  1. at the end you get sent into this destroyed city with a crashed zentradi ship in the center to kill this guy (some rough zentradi commander or something). you make your way towards the ship and then the ship along with the whole city fold out into deep space so you have a weird combination urban/space battle against him in a booster equipped glog. after you beat him you go to a cutseen where you're floating out in space and Jack is getting all introspective and crap and traces the Spacy kite in the fog on his canopy as he's about to run out of air. I have no idea why I remember how it ends considering I haven't played the end of the game in some 4~5 years.
  2. what would be really cool would be 2 macross quarters, in attack mode, attached to the SDF-1 in place of the ARMD's.
  3. well, if you're on the ship, and you turn on the headlights at .5xspeed of light, you observe the light moving away from you at the speed of light, just like when you dive a car at 50 mph and you throw a baseball at 50 mph the ball moves away from you at 50mph. but for an outside observer, the light from the ship is still only going at the speed of light while the ship is moving half the speed of light. with the car going 50, the ball thrown at 50mph appears to be going 100mph to an outside observer. oh the joys of relativistic speed.
  4. I'm going to go with something a little left field and say Big O. who doesn't love nice suits and film noir?
  5. it was fun in versus mode, (YF-1R+Fast packs agains an armored VF-1D is just hilarious.) anyways, I think the YF-1R would have been considerably cooler if rather than giving it a purple turd version of the M&M style paint scheme, the had use the Jack archer scheme from the game.
  6. actually light doesn't work that way, if you were in a rocket and turn the headlights on, the light from them would travel at the same speed whether you were going 10mph or half the speed of light. but slower stuff like bullets do work that way.
  7. O.O Klan looks awesome. I'm finally glad I pre-ordered here from overdrive ($80 was a lot to shell out up front). the Sheryl fig looks good too but i Think I'll wait for a Megahouse version.
  8. wow, that's even more confusing. if there not all "macross 5" and they're not numbered, what the heck are they? Big ass ship A and Big Ass Ship B?
  9. that kind of misses my point though. I haven't really bothered to read up on all the naming off all the different colony classes, so when I say NMC I'm talking about anything with a battle carrier connected to it. (seperating the Island from city fleets just makes things more confusing since it does nothing to address things like the Galaxy which is referred to as Island within the show even though it uses a completely unique setup, or the 11 which appears to be some sort of hybrid fleet.) anyways I wasn't sepperating out the Islands from cities because my point is about the Battle sections anyways. what I'm taking about is that based on what we've seen, all battle sections have been numbered in secession whether they hook up to a NMC or an Island or something else. now, if some fleets like the macross 5 have more than multiple NMC's with Multiple battle sections, how does that effect the numbering? were they all named Macross 5, and there are actually 3 Battle 5's and 3 city 5's? were the extra ships not numbered? Maybe the Macross 5 fleet actually consisted of NMC 4, 5 and 6; so does that mean that there were No Macross 4 or 6 fleets, thus meaning that there were less than 25 SLRE's? Or maybe the Macross 5 fleet was actually the Macross fleets 4, 5, and 6 sailing together with Macross 5 acting as the lead. the way they number it just makes it seem like they need to have 1 and only 1 battle carrier for every fleet, and the battle carriers are used ONLY for fleets.
  10. the M3 VF-14 is awesome. way better looking than anything in MacII. the SV-51 is ugly, but ugly in a cool way. It's got that industrial, form-over-function function-over-form kind of ugly that makes most Russian fighters cool.
  11. you have to upload you're pics off site. go to I go to a site like photobucket or Imageshack (I use photobucket), set up an account (their free and easy enough to do), then upload you're photo. then you can copy the image tag ( looks like: url goes here[ /img] ) and paste it into the page for a full size image.
  12. since where suposedly talking about Macross Fleets, I'm going to throw this out here... when about was the Macross Frontier launched? maybe more fleets were launched after the Frontier. something I was just thinking though, there are 55 Long Distance Fleets, and as of when frontier was launched there were 25 NMC's but does that really mean that there were 25 NMC fleets and 30 Megaroad fleets? I was looking at the M3 and noticed that in the Macross 5 entry it mentions that the Macross 5 fleet had 2 additional NMC's as part of the fleet. and to me it's never been clear if the Macross 13 really was part of a colonization fleet and not just a battleship. if the frontier was the 25th fleet, does that mean that the Macross 5 was really 3 fleets together, or were the extra ships just not numbered (then what do you call them?) or maybe the Frontier wasn't the 25th fleet, just the 25th ship and there were enough Megaroads to make it reach 55? I am so confused right now
  13. you'll see... Anyways I wanted to say good job on your drawing, I should have scanned the doodles too, there fun to see. If I could make a suggestion though, I think you should try to work in a larger intake. as it is you've got a very small intake and a large looking exhaust; as a rule of thumb, you want the intake and exhaust to be roughly the same size.
