how is wanting the figure to be like the show make someone a freak? I want to be able to display her in the black outfit she's got under the military thing. the faux military outfit looks goofy but the black outfit is

for the MR/D it flies the same way the RFV-25 flies. I like the standard MR even better with the Massive counter-weight above the plane.

as they said, Alpha x omega is a subsidiary of Megahouse. but that is for the 1/8 scale sheryl in her first concert outfit. this thread is for the Banpresto figures. also I say there is a strong possibility that with the megahouse sheryl, the military style coat will be removable and you'll have the skimpy black outfit underneath.

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
anime52k8 replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
was it a scratch build, thought it was a conversion of the VF-4 fighter resin kit that was shown in the previous months issue. as for the YF-19, it's a Battriod conversion of a Hase kit next to a standard hase kit in the same colors. -
Macross Frontier and prior Macross mysteries
anime52k8 replied to Syngyne's topic in Movies and TV Series
the point of showing Vajra popping up around earth and the Mac 11 fleet, was to express the point that Grace now controlled all the Vajra everywhere and could and was sending them wherever she wanted to take out Spacy. within the rest of the show, the Vajra are only described as being able to fold naturally and more efficiently because they don't have to navigate around fold faults. Basically they can get from point A to point B faster because they go through fold space in a strait line nonstop instead of having to take roundabout roots avoiding fold faults. much faster but not instantaneous. also, It's still possible that even though humans aren't fighting the Vajra, the improved space fold technology may still be forthcoming. the new fold drives run on fold quartz, and it's possible that by studying the Vajra peacefully (like they were trying to do 11 years prior) they might figure out how to make fold quartz artificially. and I don't see the improved fold technology eliminating the need for colony fleets. there may still be range limits to folds using the new systems. and a fleet has to know where it's going before it folds. It kind of seemed like the colonies operate by sending out scout parties to survey parts of space then fold the whole fleet there; they do this over and over until they find a planet that they can land on. -
how big is that in the book?

I think in the show they went back and forth between generic grey and color matched do to inconsistent animation. I'm not sure what it was officialy supposed to be, but the color matched looks cooler and it makes more business sense as people now have to by another Fast pack set for there M&M 1J's

maybe we're looking at this all wrong. Maybe Robotech DID come first. originally HG and Carl Macek came up with the idea for Robotech but then the Japanese used there advance technology to steal there ideas and then travel back in time so that they can release Macross and Mospeada to screw mecek and HG over and make tones of money off there hard work. and all of us have no idea that's how it is because SK and studio Nue went back in time and changed the past.
-
what if in the future when we have time travel HG Sent Agents (who were really unkillable cyborgs) back in time even further then that so that they could kill Shōji Kawamori's parents so that SK is never born and can never create Macross so that there will be only Robotech, thus giving them the power to rule the world and distroy humanity!

actually I was going off topic and talking about the Idol master figures shown on the web page. http://www.toyslogic.com/index.php?main_pa...41ilal9vhvvhe22 I want to like this figure, but the face just kills it. on another note, I love the little chara fortune figures.

I think they can make cast off work without too much in the way of design compromises. it looks like if it does come off, the head comes off with the seem hidden by the collar. the lower leg at the boots come off to get the pants off. and it looks like the sleeves are separated at the shoulder. to make the arm look right they would need to seperate the arm mid bicep so that they can hide the seem with the arm bands from the under costume.

I think the coloring looks pretty good on the klan and ranka figures actually. they look spot on for ranka and while the colors and finish aren't quite what they were in the anime on Klan, they still look really good. with sheryl, here makeup looks a little intense but overall she looks ok. lucky me I'll be getting the megahouse Sheryl when it comes out.

wow, I never thought I'd see this thing in production... I'm kind of tempted. how does this get anounced before the M&M VF-1J's though?
-
lots of their figures have cast off... like there entire queens blade line. (I've got the Nanael Figure, she's great) megahouse does some of the best sculpts by the way. I'm glad to see them doing a sheryl figure

the engrish on the background is so damn distracting, every time I see a pic of it my eyes go strait to the O and thing "dammit, that should be a U" and more off topic, why is it that all the IM@S figures have really bad facial expressions.

OH SHI-!!!! I need this, I wonder if you can take the uniform off? I looks like you might.

Macross variable fighter/mecha pose thread

no Fair, I didn't know we could have conditions! well in that case. for a super robot I'm sticking with big O unless I don't get the butler and the android chick with it, then I'm going with big Duo for Real robot: AV-X0 "Zero" from Patlabor for macross: YF-21 if I can't use an original design and for Gundam I'm going with Nobel Gundam just for the novelty of having a chick gundam

I resent that, I love the VA-3. it's such a cool design, It's a transforming A-6 god dammit! I think the battroid mode is cool, and it's probably the second coolest fighter mode after the VF-4. I really hate how they use the "identical to the VF-16's " descriptor. WHAT IS THE VF-16?!?! all we know is it has the same engines as the VF-11MAXL, wich are similar to the ones in the MAXL custom. and it's presumably beafier than the VF-11 since they needed to strengthen it in order to the engines. unless the VF-16 is like the real F-16 and has a single engine

fine, then I will...

I've always wondered, do you have like a notebook that you fill with random quotes on the off chance you may end up using it, or do you just commit all these to memory?
-
they said the 1/4 pounder was a 400 meter class ship, so I take it that it's in the 400 meter length range. so yeah it would be the right size. (if you modified the SDF-1's arms of course)

Firing the gunpod in fighter mode-- dangerous?
anime52k8 replied to Syngyne's topic in Movies and TV Series
I think we should just remember the fact that jets and missiles and bullets, even in macross are always going to be going WAY bellow relativistic speeds, so time dilation and special and general relativity don't need to be factored in. all we have to worry about is Newtonian physics. -
Robotech Masterpiece: Jack Archer
anime52k8 replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
at the end you get sent into this destroyed city with a crashed zentradi ship in the center to kill this guy (some rough zentradi commander or something). you make your way towards the ship and then the ship along with the whole city fold out into deep space so you have a weird combination urban/space battle against him in a booster equipped glog. after you beat him you go to a cutseen where you're floating out in space and Jack is getting all introspective and crap and traces the Spacy kite in the fog on his canopy as he's about to run out of air. I have no idea why I remember how it ends considering I haven't played the end of the game in some 4~5 years. -
what would be really cool would be 2 macross quarters, in attack mode, attached to the SDF-1 in place of the ARMD's.
