  1. I don't really care since I don't even like starwars. and Halo beats a lot of things, it almost beats the real moon. and then there's the ark...
  2. In my high school physics class while talking about time dilation and such and decided that with FTL travel the two most likely ways to make it work are A. you bend space so that point A is now closer to Point B (kind of like how the space fold seemed to work in SDF:M) or that there's a dimension outside our own where the speed of light is greater to the point that you can travel faster than what we know as the speed of light and still not be even approaching relativistic speeds.
  3. the real gears are small, but the toy ones still look a little dinky, not as bad as the DX but still not great. I'm more worried about whether the rear gears will lock in the down position, I really hate how the YF-21's rear gears tend to collapse if you try to role it backwards. I think the length of the bay is making the size of the landing gear look worse than it is. looking at the line art, it seems like it should be shorter. I think they should have connected the gears closer to the front door and reduced the length of the rear door. (they might have had room for more tail fin that way. you know, I've never seen line art of the YF-19's landing Gear. the only line art I can find is for the VF-19 fire valk.
  4. the TV VF-1A brownie is identical to the TV 1J brownie except for a head. the difference between the TV 1A brownie and the DYRL? 1A brownie are a different head, different forearms and the color is slightly different. also the the TV and DYRL? valks have different style fixed pose hands and different style pilots. I think they should do the cannon fodders as a TV version and a DYRL? version. the DYRL? would be the 1A with DYRL? accurate head, arms, color and accessories. the TV version should have all the right TV stuff and come with both 1A and 1J heads.
  5. the 120km for the first death star and 160km for the death star 2 are also "official." nobody knows how big they really are just like nobody knows how big the original Galactica is because there are no definitive published numbers and there really isn't any good way to accurately calculate scale. basically George Lucas doesn't give a crap enough to actually give a definitive answer so we'll never know. and in any case the Fulbtzs Berrentzs is still bigger so also the Dyson Sphere in star trek was 200 million km in diameter. Dyson's original design had a 1AU radius but it wasn't a solid sphere, rather it was a dence network of independent solar collector satellites. Ringworld is just a hair under 300 million km in diameter.
  6. you make a mounting bracket that has a VF-27 gunpod handle on one end and a socket in the shape of the mounting point on the VF-25. or maybe they DO have the same style handles and they ARE interchangeable
  7. well then it depends on how fast the bullets of a GU-17 gunpod are then doesn't it? if the rounds are in the 1,000m/s muzzle velocity range, the Mach 9+ VF-27 could probably catch up to it and hit it. if the round is in the 3,000m/s muzzle velocity range (that's a little over Mach 10 at 10,000 meters) I wouldn't be so sure, I have a feeling the round will hit the ground before it slows down to a low enough velocity to damage the VF-27
  8. she doesn't, it's from the album art for the lion single she's cute, but I still think Adella is by far the best sheryl ever.
  9. that gets me thinking, if/when they do the CF 1A will it be a DYRL? brownie or a TV brownie? (they'll probably do both )
  10. because they make more money if you have to buy two toys to get both heads?
  11. I love the VF-3000; VF-3000 > VF-5000
  12. oh my god, I had totally forgotten about this show. thanks for posting that.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1WL3CRYh0k
  14. the death star is officially 120 km. the Death star II is officialy 160km but may very well be 250 or so I wonder if anyone has bothered to figure out how big Ingues' mothership actually was? the chart I linked uses the 50km RPG size which is way to small. the center red eye alone has got to be at least 50km across
  15. I know we're totaly derailed at this point but I'd just like to (re)post this. http://www.merzo.net/ coolest Starship/general comparison chart ever, (note: you can only drag images around by opening the page in IE)
  16. Last thing graham said about a Yamato VF-4 was that it isn't happening and that it's probably never going to happen. the only VF-4 we'll ever get from them is a little 1/200th scale and that's it.
  17. that's it? I was expecting something a little more imposing. he looks like frenzy if he fell into a tub full of Doritos. I'm sad that all the new designes suck so far. I actually liked the design's from the first film. I'm still hopeful that Jetfire will look good
  18. wait just a second. when did the YF/VF-24 get a name? This is the first time I've seen it called VF-24 Evolution anywhere.
  19. the little one? that's the Macross Quarter. http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macrossf/macross-quarter.htm
  20. I did not write that sadly, I first came across it on another forum where it was posted after someone posted this picture. http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f252/Can...SW/Imperium.png
  21. how about not... this isn't star wars. one of the things I like about macross is the fact that ships a only built big enough to get the job they are tasked with done.
  22. how the F*ck is it that I'm being a bigot just because I don't think it's a wonderful amazing thing that a single small country in the middle east has Ludicrously disproportional amount of wealth gained almost exlusively from the monopolistic control of a single industry. If they were to do this kind of thing because they have a strong diversified economy supported by a thriving middle class like the rest of the developed world, I'd be fine with it. but what the UAE is doing is essentially indulging the whims of the super-rich Upper class that dominates their society so that they can attract the money of even more ultra-wealthy people. the fact that the UAE has the money to build a f*cking Indoor ski slope in the desert does not reflect anything about the progress of the regions economic state, It represents the very reason why the middle east is such a destabilized region of the world. it's because a tiny Portion of the regions population controls virtually all the wealth while majority of the population lives in abject poverty because the only major industry is oil.
  23. I like the skinny legs. I prefer the toy over the animation overall actually.
  24. yep, these people have WAY to much money for there own good.
