Complete: Mechanic: M UN 12A: SLV-111 Daedalus: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#SDFM - its kinda interesting to compare and contrast what content was retained from the original, and what has been replaced or expanded upon. My highlight is the description of the ship's structure. Brings a smile each time I read it.

Two separate designs. The mechanism itself, from what I've gleaned, must be changed at base (meaning: it's not something you can press a button to activate). Both are official... (or the flow controller was an extra detail that disappeared during the series run, like the Vajra's version of chaff/flare anti-missile defence.)

ER/RM++ Project: Character: Plus 00A "Macross Plus" Character Interrelation Chart/Triangle Timeline: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#M+ - The stuff on Guld Works is interesting - but as usual, it's nothing more than a general outline... Technology 01H: Variable Fighter: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php - a bit more interesting. Perhaps most is the continuation of the "dumbing down" theme by the MC Rev. Ed.'s editors. Mind you, in this case, it actually communicates things more effectively. Worldguide 19B: Macross Frontier Fleet: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php - not quite as much meat as I'd like in the parts translated...

VF-1, right? There are at least two versions of the engine exhaust ports withing the feet: Normal: jet engine exhaust port (round shaped) through rectangular 2D Thrust vectoring nozzles/feet GERWALK Flow Controller: 5 small, rectangular flow controllers are added between the engine exhaust port and the rectangular 2D thrust vectoring nozzles. The later can be seen when Fokker's VF-1S lands in GERWALK in either the 1st or 2nd episode of SDF:M.

Not LED specific per se, just general electronic advice: - make sure you're connections are actually connected. Best to solder them. You should be able to pick up a soldering iron (ï¿¥420)and solder (ï¿¥105) at Daiso, so those supplies won't break the bank. - check that everything works before putting it into the model (as David mentioned) - avoid kinks and shorts in the wiring - ESPECIALLY when you're at the stage where you're putting the tested circuit into the model (the VFMF: VF Modelling Manual has a good suggestion: use super blocks glued into the interior of the model to keep the + and - wires separate). Just like any other new modelling technique, it may be a good idea to try it out on a throwaway/low cost kit first. The VFMF: VF Modelling Manual also has a few pictures of the modellers whittling down the plastic around the light emitting parts to better fit into the wing tips of the model. If you attempt that, make sure none of the metal that is normally covered by the plastic is exposed (lest you might accidentally set the house on fire). Also, have you thought about fibre optics? It *may* be easier to install them into a VF sized kit, and as the electricals are all in one place, you don't have to worry about shorts or kinks in the wiring.

ER/RM++ Project: Character Zero UN 02A Roy Fokker: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#M0 - delving into his relationship with Aries is kind of nostalgic. Nevertheless, anyone else get the impression from the series that ol' Raizou had a poor impression of Shin? This sheet implies something else...

There's a new book out on GitS:SAC: "Attack Shell Riot Police (AKA GitS) Stand Alone Complex Visual Profiling" 攻殻機動隊 STAND ALONE COMPLEX ビジュアル・プãƒãƒ•ァイリング http://www.amazon.co.jp/攻殻機動隊-STAND-ALONE-COMPLEX-ビジュアル・プãƒãƒ•ァイリング/dp/4800212278/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1371051088&sr=1-10&keywords=攻殻機動隊 Anyone know anything about it? ER/RM++ Project: Timeline 17A: Zentraadi Defection: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php - some minor tweaks (what exactly did Misa determine?) and slapped into .php. Otherwise, the 2 editions are unchanged. COMPLETE! Mechanic: TF SMS 04B: Durendal: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#TMF - as usual, MC is thin on specifics, but has exposition in spades. There are some nuggets, mind you, they're just speckled throughout...

Newtype Ace Vol. 22: Only the barest minimum of Macross content: NA Anime Station: Event: Macross Crossover Live 30: http://macrosslive30.com/ BD&DVD: Macross Plus Complete Blu-ray Box Goods: 1/72 Perfect Transformation VF-1A/S Web: http://www.macross30.com/mtg/ Oh, one more: at the bottom of the table of contents, there's a note apologizing that Macross The First has taken a break this month - and there's no MtF indicated for next month (I believe Tochiro already scooped this in the MtR thread, last night).

Actually, it's the in universe way to explain where all the people came from to populate the emigration fleets logically applied to the scene. Not sure about the clown. Though, bad mind transfer/copy might have something to do with it.

There were survivors spread out all over the world, just not that many . One has to keep in mind that the ENTIRE surface of the Earth was turned into something akin to the surface of the moon. If the bunker was something like the one under Cheyenne Mountain, then the chance of surviving the initial bombardment is high (never-mind finding a way out or contacting someone to dig the way out for you). However, if the bunker is only a couple of storeys underground, then the contents would most likely have been either directly or indirectly destroyed (impact shock-wave, radiation, or simply roasted alive from the heat. Pick your poison).