  14. and the Cobra Spike: ________________________________________________________________________________ VF-400 Lazarus AAP-04/RQ “Cobra Spike Technical Data Equipment type: Airframe augmentation system for AWACS/ELINT use. AAP-04/RQ “Cobra Spike” pack with APS-501 radar (dorsal radome), ELINT Fin and long range communications/surveillance package (left nacelle/arm), fold space communication relay launcher (right nacelle, replaces micro-missile launcher) -Armament- Guns: · 1 x Mauler RÖV-20C 20mm beam gun (head mounted) · 1 x Sentinal HBC/HS-60B 60mm Heavy Beam Cannon · 1 x Retractable anti-armor blade (mounted in right arm) Bombs/Missiles: · 8 x AIM-255 semi-recessed long range High maneuverability missiles (legs and central fuselage) · 4 x outer wing hard points · 2 x inner wing hard points (wet) Optional Armament: · 1 x Howard GU-17A 58mm gunpod -Description and history- The primary Goals of Project Quasar with respect to the VF-400 Lazarus was to produce a high performance variable Fighter that would also be capable of filling multiple roles more readily than previous generation fighters. As such, Shinsei Industries has designed and produced a series of component packages that, thanks to the modular nature of the VF-400 allow the airframe to be readily converted from one form to another. These systems, referred to as Airframe Augmentation Packages (AAP), consist of replacement Upper nacelle and outer wing assemblies that allow for greater specialization and improved performance under specific conditions. The AAP-04/RQ package (Nicknamed “Cobra Spike” when equipped) is designed to convert the VF-400 from an Aerospace dominance Fighter to a Forward deployed AWACS/ELINT aircraft capable of providing extended sensor coverage and long range early warning for other aircraft while still retaining a sufficient level of defensive combat capability. As well as providing information to other manned fighters, the Cobra Spike is also capable of coordinating the attacks of up to 12 AI controlled Drones (though 4-6 is much more common) The Cobra Spike’s most notable feature is the Large dorsally mounted ASP-501 surveillance radar. The radome is supported by struts attached to the upper nacelles in place of the original vertical stabilizers, positioning the radar over the mecha’s head in battroid mode. The mecha is also equipped with a large ELINT fin and other Communications, thermal and fold space sensors. To accommodate these additional sensors the Left 60mm beam gun has been removed along with all four semi-recessed missiles on the arms and three of the 4 micro-missile launchers. The remaining launcher on the outside of the right shoulder has been modified to deploy communication relays and sensor buoys. Despite the reductions in the mecha’s offensive capabilities, the Cobra Spike still retains ample performance and armament in order to defend itself form most battlefield threats.
  15. and now for some stats to go with them: first the lightning bolt ____________________________________________________________________________ VF-400 Lazarus AAP-04/AF "Lightning bolt" Technical Data: Equipment type: Airframe augmentation system for atmospheric use. The AAP-04/AF unit is designed to optimize the basic VF-400 for atmospheric combat use. The AAP-04/AF’s (Nicknamed “Lightning bolt” when equipped) most notable features are its streamlined design and Massive engines. The engines, which are of the same make as the main thermonuclear turbines but fitted conventional exhaust nozzles, offer two advantages over the standard VF-400’s Rocket boosters. By switching to air breathing thermonuclear turbines the need for onboard propellants is essentially eliminated while in an atmosphere, thus improving range and available weapons load. The second advantage to the new engine arangment is an increase in thrust which, coupled with a sleeker low drag design, helps to offset the performance loss caused by the transition from space to air. Additional changes include the removal of vernier thrusters to reduce weight and surface drag and the replacement of the 2 arm mounted 60mm beam guns with 4 25mm conventional machine guns. Despite the smaller caliber, the 25mm round suffers less energy loss and accuracy degradation due to the atmosphere and allows for greater volumes of fire, thus making them more suited to atmospheric use. Alternatively the aircraft can be fitted with 2 conventional guns and 2 25mm beam guns, thus increasing ammunition longevity and improving combat capability in space. As a result, the lightning bolt remains space capable; but suffers from considerably reduced capability in space when compared to its standard counterpart. It should also be noted that in order to achieve the best aerodynamic profile the lightning bolt is almost never equipped with wing mounted weapons or gunpods, instead relying entirely on fixed and conformal weapons.
  16. this thread... IT LIVES!!! still no Gerwalk mode, I'm being lazy right now but I've at least decided on a pose and what not so I'll get on that sooner rather than later. for now I give you the first of a couple of fun things I came up with... earlier I mentioned that instead of conventional fast packs this thing was designed so that teh shoulders, arms, and wings could be removed and replaced. Here are the first two: the AAP-04/AF "Lightning Bolt" and the AAP-04/RQ "Cobra Spike" the nacelle, wing, and head on top are the lightning bolt parts which are atmospheric parts, and the bottom stuff is for the Cobra Spike which is a AWACS/ELINT valk. the Lightning bolt head is also the head for the standard VF-400A (the previous drawings are of the VF-400F), the Spike has it's own head.
  17. just freeks me out. God Damn O'Neill Cylinders, I'm getting vertigo just looking at the pictures. the Thought of looking up and seeing ground as if you were looking up at a massive mirror just freeks me out. I like the stanford torus a lot better. anyways, the only similarity between Gundam colonies and the Islands in Frontier are that they are cylindrical and have windows. the Frontier Islands work nothing like O'neill Cylinders or any other type of colonie used in any gundam show.
  18. If it were to come out on bluray, I'd get a player just for that. and now I've got Discovery playing in the background...
  19. If Matsumoto redid Star Wars as one giant music video for a Daft Punk album that would be AWESOME!!! (I'm not being sarcastic, Interstella 5555 is the coolest thing ever, and it's Interstella with an 'a')
  20. Boo (you did ask for it )
  21. not yet, I was going to scan and post a little update for the VF-400, then I was going to start sketching out a battroid. but just to make your head explode a little I'll leave you with this: VF-27MAXL
  22. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=153 mods, please lock this thread...T-T
  23. hell if I know, (and I'm Using VF-28 by the way )
  24. I didn't know they made this... I want one now.
  25. pete, please give this man back his account.
