched the OVA in a while but I think they cut out a lot of the depicted rape and made it a lot less sucky, but I'm being 100% honest about the Manga at any rate.
