    DX VF-25G

I still think mini camera tripods screwed upside down into a block of acrylic is the best solution anyone's ever come up with. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Metal-Universal-Tripod-Stand-For-Digital-Camera-/300541955622?pt=US_Tripods&hash=item45f9b24e26
  2. I find the technical quality and execution of MLP's flash animation to be superior to a most anime, TBH.
  3. I think it just means someone has way too much time on their hands, and probably needs to get out and socialize with actual people every once and a while.
  4. Where we're going... we don't need eyes to see. (oh my f**king god I'm so tired right now...)
  5. You can just make out Omega Supreme in the back on the left and Unicron in the back on the right. they're about the same size but Unicron has a little more bulk because of the planet shells.
  6. Energon toys have there charm, but you have to keep in mind that mid 2000 transformers where built with the mentality of being chunky and sturdy as hell with priority put on action features. in the case of Omega supreme he's sufficiently jointed with shoulders, hips, elbows and knees but they're all huge ratchet joints so don't expect amazingly dynamic posing. The main draw of Energon omega supreme has always been that he's absolutely massive. leader class movie prime comes up to his waste and he stand about a head and a half taller than TFC Hercules. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9z4XJ1yFR7o/Tz6ug8CYLEI/AAAAAAAABRg/uos4oVB7EnY/s1600/Preview_Hercules_Onepercase+%2852%29.JPG The optimus prime is a cool toy, but only if what it does click with what you're interested in. like RD Blade said, his proportions without his drones are hilariously bad and like most stuff energon stuff he's not super pose-able. A lot of people don't like the drone thing but I find them kind of cool. It's basically a bigger, less rickety power core combiner; or a megazord with elbows, and knees. He's at his best if you've got access to spreme (which you will in this set) and/or wing saber (who is unfortunately kind of rare) because you can start plugging them together to make some crazy super robots. http://tformers.com/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=379 http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/b/b6/Energontoy_prime_combinations.jpg personally, I want it for that omega supreme, and the Energon Optimus is a nice bonus. I don't think it'll be worth what it'll cost to import it from asia but there's a good chance it'll get sold through amazon for cheaper.
  7. I like it because it's a generally well written slice of life comedy with a unique and attractive art style that collectively taps into childhood nostalgia. Not nostalgia for the 80's but nostalgia for late 90's/early 2000's cartoon network programing. A lot of the people behind MLP got their start doing things like Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends; Some of the greatest examples of western animation in the last 50 years. MLP raises above it's pandering, 30 minute toy commercial roots and manages to be a strong, creator driven show that appeals to a broad audience through a combination of wit, creativity and sincerity that a lot of shows lack. It's a refreshing, unique show that's easy to watch, enjoy and feel good about when it's over. I also like the fandom that it's managed to garner, The show has a unique ability to inspire creativity in people and I find that I enjoy the the fan-labors of the community as much if not more than than the show itself. The show also has this amazing ability to make the people who like it act ever so slightly less dickish to each other than usual on the internet, and that absolutely blows my mind. It's not a show for everyone but it makes me happy at a time in my life where not a lot of stuff can do that any more. Also, ZOMG PRETTY COLORS!!!
  8. The problem with that is that at 1/24 scale the Ingram is already really big and expensive, while conversely people already complain about how tiny the motoslave is at 1/15. it's one of those cases where the physical size difference between the designs in question is so great that making everything a consistent scale would make something either unattractively small or prohibitively large.
  9. TBH, I think Turn A looks best with a really even grey panel lines and no other weathering. If you keep them thin but consistent it really replicates Turn A's distinctive line art. And getting back to tallgesse, IMO proper colors should be bone white and a really dark slate grey. not 100% black but more like 85~90%. And I seriously hope they include water slide decals to do the big eagle crest on the shield.
  10. I noticed it starting wednesday. They probably got hit by a spam-bot or something.
  11. um, they're toys from 2004 that are getting re-issued in new deco's for Chinese new year. they're both getting G1 inspired paint schemes and optimus primes trailer will have a big "year of the snake" decal on it. Also Energon Omega Supreme's combined vehicle mode is kind of snake like. also, going by the new PR pictures, it looks like Energon Omega Supreme is getting a remolded arm and new head based on his WFC game appearance. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/energon-6/transformers-platinum-collection-official-pr-pics-176110/ They are for now going to be Asian market exclusive, but there's a chance it'll be available in the North America eventually. They did something very similar last year with a year of the dragon themed redeco of ultimate Optimus Prime. Originally it was Asian market only but last month it went up on Amazon.
  12. Welcome to the internet. We've got hardcore porn of everything here.
  13. I have no idea what to make of this: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/transformers-beast-hunters-official-nycc-pr-pics-176109/
  14. You know, I think these transformable play-model type kits would be better served being discussed in the toy section rather than the model section. I know they're technically model kits in the sense that you have to build them, but there's clearly not a lot of love for these types of snap kits in the general modeling community, and the main demographic for these is most likely going to be people who want a small and cheap alternatives to Yamato 1/60's and bandai DX's.
  15. but the areas that need to be white are the areas that are most likely to get scratched during transformation.
  16. Screw Nu gundam, MOTHER F*ING MG TALLGEESE!!!
  17. oh, totally random thing, but I noticed that the tag for the GDO deluxes read "Transformers Deluxe assortment China" and that made me chuckle.
  18. Well, I just brought home MP Thundercracker. For what is at it's core a 6 year old toy, it's actually pretty nice. Admittedly I didn't have particularly high expectations, but I barring a couple small things he's actually a really fun toy. biggest complaint would be that the sliding portion of his torso doesn't tab together all that well. Actually, the biggest complaint is that the instructions for this are completely worthless. For one they're not even for the MP-11 based seeker mold, they're for the old MP-03 version. It took me a good 5 minutes to figure out how the new head worked (The new head sculpt looks so much better than the old one BTW). And even those instructions are really vague and unhelpful. I'm a little bummed though, I was too busy this morning to swing by TRU when it opened, and I missed out on them cracking open a GDO deluxe case. by the time I got their all they had left was two Swerves and a Springer.
  19. because... Japan. :edit: And considering Japanese deluxe prices, you're really paying closer to 3x more.
  20. I think I'm going to head over there tomorrow morning and grab it.
  21. I used to use Model Master clear lacquers a lot before I switched over to exclusively Tamiya lacquers; and while it's labelled as a lacquer, I've found that it's significantly less "hot" than most other lacquers out there (like tamiya or mr. color). I've found that Model Master clear lacquer is safe over enamel paints as long as you make sure they're full cured (i.e. give it several days or more after it's dry to the touch). In any event, It's not something you should spray over Acrylics; I've done it and made it work but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you're doing or you're really crazy. (I think I fall under the second category BTW)
  22. Honestly, the pilot name and the giant 'D-24' are the only markings I actively don't like. The G1 detailing on the intakes I don't really care either way and I actually like the 'sonicboom' and Reflector graphics. :edit: And this is a stupid reason to want it but the only other seeker toy I actually own of any kind is Generations Thundercraker.
  23. Even though they're just as inaccurate, Phantom and Eagle aren't as visually offensive to look at. (and I'm still ignoring the pile of robot underneath the jet in that statement).
