  1. Just wondering if there has been any rumors recently.
  2. I love Yamato, one of my first tastes of anime really, seems every few years we get a new Yamato.. something and this is looking great so far. But i gotta say it, how about they give us a little SDF Macross reboot some love? I dont need one every few years.. just one good one will do
  3. NO on this george lucas revisionist crapola YES on accurate TV SDF-1
  4. Does it really matter how much a person posts? I would much rather see "hey thats great" one liners, that are positive than negative bullcrap such as this.
  5. I had a pioneer component system I got mid 86 that lasted me until the late 90's. I moved so much it was a pain lugging it all around so ened up selling it. Your setup brings back memories and many components look to be maybe a year or so newer than mine. I did have that same smaller remote that controlled it all, wish I still had the system. Very cool
  6. Reading through this thread after grahams post on a possible TV version is SHOCKING. I really can't believe their are some here that would accept a bastardized, half ass version of the TV SDF-1. We pour over tiny little details and shapes of the valks, endless debates, but when it comes down the the big dog, the mofo that IS THE MACROSS.. we are willing to accept a NOT EVEN CLOSE to being right version?! Did I just come back to BIZARRO MACROSS WORLD?! We have a chance to get a new sculpt, SAY YES. Even if you cant afford it right now or anyway time soon, you may down the road.. we still collect Macross toys that were only made 20+ years ago. YOU WILL AT LEAST HAVE THE OPTION IF IT'S MADE! I strongly dislike the DRYL version, it's just got F'd up proportions and needless greeblies hanging off of it. I absolutely will not be buying the DRYL version but would easily but two TV versions if it was done the right way! Make this happen!!
  7. Man, that bridge is really bothering me.. seriously WTF, why would they even choose to do a close up on it looking like that. Ill cross my fingers that just a prototype or something. Otherwise... A large TV version SDF-1 is my grail macross toy, hope we see one. The difference between TV vs movie versions are big, a repaint and just slapping the D and P on the arms aint gonna cut it. TV Movie
  8. A remake, but same designs, characters and story, almost shot for shot, with all hand drawn animation done by the best, setting a new WOW standard for animation quality. I would be ok with a few addition scenes here and there that just were not possible back in the day for what ever reason. Going out on a limb Maybe even have mimi's (forgot her name) voice record the songs remixed sounding more current, a "remixed" score by her.
  9. The Refit (TMP version) is my favorite ship of all time and I am obsessed with having a perfect TMP version of it. Its quite possibly the most complex and beautiful paint job ever put onto a model, the amount of time and effort that went into the details such as the the aztec paneling are insane. I have the bandai and yeah its colors are super bright compared to the actual model. Here is 2 of the best shots of the ship taken, in color, that's currently available, from when the motion picture was in production. The TMP version of the ship had the secondary hull/strongback areas painted a greyish/seafoam green, then was repainted by ILM (LAME) for star trek 2 with a major loss of detail and with the now familar light blue secondary hull details. I currently have a large scale refit being built on commission with a "no expense spared" approach in full TMP mode. Full lighting and multi color pearl aztecing! Here is a taste, notice aztecing paneling on the saucer, you cant see it but the entire ship is covered in multiple colored panels like this. You can only see the paneling at certain angles and lighting, otherwise the ship just looks the standard white OK now back to Macross Quarter talk

  11. Definitely smaller than I was expecting seeing it in scale with other things. $500 is getting harder and harder to justify... now if it was TV version.. no questions asked..Gimme..
  12. I am going on 34 and am feeling the same way on all points you mention. It's definatley age and experience kicking in, the been there done that syndrome, small tweaks on original materials just don't get me excited anymore and sadly.. not much really "new" stuff coming out these days, of anything.. just rehashes.
  13. I have never liked that aspect of the VT design (along with uber lame head), VF-1D for FTW.
  14. Yes what she said, have some respect you animals. If you dont like a thread, NOBODY CARES THAT YOU DON'T LIKE IT. Don't waste your time posting it, and mine having to reading it. Shaorin, your review is fine and agree.. its a great figure, I hope to pick it up soon!
  15. Wow that's kind of shocking, not sure if I like it...
  16. Does anyone know if the older v2's like hikarus and the vf-1d are going to get the new pin treatment?
  17. Ya that's garbage, buy a new one.
