the v.1 1/60 had a fair amount of parts swaping going on. (hands; canopy/heat shield; filler peg for the nose in fighter mode; little panels for the arms etc.

you mean one page ago...

I'm so confused right now... this will either be complete poo or the greatest movie ever made. definitely need to go see this one.

TBH, the ass end still looks just as fat as on the existing YF-19, although now the wings are finally large enough that the thing looks like a jet and not a brick. also the rear landing gear look short.

I'm still dubious that it's anything more than an artistic illustration. I'm not convinced yet that it even based on the actual CAD renders, and even if it is, there's so much stylization and heavy shadows that you can't tell anything about how the proportions look. nothing's been show that indicates that the fighter mode won't be chubby, so I'm going to continue to believe that this thing has a fugly fighter mode until evidence is provided to the contrary.

This still comes down to an apples and oranges comparison between the Captain's kit and anything yamato would do. I'd say it WOULD be unreasonable to expect the model that Yamato is selling to come painted and assembled and cost less than half of what it will; but if this was going to be a General release I would say that $200 would be the max. the Captain made how many Regult kits? 30~40? Considering that a Yamato Regult TOY would be expected to sell maybe one hundred times that many units, I'd expect more out of their offering for the same price. all that said, I wouldn't be getting one of these as is for a number of reasons. I'd also probably not buy one if it was a $200 finished toy; I like the Regult, but not that much. Now what I would buy would be a <$100 toy Regult that's basically a Revoltech in 1/60 scale. I don't even want a little Zentradi figure, and I could care less if it even has interior detail. I would just like something that's poseable and looks good next to the other Yamato toys.

so what, the bandai Macross frontier models don't appeal to model builders and they're still in the model section. you build it and paint it, therefor it's a model and should be in the model section.
-
to quote the first damn page... so yeah: model kit; Japanese online exclusive; $400+ USD; go f*ck yourself Yamato.
-
so wait, are these toys or model kits?

yeah, but the big fat "001" on the side of the nose and the Jolly Roger on the tails should be a given. also, maybe it's just the picture but the boosters look like they point out and up really dramatically.

I have a strong feeling that Yamato will be releaseing the Phalanx soon... As a $400 resin conversion kit for the tomahawk. unpainted and Tomahawk not included. limited to 100 pieces.

Fun fact: MacrossWorld is more than just a web forum, it has a front page too! and did you know that there are toy reviews on the front page? yeah, there are. Prometheum5 reviews the Banpresto VF-1 Super Valkyrie
-
torrents, have you heard of them?

the D-stance looks like crap in every mode. The only thing it had going for it was that at the time it came out, it was the least offensively ugly fully transformable YF-21.

does anyone know if the LED's from the 1/100 High Grade 00 gundam will work inside the GN drive of the Master Grade Exia? I bought the regular MG Exia but I didn't know that the LED lights only come with the Ignition mode release. *facepalm* I'm hopping I can just pick up a 00 Gundam and stick the lights from that into my Exia kit.

now that's uncalled for. We all know Tommy Yune didn't draw this, an actual human being with actual feelings did and we should respect that. They may not be good but that's no reason to mock them.

Transformers Collection on PAWN STARS

This is why I can't stand this show. These guys make a living off of swindling people on a regular basis, and they get a f*cking TV show for it. -
who's rule is this? I've never heard it suggested that you should do it that way before. The most common method I've seen is gray on white (as it's more subtle) and black on colors (as it will still be visible against the darker background) black marker on white plastic really only works if you're going for a very heavy "cartoonish" look. BTW; if you're going to use gundam markers, you should use either Fine tip or Real touch Gundam markers, not the the regular paint pen types.