Movies aren't only about spectacle (albeit all of the movies recently mentioned in this topic have that) nor about quickly shuttling the plot from A to B to C as efficiently as possible. Sure, your mileage on PJ's additions will vary pending your individual tastes, but I liked the time spent developing and adding depth to the characters and places, and on building tension. Yes, I thoroughly enjoy my extended editions sets of the LotR triology (movie night weekend becomes movie week). Admittedly I haven't seen the Hobbit (waiting for the DVD*), and its been years since I read the Hobbit or the LotR trilogy, but one thing that cannot be forgotten about the books (especially LotR) is that they are mostly about the journey itself, not the destination. * I work nights, and have 3 kids. Never-mind the dearth of movie theatres, their cost, and the last train Cinderella effect.

I'm not disagreeing that there were survivors in them. But given that they were either already destroyed (GC II), directly attacked and all but destroyed (GC I), or under construction (GC III, IV, V), the majority of survivors didn't come from them (I'll give that collectively, the survivors in them were substantial, but the number that survived in the space colony bunches* is most likely one or two orders of magnitude greater). * These guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O'Neill_cylinder

ER/RM++ Project: Episode: 712A: Macross 7 Eps. 12 "Spiritia Farm": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - the topics are a little underwhelming this time, but once again, the commentary reinforces the genius of the storytelling and setting. Alas, the anime itself didn't quite live up to that level in terms of presentation...

They key thing to remember about the survivors is that they are spread out around the Earth, and in near orbit. The majority of the survivors probably came from only 3 sources: the SDF-1, the Apollo Moon Base, and the Space Colony Clusters.

We'll go with Miku (no furigana assist in MC... I guess its another one of those "you have to already know what we're talking about to understand what we're talking about" things. Anyhow, it's fixed on the sheet. PS Jeffrey's got a list of possible readings: http://rut.org/cgi-bin/j-e/sjis/dosearch?sName=on&H=PS&L=J&T=%96%A2%97%88&WC=none

ER/RM++ Project: Technology 11A: Barrier Systems: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php - I'm a bit underwhelmed with the parts I translated - however, some of the titles for the other sections do look intriguing. Wish there were more hours in the day... Character: M 00A "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross" Character Interrelation Chart/Triangle Timeline: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#SDFM - the name of Hikaru and Misa's first born daughter. On top of that, the head-hurting aspect of Macross rears its ugly head again: did Minmei get on the Megaroad 01 or not? Another sheet in the MC clearly states that pretty much the majority of the crew of the SDF-1 were cloned to restore the Earth - and its extremely likely that ALL of the Megaroad-1 were crewed by clones of Hikaru, Misa and Minmei, to name but a few. So, were the trio that got on the Megaroad-01 mere copies, or were they the originals themselves? (Given Kawamori-san's thoughts on the matter, they are most likely the originals - either way, Minmei was both departing on the Megaroad-01 and remaining on the Earth, watching the Megaroad-01 depart. Head hurt yet?) And how does that cloning work exactly? It may have been an in-universe "dramatization", but implications are that it is damn quick. Instead of the My-clone device only shrinking or enlarging a Zentraadi, you feed it the genetic information, and it just produces a fully grown body - at the rate of what? 1 per hour? What about consciousness? As the same devices have the ability to transfer ones mind from one clone to another, shouldn't it be possible to store a copy in memory? A copy that can be imprinted on all clones of a given template - which is exactly what the other article in MC is implying when it comes to the clones of the crew of the Macross. (Which begs the question: is the consciousness in the discarded body truly moved? Or is it like "6th Day", and you aren't really transferred, only copied, and you die when your original body is disposed of?) Anyhow, I'm sure there are limitations placed on the My-clone system to prevent abuses (such as making mass copies of an individual Zentraadi who is being macronized), but I'm sure there would be some who work around it. Thus, the only problem for them would be feeding, clothing, sheltering and providing their quick-grown army with weapons. But then, why haven't we seen such an abuse in Macross? Or is it like the transporter in Star Trek, where the device is used for its story telling/production convenience, and its implications are not truly explored in-series.) Nevertheless, which Minmei is Burira searching for? The original (which may be in another galaxy), or any of her numerous clones?

You've built Gunpla, right? That's about the size difference you want. (Ball joint plugs in, but you can still remove it without fear of ripping the ball out).

I'm not sure if Sketchup uses Boolean tools (it may be by another name). "Intersect" is the name of the function (one can tell that it's been a while since I've used Sketchup, eh?). http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=94856 I don't think it matters what the interior of the socket looks like. All it needs is a smaller hole than the ball that goes in the socket (so it doesn't pop out easily), and a couple of points of contact inside the socket. Like the old-style ball-using computer mice. I've built some Gunpla kits (or similar) where the back side of the head ball socket was a flat piece...
